Nice deviation from the mainline of games

The mechanics of encountering wild Pokémon are different than say in Sun or Moon, but they are a good way to introduce people into Pokémon that might have played Pokémon Go as their first game, which this game does integrate with nicely; the game adopts the capture mechanics of Pokémon Go into encountering wild Pokémon, but you still fight Trainers and Gym Leaders the old fashioned way. It’s a beautiful and nostalgic retake on Yellow Version, which personally was the first Pokémon game I ever played back in the late 90s as a kid. If you are a fan of Pokémon and enjoy the new remake wave that the gaming industry has committed to recently, you’ll love this.
