A whole new look for Pokémon

    Pros mentioned:
    Fun, Gameplay

This game gives a whole new take on Pokémon! Everything I knew from the previous games were changed coming into this one; and it excited me to have a fresh experience. They have made quite a few updates since the last installment, making it a lot smoother gameplay. I absolutely enjoy the immense interactive play you have with your Pokémon! Even if you're new to the Pokémon franchise, you won't have to worry about getting lost in the back story. A great buy for any enthusiast.

    Pros mentioned:
    Graphics

Pokémon Moon is easily the best game in the franchise, in my opinion. From the astounding visuals to the soundtrack, there is nothing else that I can say, other than it's a really good game.

    Welcome Change

    |
    Posted .

This is the best installment in the Pokémon series in a long time. They revamped the gym system in favor of the island challenge, they removed HMs to give way to the Pokémon Ride Pager and introduced Pokémon refresh. All of which are big, necessary changes for the series which was bordering on staleness. The Hawaii inspired Alola region is wonderful and dense with detail. The player movement in this game is also vastly superior to the way your character moved in X and Y. It is now more suited to a 3-dimensional plane. The creatures in this game are delightful, with Rowlet/Decidueye being a personal favorite of mine. Bottom line: this is a great game.

Bought after putting 70 hrs into Sun

    |
    Posted .

Let me begin by saying Sun/Moon is so far my favorite Pokemon generation of games. I have played, and beaten, one entry from every generation of Pokemon games, except for the Diamond/Pearl/Platinum generation. I wrote a more specific review on Sun, but I have since played over 70 hours of it. Fantastic games, and I welcome every single change they have made to the series, especially with breeding and IVs. Removal of HMs was also a fantastic idea. I want to complete the Pokedex, and none of my friends play Pokemon as fervently as I do, so I bought Moon now. Highly recommended to play at least one of these if you're a fan of Pokemon.

    It's Pokemon

    |

The summary says it all--it's Pokemon. Your kids either love it or don't know it exists yet (and if that's the case, congratulations!). I believe there are four games like this for the 2ds/3ds. Between my two boys they have three of them and love them all. They could give you in-depth details about the differences between them all (trust me) but I've learned not to ask. Suffice to say if your kids love Pokemon and have a 2ds/3ds you can't go wrong getting them this. Just check and make sure they don't have it already (again, trust me on this).

Great tweaks to an already great series

I came away from Pokemon Moon getting exactly what I came for. The Pokemon series in general rarely disappoints. However, the new changes to the series formula were a welcome addition that I didn't know I wanted. Totem Pokemon offer a new challenge. No gyms, but rather Kahunas. Plus, the setting was great. It made me wish I could go on vacation. If you're a fan of the Pokemon series, I doubt you'll be disappointed. If you're a newcomer, I think it's a decent place to start. If you haven't played since Red/Blue, this is as good a place as any to jump back in.

    Always Safe To Go.

I am really excited with the release of Pokemon Sun And Moon version. It is great that the region has been focusing a lot towards the kanto region Pokemon. With all new Alolan forms and introducing Z-Moves to the fray, is definitely going to change the competitive point of view of the Pokemon franchise. Great way to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Pokemon.

    another awesome entry

There is a lot of the same in this game. but also lots of new. new pokemon, new features, and some things that were annoying finally fixed. For example if you catch a pokemon in the wild you have the option to keep it in your party even if its full and send one to your box. Also the box is overhauled. You can now move, deposit or withdrawal with one function instead of having to leave and come back for each task. Not to mention the first example of an evolving legendary pokemon and the awesome ultra beasts. My favorite new entry so far is a toucan pokemon.

    Pokemon at its Best

    |
    Posted .

Over the years Pokémon hasn't strayed too far from its original (yet very successful) formula. Pokémon Sun and Moon don't make any drastic changes either, but do mix up the aesthetics enough to make it feel entirely fresh. The new Pokémon in the game are creative and feel as if I was comfortable with them as soon as I met them. This game is a great entry point in the franchise if you just got caught up in the Pokémon Go craze or a wonderful new adventure if you have been playing Pokémon for years. Definitely a must own for any 3ds/2ds owner.

A Solid Entry to the Series

    |
    Posted .

Fans of the original game boy games, Pokemon Sun and Moon are going to feel weird at first glance. This iteration streamlines several gameplay mechanics that take some getting used to. You'll also notice some strange barriers in the world as the game tries to steer you in the right direction and moving onto the next objective. Once you're familiar to the new bells and whistles, Sun and Moon uses new battle mechanics to keep things interesting and create a fun series of islands to explore on your search for more Pocket Monsters.

Going from the original game boy games then picking up Pokémon for the first time again since, this game truly is amazing. Not much difference between this and sun and the difference between these and ultra sun ultra moon aren’t significant only in overall story at the end of game

The newest gen may just be the best yet

Pokemon Moon is an incredible game. The Pokemon series has been going for 20 years now, and the newest generation just blew so much life back into the series. It changes things up in many fantastic ways. The graphics have never looked better. There is actually a compelling story. The new Pokemon look great. I bought this for my wife, who doesn't really play many games, and she has played almost non-stop since Christmas. If you have a 3DS, you need to own this game.

    Definitely different

    Posted .

So I have played Pokémon since the red and blue days and this game is definitely different than any game before from the main Pokémon platforms. But it's not a bad thing. I am actually enjoying the game for what it is worth even though the new Pokémon are pretty lacking in uniqueness and the original theme of animals (in my opinion) but other all lots of old school Pokémon available and the game is definitely fun to play.

    Amazing game

I bought both games because I'm a fan of the series, I've been critical of the past few generations and the minor things that they have done. This generation they took the game and changed many things and the end product surprised me. It's a well executed game with the user in mind. Simplified breeding of Pokémon, in depth IV tools and better Ev training for the Pokémon is a welcomed addition to the game. Very good game.

Been playing it for only a few days now but wow! Definitely has captured that adventurous feeling of all pokemon games. You definitely notice all the little details from avatar accessories to the trainers standing next to the pokemon in battle. Many new features which only improve the non broken system. If you enjoy pokemon's monster collecting and turn based battles, pick this game up! The fan base is definitely big here.
