In the recommendations I came across with this little beast for 16.99 it was dirt cheap. Upgrade was easy. Now it works in dual channel mode cuz both ram units have the same capacity and 3200 mhz speed. I recommend it because in nowadays 8 gb vs 16 gb ram difference is like day and night. Happy buying and peace!

There may be a different in frequency from the original RAM but it has worked well so far. A caveat is that the price of a 16GB is similar or lower than the price of this item last year -- the value of an 8GB RAM might not be that high. So if I were to expand my HP again, I would buy a single 16GB RAM directly, which gives me an opportunity to expand one more time by adding another 16GB at a later time.

Frankly, this kit works perfectly. She can now play modded minecraft and a few others with relative ease. The chipset she has, however, is a locked chipset with support for only up to 2666mhz and individual timings were not tune-able because of said chipset. Still fast enough for DDR4, but if it doesn't run at the rate it's intended for, then it may be the laptop.

Great performance boost for little money

Now with Windows 11, even a couple tabs in a browser will nearly max you out. Replacing one 4GB with this 8GB module, producing 12GB total provided much needed headroom. Despite the two installed RAM modules having different brands and capacities, the new configuration worked just fine. Highly recommend this product.

Two were complete replacements and the third was paired with the existing 3200 as a dual channel. All of them have been working perfectly as they are supposed to and have been in service almost continuously, a couple of them for over a month.
