I installed this in my daughter's Mac Brook Pro to double the RAM and it dramatically improved the machines performance. It has saved her from having to purchase a new MacBook Pro. As a graphic designer her RAM consumption far exceeds "normal" usage. We are somewhat lucky that she has an older model, because Apple has hard wired the RAM into the new units not allowing any expansion or replacement.

    Sped laptop up considerably

Wife's laptop barely came on. It took almost a minute to open basic programs like MS WORD and CHROME. This fixed it. Now it's running at a "normal" speed. I could be faster, but she's happy with it. Once we upgrade her from a normal hard drive to a solid state drive, I'm sure it will be flying. My laptop starts up in 10 seconds or less since I installed my SSD. But, the additional RAM helped A LOT!!!!

IT's good cheap RAM! I put two of these puppies in my iMac. Went from 4gb RAM to 12 in a matter of minutes! Mac users should download the pro version of "Free Memory" to help you manage all this extra space. I NEVER have to worry about virtual memory. Even running cs5.5, AutoCAD, and other programs at the same time. It was only 25 bucks each!!

PNY memory (for the most part) is fine. I've never had a problem with their video cards or memory modules (or SSDs). I have had some issues with their USB flash drives, but that's about it. But, this memory module is fine, and adding memory is perhaps the easiest and fastest way to speed up your computer so you can run more applications at a time. I would recommend this to a friend.

The additional memory works but tricky to install

It is great to have additional memory in my computer but I did have challenges installing it. The videos on YouTube are helpful but it turns out that you have to be firm to seat the memory card. Since it was my first time installing new memory, I was concerned about breaking something. I did not get it seated properly initially but the IT guy at work helped me fix it.

Check to see if your computer has one or two memory stick slots before ordering a memory stick to increase the memory. Mine had one slot so I needed to order one 8gb stick instead of a 4gb stick ( for a 2nd slot that wasn't there. Also make sure the memory stick that Best Buy carries will fit your computer. The 8gb did not fit my Lenovo purchased at Best Buy. So that memory stick was returned.

I bought two of these 4 Gb memories for my iMac. One from the first purchase caused the iMac to not boot. A replacement has worked intermittently but when left in sleep mode, I must force a shutdownto wake up, and I get a "kernel panic" report from Apple on why it shut down. Their advice board states that it is the memory. removing the SDRAM has cleared up the problem.

I originally bought the memory for my Lenovo G50-80 laptop, but it was the wrong type. I then put it into my HP G7 amd quadcore laptop and I worked great. I would recommend doing your research (asking an associate or checking the internet) so that too much time doesn't elapse and you are able to get your money back if somehow you have picked the wrong memory stick.

I got sick and tired of my computer running with so much lag, I could barely stand to use it. Ended up discovering a big part of the problem was the new Firefox upgrade, but my computer still needed a RAM boost. This was super-easy to install and made a huge difference! I can now use my computer without wanting to throw it across the room!!

I maxed out the memory in both my Intel i5 MacBook Pros. I bought the memory they had on the shelf. Geek Squad did the install on both. On my 13 inch machine, it did not work at all. I had to to take it back the following day. They kept it overnight and put a different brand of memory in it. Maybe this brand, maybe not. Now it works great! Just not sure of the brand currently installed.

My wife's HP laptop was so slow that it could not get out of its own way. Her opening a bunch of instances of Internet Explorer did not help but the computer's slowness caused frustration so she just kept on clicking while the computer ground to a halt. With the increase in memory (was 3 G now 8 G) it clips along very well and seldom gets slowed up enough to cause a problem.

I wanted to upgrade my HP Touchsmart All In One 520-1047c because in was running too slow. This chip upgraded my RAM to 8BG, plugged right in, and was recognized immediately. This RAM chip, plus a Samsung SSD drive makes my machine run lightening fast. No need to buy a whole new computer!!

Not Compatible with iMac (late 2009)

    Posted
    jeffsanders

The price is great, but the fact that it doesn't work makes the price pointless. I installed the RAM in my iMac (late 2009) and nothing happened. I re-installed the original RAM and everything worked as normal. I tried the new RAM again and, once again, the computer would not turn on. NOT recommended for iMac owners.

Perfect Way To Upgrade An Older Computer

I bought this to upgrade my wife's Mac. The module was extremely easy to install and has worked perfectly ever since. It's not a huge upgrade as some newer computers come with much more RAM, but for the price it essentially doubled the speed on her 2010 MacBook. I would recommend this to anyone for a cheap solution the bump up the speed on an older computer.

It wouldn’t work in the computer that it was ordered for. Best Buy didn’t check before ordering the memory for my computer if it even had space for it. After it came and I took it in to get it put in they found out there was no where to put it. I was not happy after I went to all that trouble and then it couldn’t be fixed.

I purchased a new Dell All-in-One computer which came stock with 4GM Memory and 1TB Hard Drive. As I had preferred to buy a pc with at least 6GB memory, I decided to upgrade my pc's memory to the max of 8GB by adding this 4GB memory module. Geek Squad installed it for me so I'm unsure of the ease of installing but I didn't wait long! PC runs great so I'm happy with this upgrade.

I had some trouble finding the correct memory locally to work with my Lenovo T410, this is the second one I tried, and works fine. Nice noticeable upgrade. Although the in-store people including geek squad were 100% useless in trying to help me find the correct density memory. If I wasn't in a rush I would have just order online from a more knowledgeable place.

I purchased two of these PNY memory modules. Both modules failed the memory test in my laptop computer. My device was a Dell Latitude E6410. Lack of compatibility eludes confidence, however it is compatible with Toshiba Satellite laptops as my friend installed his set without fail. I recommend testing it first before settling on the modules.

I just picked up a new laptop with 4GB of memory. Running linux with KVM windows was a bit sluggish. Bestbuy down the road had the necessary memory in stock at a decent price so I headed over and picked it up. Installed it and have had no problems (and sluggishness went away, as expected). I wish they would stock a larger selection of upgrade components.
