Easy to lose but holds a lot of info
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Everything is excellent except easy to lose so I don't use it that much. This drive does hold a lot of information but there is no way to hook it to anything so it's very easy to lose. It's small size is a plus but also a negative.

Bad batch
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It convinced me that the PC industry has a complete meltdown, finally, after taken over by smartphonablets. I have upgraded my numerous laptops/PCs since late 90's from 100M->192M , 250M->500M, 500M->1G , to today's 4G->8G upgraded. This is the first time I leave a product review with 1 star in my whole life. And this is also the first time I leave a review to BestBuy. The notion that a 5Gbps cell phone network is going to swipe the whole industry away is always in my mind. I use this laptop to eval a cisco's network monitoring tool that needs extra ram. I have always thought that the late 90's early 00' system bootup memory check was unnecessary because I had never experienced any memory corruption in my whole life during that period. My current laptop does not have bootup memory check. Why does the industry remove the memory checks on all computers? It got old and got cocky. The ram gave me blue screen of death when I ran the big software. I was skeptical at first until I took out the laptop's default 4G ram and attempted to boot with the PNY 4G ram. The boot would fail half of the time. I exchanged the ram at the local store. The new ram would not allow the system to boot most of the time. I returned it and bought another one that was made by Kingston from bestbuy.com . That finally worked. I will leave another 1 star feedback for the second nonfunctional ram. But I will leave a 5 star feedback for the Kinston one. I installed the ram a few times and then pull out my original ram several times and replace it with my other netbook's ram for a few days while deciding to replace it. So many installing tries is the reason I give this product the low rating for ease of installation In conclusion, PC industry is at the pivotal point to a complete change. And this situation of the defective ram shows the beginning of the end.

Did not work, many errors found using memtest86
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Installed this memory in my HP Elitebook laptop and immediately started having BSOD almost every time I used my laptop. Basically made my laptop completely unstable until I removed the memory at which point the Blue Screens went away. Took out all memory out of my laptop and ran memtest86 on the single PNY memory module and sure enough it found 65000+ errors. Won't buy PNY memory again, will stick with everyone's advice and go with Crucial.

Does not work correctly in Apple computers.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Asked for assistance from best buy computer for guy...he indicated that this memory would work in a Mac....and he had himself used it in his Mac with no issues. Installed. Could only upgrade one memory card...the Mac would not recognize both. Even with using one, I continued to get reboots and system crashed. I then bought memory specially designed for Apple...from a website and now have no problems. Disappointed that the best buy guy would mislead a customer for a sale.

Average RAM
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would have liked to purchase 4GB of 1600/12800 but this was all Best Buy had. Not a huge issue, but a bit unfortunate.

product misadvertised at store level
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Rare BB purchase disappointment...purchased RAM from two area Best Buy stores in attempts to upgrade Lenovo B560 laptop RAM...although the specs on the stores' shelf tags reflected exactly what I purchased online, the "stocked" product number at each store was different and 1.6 GB of memory speed was advertised on the packaging, so I brought my concerns to the sales reps attention...sales reps told me (and the packaging confirmed) the RAM was backwards compatible but the laptop experienced frequent Windows BSOD issues after I upgraded RAM from 2GB (1 slot) to 8GB (4 GB, 2 slots) following the purchase from the 1st BB store. Each RAM module I purchased from BB carried 1.5V of power but I find out through the manufacturer site that the laptop MB required 1.35V power per module. Proceeded to purchase the needed RAM from Crucial website after Best Buy refunded me.

Avoid! Bought a pair of 4GB = 8GB total = Failed.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Using the sale price and rewards voucher to bought two single package same exact item and then installed as a pair of 4GB to equal 8GB to run in my Intel I-5 cpu HP laptop; all was well for 1 month, now one fails and I am getting a run around in attempts to return. Moved them both to an Core-2 Mac mini and also immediately failed; removed one and works, tried each one as a separate boot up and one failed. Checked the Internet and found many complaints of same RAM chip as failing too often and too soon. Avoid the headache this brand is no longer what it was it seems.

Not Compatible with iMac (late 2009)
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The price is great, but the fact that it doesn't work makes the price pointless. I installed the RAM in my iMac (late 2009) and nothing happened. I re-installed the original RAM and everything worked as normal. I tried the new RAM again and, once again, the computer would not turn on. NOT recommended for iMac owners.
