Pretty decent addition to franchise
|Posted .Owned for 1 week when reviewed.Pokemon Shield was a pretty good game. Online access sucks to be a $20 payment though.

Did not expect to like this game as much as I did
|Posted .Owned for 1 week when reviewed.I would recommend this to a friendI used to play Pokemon all the time as a kid but haven't really bothered to buy any of the games since Sun and Moon. Wanted to get back into it before the Sinnoh remakes came out so I decided to pick this one up even though I didn't have high expectations based on all the negative things I had heard. It ended up being a lot more enjoyable than I expected. Sure, there's issues like easy battles until the end of the game, lack of major villains for most of the game, smaller Pokedex, etc... but it's still an enjoyable game even though it's geared towards kids. I binged it and it brought me back to the hundreds of hours I spent grinding my team to high levels. I guess even after 10+ years some things never change. The music is great, the character interactions are entertaining and I liked how they incorporated the box legendaries into the story as more than just a plot device for the evil teams. I didn't expect to become invested in the game that much but I did. I'm glad I purchased. I understand older fans feeling left out but I think that people have such high standards that they aren't willing to give anything a chance. If you are just here to play a Pokemon game and have some more "casual" fun then this is definitely a great game. My biggest complaint is that the Dynamax pokemon are way too loud. Turn the volume down on your TV or adjust the in-game sound settings. I had my TV volume ridiculously low and they were still so loud that people in the next room over were asking me what was going on.

Mommy 3
|Posted .Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.Pros mentioned:GraphicsMy 11yr old daughter received this for her birthday in October and hasn’t stopped playing yet. Eevee Evolution is in the game. Graphics are great. Compared to Let’s Go Pikachu there a lot more Pokémon’s. Hours and hours of fun adventures. She also recommends the expansion pass.

FANTASTIC ADVENTURE
|Posted .Pros mentioned:DesignThis is the first game I purchased for my quarantine-induced Pokemon Switch Lite impulse buy, and I am so happy! Listen, I've been a fan of Pokemon games since the 90s (yay childhood) and I was so impressed with this game. The wild area is visually stunning and you can ACTUALLY see the Pokemon running around in the grass. Epic. Loved doing the Gym battles and getting to Dynamax. So exhilarating. Oh, and so many of the Galarian versions of Pokemon are gorgeous -- especially Galarian Ponyta/Rapidash. Those are Shield exclusives so that's a good reason to get Shield over Sword if you're trying to make a decision. Also, Zamazenta is great.

Great Game
|Posted .Owned for 1 week when reviewed.I would recommend this to a friendAbsolutely love the game. I grew up playing silver and to see a 3D Pokémon game like this is amazing. My only complaint, which isn’t bad enough to make me give 4 stars instead of 5, is that it feels like you get a lot of really strong Pokémon early on. Minor spoiler, but you can Growlithe and Roselia early on when usually they come after the 3rd or 4th gym from what I recall. There are some big improvements, such as the Pokémon storage box system, which now allows you to seamlessly move between boxes, put in and take out Pokémon very quickly. Keep in mind the last game I played was Platinum, so maybe some changes aren’t actually that new. Highly recommend.

AWESOME GAME GET IT NOW!
|Posted .Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.Pros mentioned:FunIt is so fun! There are so many new pokemon, new gym leaders, new areas to explore. Some of my of my favorite things to do in the game are cooking and raiding. In past games, we have done catching and battling, but these are completely new features. Overall, there is nothing much to say besides that this is awesome and you should by it right now!

Get it, it's great!
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI am really enjoying playing this version. Pretty nice to see some of the older Pokémon in this version. I do also enjoy the mini games with cooking/camping aspect. Really makes you more involved and helps your Pokémon to be not only loyal but try harder. I appreciate how the story line allows you to wander and come back whenever you see fit to continue, and not as forceful as before.

Pokémon Shield
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendLoved sword, wanted to “catch em all!” I’ve been a Pokémon fan from day one (which shows my age) but I’ve always hated the marketing ploy that is you have to buy two games to complete your collection if you don’t have a friend who had the opposite version. I could understand if it was just one generation of games, but after how many gens now? Like 8? 10? I would like to be able to get them all in one purchase. That would be nice.

Good game
|Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.I would recommend this to a friendThe graphics In this game are really good. They added new features like Dynamax and Raids which I don’t think they had in the other games before this. Also you battle everything you encounter rather then just throwing balls at the Pokémon like Let’s Go Evvee which I think is better .

Good Game
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendPretty good game definitely has its flaws. Some pokemon have pretty lazy designs but then u reflect a bit on previous designs like Skunky and that pokemon from 15 years ago would fit into the design of the new game. Other ones however, are very polarizing and don’t really fit into pokemon imo. Anyways if u love pokemon it is still 100% a fun game and there are PLENTY of old in here if u don’t like the new ones.

Fun game but short story.
|Posted .Owned for 1 week when reviewed.I would recommend this to a friendI liked the game. Fun and short story. It seems that Nintendo is testing new graphics and game play with Sword and Shield. If you enjoyed prior pokemon games, you will enjoy this one too.

Hopefully the plot will improve next gen
|Posted .Owned for 4 months when reviewed.I would recommend this to a friendI think would have preferred a less repetitive overworld but the change to a fully open world is a needed change. Also seeing PKMNs do whatever in full 3D is amazing to watch.

First Pokemon Game in a While

Pokémon Shield
|Posted .Owned for 2 months when reviewed.I would recommend this to a friendI was very skeptical buying this as I know it isn’t the same as the previous entries in the Pokémon series. However as a long-term fan of the series I thought that it held up very well. I’d say it’s a great game for really anyone that’s into the series or is new to the series, it’s a Pokémon game and I don’t think it really have any issue with it. The max raids are a blast.
