I’m no techie but I bought this relatively cheap, I think $30 and watched some YT to learn how to get rid of my HDD and swap for SSD It’s definitely faster and runs less hot than before. Also, my comp is quiet now but I guess that is one of the perks of getting an SSD. I like PNY products in general for thumb drives, so far this SSD is doing well (2months into use). Still haven’t used close to the maximum capacity and I download lots for school. I’d recommend.

I purchased 2 of these. One for my 5 year old laptop and the other for my desktop as extra storage. Upgrading my laptop with an SSD blew me away at how fast it can boot up, like 30 seconds compared to 3-4 mins with the old HDD. It fees like a brand new up to date laptop. And as for the other SSD on my desktop, accessing files is pretty much instantaneous. If you’re looking for an inexpensive SSD without sacrificing quality, this is it.

I bought this SSD so that I could update a PC that I've had for a few years. Although the old hard drive was still functioning, I didn't want to trust it much longer. I swapped out the hard drive and installed the SSD. I then installed a new version of Ubuntu Linux. The PNY SSD was a noticeable improvement. Not only does the PC boot faster, everything else I do is much faster as well. I'm very satisfied with my purchase.

Fast Solid State Drive with Excellent price Install in old laptop and works much faster

I know have 3 of the PNY SSDs (2x210GB CS900 and 1x240GB CS900) and have absolutely loved how much they speed up the system. I feel like this is one of the easiest and cheapest ways to get more life out of a system (along with adding memory). These PNY SSDs have been really easy to install, reliable and fast. Definitely enjoying the dramatic performance improvements from this simple upgrade.

This is a decent sata SSD, perfect for an older laptop, desktop or mini pc that could benefit from the speed boost of an SSD over a mechanical hard disk. I replaced a mechanical drive in an old desktop with this and the boot speeds and application launches are lightning fast compared to the mechanical hard disk.

Best choice when you are updating an old computer. I got 4 used computers, i5 6th generation. I upgraded RAM to 16GB, updated the HDD with this SSD. The persons who received each one can't believe that these computers being so old! As well, I used 4 of these to create an RAID for a Linux server for a customer. It worked like a charm

SSDs have come down in price so much and are now so reliable, there is no reason to use a spinning hard drive as a system drive in a computer. This works great for a budget build, 240GB system drive is enough to not really worry about having to manage space, and if you need more storage you can always do a cheap secondary HDD or other dedicated storage(external, NAS, etc).

These are not the fastest SSDs out there, but they have been mostly reliable so far. 20+ drives, no defects so far. They are great replacement for hard drives which are the most serious bottleneck in budget or laptops over 5 years old provided that you will not be rewriting a large amount of data on a regular basis.

I have two of these and they work just fine. They gave me a huge speed boost. This taught me that there is no upgrade more important that going from HDD to SSD to see immediate and noticeable speed increase. I've used them for about 2-3 years now with no issues. And they were a good deal.

I’ve bought several of these for use in business PCs. They’re very quick and I have yet to have a failure on them. Great price and good mainstream performance.

The drive is fast enough to saturate the sata 3 connection it uses so you can’t get faster. Furthermore, it’s always priced at 10cents a gigabyte which is a steal for an ssd. Lastly, I’ve purchase over a dozen of these drives for a variety of systems & haven’t had a single one fail.

Met my needs for replacement ssd for affordable price, especially since I needed to replace 3 hard drive failures over a short time. A cost effective alternative with many storage size alternatives.

I originally wanted to get the PNY 240 gb Portable SSD on sale during a "Deal of the Day," but it was "sold out" virtually as soon as the Deals for that day were posted online. A few profanities later, I decided to buy this internal SSD, which was also on sale as a "Deal of the Day," and in fact, was a bit cheaper. I then converted it to a portable SSD by placing it in an inexpensive external SSD enclosure that I purchased elsewhere (BB doesn't appear to carry them). The end result -- I now have a portable SSD, whose total cost was only a few dollars more than the portable version that was sold out. Works just as good, and actually I can re-use the enclosure for other or larger ssd's whenever I decide to upgrade. Happy ending. Some research I did indicated that the SSDs outlast thumb drives, so that's why I gave this a try -- we'll see if that's true. Just remember to format the drive before use.

This update to a laptop will make it start up and run faster. These are easy to install if you have a good cloning software. The price is finally getting down to a reasonable price I have upgraded several laptops in the past few years with ssd drives and have always liked the improvement

I was concerned the hard drive was starting to fail and wanted a faster, more reliable solution. I used Acorn software to clone the original and everything went smoothly. Boot time is now about 15 seconds on average. This is my 3rd PNY SSD and I am happy with it.

Economical and reliable. These are the best choice if you need an SSD for those projects that are not critical. I used it for a a test environment and it fits the bill.
