Made a poorly speced laptop usable. Great hard drive.

Love it, much faster than my old mechanical drive.

SSDs can speed up an old machine dramatically, and the prices of SSDs have been dropping equally dramatically. I've converted quite a few machines and have never had a problem with any brand. Unless you can use dynamic encryption, I recommend getting the least expensive for the size you need. They say that SSD lifetime is dependent on the number of writes, so be sure to have plenty of empty space available for new writes.

As the title suggests, anyone with a hard drive must upgrade to this drive, it will make any older machine get a breath of life and once you try it, you can never go back. This is no high end Samsung SSD but it is priced accordingly and for the general user and even most gamers, you won't notice. Excellent to use as a boot drive, less so for storage due to it's smaller capacity.

Bought a second pair of $240 because the SSD was running so smoothly!

Needed a new SSD for my laptop that i use as a secondary computer. I went with this because of the reviews and the company reliability. While this is not the best on the market it is a great value.

I Please change the hard drive and install this SSD drive I found it to be a great value for the money and the least expensive solution to make that or laptop work more effectively and fast I had I highly recommend this if you have an older laptop and you don’t want to spend a fortune to upgrade the hard drive there are different to expect available but 240 or 250 gig was more than enough for me to use on that laptop

I am a Sr. Systems Engineer and needed a couple SSD’s for a project I am working on so I bought a total of 10 of these guys. Now they’re not enterprise but they sure do you meet the standards in certain aspects. The speeds are not 535 like they say on the box. They’re actually getting around 615MB a second. I am using these to run a few MySQL databases in a cluster and they perform excellent.

If your computer is slow, or the hard drive has failed and you want a quick, inexpensive fix, this is the way to go. A lot of people don’t yet realize how cheap these SSDs have gotten. You just need to check how much data your old drive has. Ideally, you don't want to go more that half full, so if you have more that 120 GB on yoir old drive, bump up to the next largest SSD, ie. 480/500 GB. I give 4 atars only because there are slightly faster, but more expensive SSDs out there. But this PNY is more than sufficient for the average user, who will appreciate how much faster this one is over his/her sponning disk drive.

This is my 2nd PNY SSD that I have bought and they both work without issue. At this price point for 240 gb it is perfect to be a cheap solution in speeding up windows from a HDD. I recently built a computer and used this as my boot drive and has just enough left over space to throw a game or two on. Paired with something like the 2tb seagate barracuda you can get 2.25 gb of storage under $100!

Good lottle drive for backup storage or main boot drive.

Replaced the HDD in my son's HP Envy x360 with this while I was in there replacing the battery and cooling fan anyway. Definitely breathed some new life/performance into the system. I just re-installed Windows 10, in my opinion that gives the best benefits over transfer. Google downloading the media to a USB stick for clean re-installation. Fresh Windows install with no vendor bloat + SSD = fast. Have yet to have any issues with any PNY products.

In light of the current lockdown situation, I was looking to rehab a few years old laptop to be my live streaming machine. Needed a new hard drive that would provide good performance and didn't really need large capacity. Being totally honest, this was the lowest cost drive I could find that met the bill. And I could do next day curbside pickup at my local Best Buy, which was a breeze.

My old hard drive in my laptop failed so I bought a ssd to replace it. Made the laptop faster than before and boots up in less than 10 seconds now compared to the 2-3 minutes with the hard drive

My first SSD was an Intel 80GB and retailed at $229.00. This PNY 240GB is a steal! Oh, we have come so far. My son and I, built his computer from my 2011 i5 retired parts. His system hard-drive is the very same 80GB ssd from years ago. Needless to say, space is an issue. This PNY 240GB is fast enough for our needs and gives him the room to install games, and use his computer the right way. The good way.

I had a backup desktop that was running very slow. I wanted more speed out of it. I installed the SSD and cloned the hard drive to it. The process was quick with tools downloaded from the PNY website. Reset the bios to use the SSD as boot drive and what a difference it made. Everything is quicker from the boot up to pulling up pictures and showing videos.

These drives are great and much faster than the internal drives that came with my son's Lenovo T430 Thinkpad laptop. They aren't as fast as the EVO drives (which I also purchased from Best Buy for another upgrade) but, they were an excellent choice for what I needed and cheaper. The upgrade was fast and painless. It brought back life to my son's old Lenovo Laptop.
