I bought this to replace HDD on my old Chromebook. I have very old laptop with low CPU power. I installed ChromeOS to make it Chromebook. However, it was still slow due to low speed HDD. Then, I found this and replaced HDD with this SSD. Then, it responds very fast. Good investment.

Purchased this for a few laptops in my fam (older/retired). Only used for surfing, bill paying, etc. - nothing crazy. Boots in seconds and pages open instantly. Well worth the price - reward is a smile on the users faces. Recommend if you need a cheap and easy (perceived) speed booster.

My 3-year old laptop was kind of running slow at opening apps. It has 8-GB ram but the hard drive was 5400-RPM laptop drive that was slow for current times. Replaced that drive with this PNY Solid State and now it runs great. I think I will get another year or two from my old laptop now.

Replaced my old Toshiba 2 1/2 in hard disk. Now even my windows is running a lot faster. SSD is the way to go.

Excellent pricing during Black Friday. I was planning to dump my old laptop and buy a new Macbook instead. But after replacing my HDD to this, it almost feels like a new laptop! Thanks to this, I do not have to buy a new laptop and save few hundreds of dollars.

This SSD brought my nearly 12 year old PC back to life! Before it took ages to load up but now loads up from complete power off into windows 10 pro in less than 3 minutes! The only downside is that the amount of storage is a bit low, other than that it’s an amazing buy!

Replaced an old, slow mechanical drive that was showing signs of failure with this. The computer went from taking 2-3 min to boot, so being up in less than 45 sec. Seems to be good quality and speed as a replacement for a mechanical drive.

Excellent read/write for 2.5" SATA SSD. Very happy. I actually bought two of these when they were on sale. Both were used to upgrade my mom's older laptops (2014 4th gen i5 and 2017 7th gen i3) from HDD to SSD. Very happy with the results for the price. Both laptops have been super snappy and problem free for the past 6 months now. The laptops now function like they are brand new, whereas prior to the upgrade my mom was going to buy a new laptop due to laggy HDDs and constant crashes. An HDD is a gigantic bottleneck and prone to mechanical failure due to the desgin. Clone your unreliable and inefficient HDD to an SSD and unleash the true power of your system. The only con if you have a PC is no cloning software is included with the drive. You have to own it or purchase it elsewhere. Macs have free 3rd party cloning software available if you look around so no con there.

While PNY is not a widely known brand name, it is certainly a reliable product in my experience as a professional computer repair person. Where there is price sensitivity in a repair, these products are often my go-to choice. I can easily recommend these.

I originally brought it to install in my pc, but I couldn't remove the back and almost going to return it until a friend suggested using as an external hard drive! What a great idea! Now I have more stuff in that and it is great for using in my linux as well as my windows

Bought this one to upgrade an old HP laptop oh my, it really gave the laptop new life! Now it boots up fast and programs load fast too. My parents using this laptop feel like is a new one. If you're looking to give an older laptop new life, I highly recommend this drive! After that, more ram would be nice.

Good this one for my old pc and helps to fasten up but not as expected.

I needed a new hard drive to fix a failing drive in my home computer. I knew I wanted a solid state drive but didn't want to fork out a lot of money. This drive was the perfect fit. Super fast load times at a great price helped to not only fix my computer but make it faster without digging deep in the wallet!

It's always a good idea to i tall and SSD. Though Best Buy had a minimal selection this drive still gets the job done!

Great price and the performance has been great so far. Had no issues transfering data from old hhd to ssd.

I purchased this SSD to replace a mechanical hard drive in a 2010 Macbook Pro, and its working very well. In fact, the Intel i5-based Macbook Pro from 2010 feels recent now that this drives has been installed, and my wife has taken over daily driving that 2010 system. This SSD has given new life to the old MacBook, and I hvae zero regrets with the purchase. Two thumbs up!

Fast easy to use SATA ssd. Used in an old computer to upgrade the mechanical hdd. Very easy to setup. Got it onsale, great buy.

Purchased drive to update a Win7 laptop before upgrading to Win10. Migrated using Free migration utility (not included with drive) that I have used in the past. No issues after migration, startup/shutdown speed improved significantly and it feels like a new laptop vs. prior HDD.

Exactly what I needed to fix my MacBook Pro 2011 model. As far as the SSD goes, this is super lightweight SSD, you can tell how much technology has come when this thing has a weight of almost half what my old OCZ Agility 4 128gb did. Happy with PNY, I use them extensively through by desktop PC builds.
