I'm a fan of the original Keanu Reeves/Patrick Swayze Point Break. They re-used some character names, the premise of an undercover FBI agent getting into a group of extreme sports enthusiast criminals, and the lead criminal following a monster wave as the last stop in his quest. That's about it. Beyond that, the story is quite different, as is the drive behind Bodie's quest . If you're merely looking for a modernized version of original, you may be disappointed. If you want a true re-imagining of an old action movie, this one may satisfy. I still prefer the original, and that is the reason I wouldn't recommend it.

If you are a true fan of the original, then I am sure you will NOT care for this remake. The acting is subpar and the plot (although cool) is not executed well. The Johnny Utah of this movie is cooler than Keanu's, however the Bhodi pales in comaprison to Patrick's. The heists and action scenes are awesome and the best part about the film. However, I was not able to connect to or care for any of the support characters. I would recommend this for the action only.

I really enjoy watching the original Point Break, it's truly a classic action movie. This version has some amazing stunts and is worth watching just for the extreme sports. The story, character development, and progression was mediocre and send like its only purpose was to tie the actions sports sequences together. It's not a bad movie and can't be compared to the original classic, but it does have it's own merits with the extreme sports.

This was an ok movie but there's absolutely no reason to call it point break. Point break was a great movie. This is not point break. I would have probably liked it more if it was the same movie with a different title and different names for the characters. But when it's called Point Break, it should be Point Break. You know, bank robbers who dress up like ex presidents and surf.

It's hard to compare this to the original Point Break. Granted the original film had bigger names but time always wins and some aspects of the original have become dated. both stand out in their own ways but as far as this one goes it's about as solid and watchable of an action flick that you can hope to find. Don't go looking for story just be dazzled by the visuals.

If you're familiar with the original one this one is very similar. This one however feels more like watching an extreme sports movie than an action type movie. The stunts are amazing and the scenery are breath taking. But, that's about it. The first one is definitely better. Is it still a good watch, yes. Is it better than the first one, no.

Definitely an unnecessary remake as the original Point Break wasn't that big of a hit, but it wasn't so bad. The ugly blue tint applied definitely ruined some beautiful scenic shots, but the extreme sports are beautifully shot and look very good in 3d. It also has a very good surround track. At a better price, this is recommended.

After watching the original way back when, which I never really cared for, I was intrigued to see this reimagining of the Keanu *whoa...* film. It has some great cinematography, but lacks some element of soul. A good film invests you in the characters, but this doesn't quite get there. Still, enjoyable action for what it is.

The action sequences where great to watch with the scenary playing a part all its own. The story, however, left much to be desired. This film tries very hard to be cool and serious in a disconnected way. It tries to deliver a message of conservation paired with recklessness. James Bond does it better!

Good scenery, the plot is so so. Got it with expiring points to try my new 4K HD disk player. Not bad but no need to own a physical copy these days. OK value when on sale.

This action movie implies that it is a remake of an earlier movie. The only thing that it shares is the name and the names of some of the characters. After that the similarity ends and this is a very different movie. If you are prepared for that then you may find this movie entertaining.

The visuals are really good, but the acting is mediocre at best. Good attempt to remake a classic but how can you remake Patrick Swayze? You just can’t. Makes me want to see the original again but in all honesty, this is a good movie.

I liked the original but didn't think they needed to do a remake. If you're just looking to be entertained it was ok. There are some incredible stunts and scenery. The acting was decent. The only thing missing for me was the connection between the team was not as intense as the first one.

Point Break (2016) had a high standard set for it from it's original movie starring Keanu Reeves & Patrick Swayze. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to the previous, but the 3D effects are good and Blu-ray is always a safe bet for picture quality and sound.

I didn't really want this movie but my husband did. I loved the original movie and didn't want to ruin it by seeing this one especially because I don't care for the actor who played Utah. But I have to admit it wasn't at all bad. Very action packed. In the end I was glad we bought it.

This is a movie that was well enough left alone. I am a fan of the original and worried I would be disappointed. However, it was worth watching as the story changes and focus on special effects really presents the movie as a different experience. The original is far better though.

Overall the movie was eye candy. Which is the reason I bought it - to display it on my 4K. Past that the theme of global manmade destruction of earth and tha hippie vibe is kinda boring. I wanna be intertained not lectured. The original is far better and this one is forgettable

The packaging is nothing special and the 4k quality of the movie was mid-grade but still decent. Also the HDR could have been a bit better.

Another in the long list of recent films that make people who like nature out to be terrorists. C'mon movie-makers, it's a ridiculous premise. A few nice film sequences, like the flying suits, but even those could have been done better.

Point Break (2015) is a decent enough action flick with a superb 1080p picture. You may have some fun with it if you've never seen the original, or the Fast/Furious films, but otherwise it does tend to fall on the 'been there, done that' side of things.
