This ssd was purchased about 48 hours ago and it has been in use in the laptop for about four hours now. It has replaced a 500GB 5400 rpm conventional hard drive that was manufactured in 2012 (according to its label). The expectation is not for the laptop to perform like a new one because it is six years old. The expectation is for the laptop to perform better, which it does. Startup is faster as one might expect/hope. The ssd also is considerably quieter. Mini Partition Wizard made the setup much easier than Acronis, a code for which is included in the box with the ssd. That setup was abandoned for one that proved much more efficient. My experience with PNY products goes back many years and includes memory, flash drives, and video cards. Like all of those products, this one should last for a long time while extending the life of a laptop. Then it may find itself in another machine and will continue to work fine. The price was good and the store pickup was smooth as usual.

It seems to be quicker than the drive it replaces. It was also less expensive than other brands of similar capacity. All around great purchase for my needs.

Great SSD if you have an older laptop and want to breathe new life into it. You don't need anything fancy. This is the cheapest SSD Best Buy carries and it does well enough.

My client had an older HP PC with an Intel Dual Core Processor. It was Windows 7. It had 4 GB ram and a 1Tb hard drive, that he was only using 80GB of it. He said it was slow. He didn't want the SSD drive, or more ram, just Windows 10. We upgraded him to Windows 10. He said it was slow. And then we upgraded his RAM. He said it was slow. It wasn't until we upgraded his HD to an SSD that he REALLY saw the difference. Super quiet, super fast boot times, limited heat output. Great investment in an older PC. Makes a new PC even faster.

This drive was easy to install and has sped up my desktop tremendously. It’s made a world of difference in the performance of my computer. I will only use SSD’s now.

I upgraded my laptop from spinning hard drive to SSD. Since then laptop is amazing. The boot timing is incredible. Seamless operations, loving my laptop for the 2nd time.

Really good SSD, installed in an low Spec Lenovo and usually take 5 min the boot up, now the laptop is only 30 sec on boot up. Amazing performance after the swap.

PNY makes a quality drive it does not have the advances algorithms of the Samsung. But is priced accordingly. We just ungraded two mac book pro's (2012) and they run better than ever. And PNY is easy to work with if you have a warranty issue just make sure to register your product.
