I was seeing transfer speeds around 64MB/s writing. I flashed Ubuntu to it and unfortunately had a great deal of trouble completing the install. I suspect this drive has something to do with it as it was suggested by the community support site. I couldn't perform write operations in ext4 format to my SSD or other USB drives including the one I'm reviewing. Maybe it's unrelated. I think the drive is fast for it's size and the blinking light lets you know it's working. Good deal.

Got this one "on sale" for quite a markdown and it has worked great, no more problems like "skipping", and "pausing", during playback. Still won't store files larger than 4.0 Gigs, but otherwise allowed me to get back working quickly.
