Slow for USB 3 drive

I can confirm that it is a USB 3.2 based on its transfer speed (> 480Mbps) but this drive is fairly slow on write. When writing large file (> 1GB), it initially writes at 75MB/s. But after 10s or slow, it drops to 15MB/s and stays that way. Basically, the write speed is 15MB/s (or ~120Mbps). I only bought it because it was on sale. There are better options out there.

The capacity is much more than I needed for current years taxes, but I have stored the past five years of not only myself, but all my family members, as well. I think this is a safe way to handle my personal files and keep them safe in the future. After I complete and file my (and other family members) I delete the files from my internal hard drive and store away my flash drive in my safe, until next year.

I bought it just to upgrade a PS4's storage capacity, but I'm more than happy with it, and I now have it so I can use it in any capacity. Its a lot of storage.

There are only 230gb available though, both before and after formatting. Not sure where the other 26gb went to be honest. Transfer speeds are good for small batches (75-ish gb and lower). Trying to transfer the full 230gb will take about 5+ hours.
