The title says it all. This may be the best game in the series since the DS days. An expansive open word to explore, an engaging story and a whole new take on the world and lore of the series. A must play!

Pokémon Legends: Arceus is a groundbreaking entry in the Pokémon franchise that successfully reimagines the beloved formula in an entirely new light. This game takes us back to a time long before the modern Pokémon world we're familiar with, offering a refreshing departure from the traditional structure while maintaining the essence that makes Pokémon special. From the moment you step into the ancient, untamed Hisui region, it's clear that Pokémon Legends: Arceus is something unique. The open-world design allows for an unprecedented level of exploration and discovery. Gone are the linear paths and static encounters—instead, you're encouraged to explore every nook and cranny, forging your own path in a world teeming with life. The gameplay has undergone a remarkable transformation. The introduction of real-time combat adds an extra layer of strategy to battles, making you think on your feet and adapt to each situation. The seamless transition between capturing Pokémon and battling wild creatures makes the experience more immersive and cohesive than ever. One of the most remarkable aspects of the game is its narrative. Pokémon Legends: Arceus weaves a captivating tale that delves into the origins of the Pokémon-human relationship. As you work to establish the first Pokédex and uncover the mysteries of the region, you'll become deeply invested in the characters and their struggles. The way the story unfolds is both engaging and emotionally resonant. Visually, Pokémon Legends: Arceus strikes a perfect balance between the old and the new. The Hisui region is beautifully rendered, capturing the essence of a pre-modern era while incorporating recognizable elements from the series. The artistic direction maintains a sense of familiarity while allowing for a fresh perspective on Pokémon designs and environments. Despite its innovations, the game still retains the core spirit of collecting and training Pokémon. The addition of various tools and techniques to interact with Pokémon in the wild, such as befriending and feeding, adds a new layer of depth to the gameplay. This mechanic feels natural and enriches the bond between player and Pokémon. There are a few technical hiccups that can momentarily detract from the experience, such as occasional frame rate drops and texture pop-ins. However, these minor issues are easily forgiven considering the scale of the game and the strides it has made in pushing the series forward. Pokémon Legends: Arceus is a remarkable evolution of the Pokémon franchise that pays homage to its roots while pushing boundaries in exciting ways. Its captivating narrative, immersive world, and innovative gameplay mechanics make it a must-play for both longtime fans and newcomers alike. This game sets a new standard for what Pokémon games can be, and it's a journey that no Pokémon enthusiast should miss.

Pokémon have distinct behaviors: some flee, others attack on sight. The environment changes depending on time of day and weather. This ecosystem-style approach makes the world feel alive and reactive in ways no mainline Pokémon game has managed before.

Finally there is some spice to the Pokémon genre. I love the regular Pokémon games but with this one being open world type and being able to catch the Pokémon in the wild it just seems like a step in the right direction. I would love to keep having Pokémon games that follow this formula over the same old gym leaders/elite system

The game is fun and the graphics are great. There are plenty of missions and requests to keep you busy throughout the game. Some pokemon can be a bit challenging to capture but overall a fun and satisfying game.

Has great graphics and love the story line. This is the way to go if you are choosing between this and Scarlet/Violet. It has none of the graphic or choppy movements that those games are known for.

Pretty fun game. If you’re a fan of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, this goes over the creation of the Sinnoh region while offering fun game play. Would be better if there were an online feature to battle friends!

I love this game because I'm a bit tired of the samold formula most pokemon games go through. I would love more games where you're not always trying to get through the game to the elite 4 and all that to be honest. I love the research aspect of this is and how it rings a bit different overall.

Easily the best pokemon game ive played in forever. It feels like the game I wanted, no gyms, no generic plot line and gameplay. Its about exploration and pokemon first. It feels very freeing and fresh for the franchise. Shiny Hunting is a blast this time through. The characters and setting are fun. If not for Elden ring I would probably still be playing non stop for hours a day.
