Just bought this about a week ago as I was having a hard time with computer boot speeds. When my laptop turned on with my old 1TB HDD it would take 10s to boot then 10m (yes minutes!) for Windows to fully load and the Disk Usage to drop to 0%. Now!! My machine boots in about 5s, and Windows is ready to go 10s after I login, Disk Usage never reaches above 70% so far! Very happy with this purchase! WOULD HIGHLY RECCOMEND.

Have Sony Vaio 14, which had 500 GB @ 5200 rpm and obviously it was very slow and most of the time the computer was busy in disk I/O. Replaced with PNY 240 GB SSD as a fresh installation. Like a magic the installation completed within 30 mins including setup. Now booting is less than 20 secs and speed is tremendous. Excellent product for laptops which has SATA and 2.5" internal hard drives.

Worked great to replace my old hard drive. Made the system much faster.

I put this into a dell g7 gaming laptop. Easy install, bios recognized the drive, formatting was very easy, and only took about 10mins before I was installing games.

this is regarding a 2014 Lenovo B50-30 with 4GB ram and 500GB hard drive (mechanical) I can't speak to the longevity of the PNY ssd as it has only been in computer for a couple of hours. But it is like I am on a newer different computer. It was taking me minutes to boot up now it is seconds. I sit there twiddling my thumbs when trying to load outlook or power point now they open in no time. I was scared to death of cloning my hard drive, but the link/software provided by PNY made it a breeze. Very happy with my purchase Best Buy, can't wait until the 4GB of ram that is suppose to get here tomorrow.

I needed a SSD to install in my PC. It was between this and the Samsung EVO from which i have heard has much higher speeds than the PNY, but was also much more expensive and the PNY had such a great price tag on it so i went with this SSD. It is amazing.. does everything i need it to and is VERY fast i could not be happier with the purchase. I have used computers with the Samsung EVO SSD and i honestly think the PNY is faster. I am sold on PNY ssd's for the rest of my life after making this purchase.

Excellent low cost SSD Drive for upgrading notebook.

Need a drive now. Store is maybe 15 minutes from me. Was doing some work on my work computer and one of the four drives died. Have it running in raid 10. Need to get it replaced fast. So, I bought the PNY and it worked flawlessly. Machine works without any issues.

It is good SSD for any laptop or desktop to increase performance.

I used this as an OS and is currently holding up well. No issues to date. If you don't plan on downloading anything big, the 240GB will do the job. Plus, this can be a good alternative to an external storage for certain things if needed.

Not sure what other folks definition of speed is, but this drive is super-duper SLOW!!! Had a malfunctioning 350gb sata drive that made this thing seem like it was a remotely installed, network retrieval system... Thought all solid state drives were fast, apparently MOST are Not according to 'professiona'l reviews... Replaced the solid state with a Toshiba SATA 500gb drive and Room-a-Zoom-ZOOMA-Speed Buggy Style!!!!

I got this drive 2 months ago to upgrade a laptop, it worked very well for the 2 months that it worked. let me get my taxes done allowed me to make a bunch of document files on it. I started to login one day to get some work done and my laptop froze up for a long time which was very odd. i rebooted to to find everything was gone I was unable to recover anything as the data was gone. I returned it to best by only to get a smarty, "if you had purchased our service plan i could replace it and you would be on your way." so i called PNY for an RMA, i have to ship it to them to verify that i know the drive is bad and that i didn't not tamper with it. Needless to say, if I'm going to have to deal with vendors directly then from now on i'll deal with them directly. And the next one won't be a PNY this is the third drive i have have had that has just self destructed.

I have gone through 2 of these SSD's in two years. I put one initially into my mothers new laptop to replace the HDD. At the beginning it worked good, however then after about 3 months just out of nowhere it failed. DONE, no more data, cannot connect to it anymore, etc.... I though I might of just bought a dud, it happens, so I went back and bought another one. Now after about another year since that, DONE, no data, not connecting, again! This is in my mother's business laptop, thankfully she had a backup, but what if she didn't? She would have lost extremely crucial data that would of shut her business down. For the price they're ok, if you think of them as disposable SSD's and not as something made to be reliable.

PNY Internal SATA Solid State Drive will not last. Do your research and you will find a lot of them last less than one year then all data will be lost. Stay away from this brand. These drives are basically garbage.

I installed it in my macbook pro. When I was taking notes in class, it suddenly went down with no reason. The SSD just can not be read with NO REASON. I have to spend time to contact and mail this thing. Bad.
