    Great game for pokemon lovers

I bought this for my 18 year old son after he was in a bad car accident. He broke both ankles and his right femur so he can't put weight on his legs at all. This game kept him busy while he was bed bound. He loved playing it. He is still playing being at home.

The game is great of you never played the original Sun and Moon. I played the original and waited to get this on sale and paid about $23-$25 for and it was worth it. I enjoyed my time and the gameplay had minor changes but overall the same game.

Pokemon Ultra Moon, a Ultra disappointment.

Compared to enhanced versions of previous Pokemon games Pokemon Ultra Moon is lacking quite a bit when it comes to knew content. It added some changes to the story, and a small handful of new pokemon. If you already own Pokemon Sun/Moon the upgrade to Pokemon Ultra Sun/Moon is not really worth it IMO

    The 3DS' Swan Song...

If this is your first dabble with Gen VII of Pokemon, get this version! Better Legendaries in-game, the real time clock is set to standard daytime, the bulk of the exclusives are superior (Alolan Vulpix, Houndour line, Passimian, Blacephalon, etc.). The downside is that if you like Blue, Green, Purple, and Grey, the clothing and Festival Plaza's exclusives in UltraMoon or Moon are a better choice. You can still get Midnight Lycanroc in the wild later on, if that's what you were on the fence about. As for the game itself, the story is nearly the same as Sun/Moon until you get to post game. That's when a familiar face, as well as many others, pop in. The graphics push the limits of the classic 3DS, the system I still play on. The only thing that really slows it down is double battles. I prefer the music in these entries to original SM, especially the Ultra Recon Squad's battle theme. My recommendation is to start getting familiar with the Festival Plaza asap. It's the best way to get Poke Balls, Waters, and other items for DIRT cheap. That way you can use Poke Dollars for TMs, clothes, and other expenses. Festival Plaza also allows you to get tons of character customization outfits for talking to other people on Wi-Fi. And all it takes is just to link to the Pokemon Global Link. You can do a simple Random Trade, or deposit a Pokemon to trade for ones you don't have, and then you get A LIST of other players to get shops and clothes from. I like to check daily because people will have entire outfits that are hard to get, and the currency in Festival Plaza is just answering text questions! Poke Pelago is also excellent for getting gobs of Berries, Fossils, Gold Bottle Caps, evolutionary stones, and even EVing Pokemon! You just deposit them onto the island, and come back a day later. This is sooo convenient for us that have jobs where we can't play Pokemon all day long. It's a good way to get perfectly EVed Pokemon, and even raise their levels for doing nothing. You get Poke Pelago on the second island after battling the Fire Trial, which is about 2/5ths the way in to the main game. Some new additions like Mantine Ride, battle poses, Ultra Space, and some BROKEN Z Stones are sure to entice people as well. Mantine Ride is the best way to get Move Tutors of any generation yet, as you get to play Tony Hawk on the back of manta while dodging Tentacruels in the surf. I average about 9 points per ride, which equates to quite a few really useful moves for just 4 minutes of the mini game. Things like Knock Off, Stealth Rocks, Gunk Shot, Heal Bell, and Liquidation are highly coveted moves not only in-game but also for online battling. The only reason I gave this one star less is that it's almost a carbon copy of Sun. We did this 20 years ago with things like Yellow and Crystal, but the difference is that Sun and Moon are very small games. They're in a tiny area, and the main story is shorter than say Black/White. Also, I cannot stand SOS Battles, and in these games you are forced to endure that mechanic all through the generation. But if this is your first experience with Gen VII, it's an easy 5/5. Another great Pokemon entry and a gorgeous sendoff for the highly successful Nintendo 3DS.

A Major Update from the Original

This game adds a lot of extra content onto the release of Sun & Moon released a year earlier. That being said, there is pretty much no point in even getting the original versions of the game with these available. Not really a comment about the product, but it is pretty annoying to release a game, then release same game with extra content that could not be added onto the original release a year after. This practice is basically just buying extra content and extra story chapters for the price of a whole new game. After buying it, the first game just a year before almost seems like it was a waste of time and money. Seems like it was even a waste of time making it in the first place. But this has been a long trend with this franchise, so you know in advanced just to wait for the second rendition of the game with extra content.

I haven't really played a Pokémon game since yellow way back on the Gameboy Color. I must say Gamefreak and The Pokémon Company have really improved in game play and added much more to do since those early games. I picked up Pokémon Moon after getting Ultra Moon to see the differences. Some of the story is changed, maps are slightly different, new NPC'S, new side quests. Essentially you're getting Pokémon Moon with some added tweaks to the game that manage to make it feel fresh and new and not all like you're just playing Moon all over again. Get it while you can. It let's you be a kid again yearning to get out of the house and see the world with your trusty sidekick at your side.

I was at Best Buy, waiting for them to finish up with preparation for my pick up order. I have a 2DS XL just for the sole purpose of buying THIS game, but I never got around to it. Decided to browse around and stumbled upon this. Guess what? Ultra Sun was 40 dollars, this game was 18 dollars. EIGHTEEN. Insane. I'm rating it 5 stars NOT because of the game, but because of the price they had for the game. Game is obviously solid or I wouldn't have bought a 2DS XL just to play it to begin with.

To make long story short, this game is overflowing with content. There are so many things to do outside of the main story’s. I really appreciate the game recognizing and acknowledging the main character as the champion after you beat the game the first time. One of the best features is the ability to customize the clothing of your character. I didn’t play the original Sun/Moon, but this game is still a blast. I do find it a bit unfortunate that the National Dex was taken out, but glad it’s still possible to capture the generation 1 starters.

    Enjoying my Playthrough

If you did not like Sun or Moon then this game is definitely not for you as it does not have enough changes in it to make someone who didn't like those games change their mind. However, it does have enough small changes in the storyline to make it worth another play through if you did enjoy Sun and Moon. My favorite part about the game is the ability to catch Pokémon from previous generations as I was able to catch my favorite Pokémon from Generation 1. I recommend this game to anyone who enjoyed Sun and Moon and doesn't mind playing through the same story line (with small changes) a second time.

I bought this game for my 10 year daughter to see if she would fall in love with Pokémon like I did 20 years ago. Not so much on her behalf, I think there’s just too much other distractions like iPads, kindles, switch, ps4 mobile phone for her to sit there and really get into the game. I do t fault the the game for it though. It has updated graphics and is still addicting and a lot of fun to play, the story line is great and serves a purpose. Hopefully she will continue on playing by giving a second chance, like when the wi-fi crashes.

Many awesome features that you don’t get in the regular version of the game, amazing gameplay and internal mini games that allow you to catch Pokémon you wouldn’t and won’t have the chance to catch in the regular version of the game. Also, extended storyline! (The mom isn’t always bad!)

    Definitive Version of Pokemon Moon

    |
    |
    Posted .

Pokemon Ultra Sun can be considered the definitive version of its prior release (Pokemon Moon). This can be said due to the bonus content added, which covers new Pokemon to find and capture, the Ultra Recon Squad and Team Rainbow Rocket. Other improvements can be found in Mantine Surf and a streamlined story mode that reduces the duration of some unnecessarily long cutscenes that were included in the original Pokemon Moon. New Z Moves also add new and interesting techniques to the game. Unfortunately, the game still does not allow the player to capture the 800+ Pokemon from all previous generations, but it is enough of a change to warrant this improved release. I would recommend this game primarily to those who have not yet played Pokemon Sun/Moon.

I purchased this game for my son who is a major Pokémon fan. He could hardly put it down he was having so much fun with it. After he completed it he restarted the game so he could play with a different team. He said it’s one of the best Pokémon games he ever played. So, based on his feedback, if you’re a Pokémon fan this will not disappoint.

My daughter has recently fallen in love with Pokemon so I got her the game. She loves it but she is just learning to read this year and the game has lot of reading. I was hoping it would encourage her to read more but she tends to skip past it and get confused later on the story and the current objective. She doesn't play it as much but I expect her to more this summer now that she is more comfortable with reading. New game is coming out in 2019

If you've already played and enjoyed Pokemon Moon, you might wanna skip this title... unless, of course, you're just one of many avid Pokemon lovers, in which case, I say go for it! If you haven't played Moon or Sun, I would definitely recommend going straight into Ultra to enjoy all the additional quests, mini-games and Pokemon that have been added. After all, this game is literally just an upgraded version of the same game.

Better dex distribution, new surprise ending, multiple new Pokemon, new moves, different beginning, all nonevent legendaries, new tracks complements previous GREAT ones, o-powers back with new name, a HUGE postgame surprise in some surprising characters and the strongest "final boss" ever in the series (and I'm talking about the story, not the champion, but that is a surprise too) Moon was good but Ultra Moon manages more in every way
