Customers praise Pokémon Scarlet as a fun and enjoyable game with a great open world and story. Many players highlight the positive aspects of the game's design and narrative. However, some customers report experiencing performance issues, including lag and glitches that detract from the overall experience. These technical problems, while noted, don't entirely overshadow the positive feedback on the game's core features.

GameFreak keeps coming out with bangers - very open world with an open story, you can play it as you want.

The story is great I think. But the lag while playing is very noticeable. Would wait until they fix the issues to buy unless you dont care about that and just want to play.

This game had some excellent concepts, but struggled to execute them well. The game also struggles to run well on the Switch, which only adds to the gameplay problems. These problems begin with the introduction of an open world to the Pokémon universe. This is not a problem in itself, but introduces significant problems in terms of storytelling and progression. The basic premise of the game leans into the idea of freedom. Players are told they may play any of the three storylines however they want, but are faced with significant limitations to gameplay if they choose to sideline any of these. These limitations include, but are not limited to Pokémon level limits and reduced platforming capabilities. Waiting to do any of these will mean forced backtracking or dealing with a handicap as you attempt to proceed without these capabilities.
This game was largely fun to play, but struggled primarily in those areas. I want to like it, but I have a hard time going back because of the technical problems, the aforementioned limitations, and the removal of revamping of some favorite features such as shiny hunting or breeding in ways that are less compelling. This is a game in a franchise experiencing growing pains. The features in this game would be better implemented in a linear storyline, and struggle to feel at home in an open world game. A truly compelling open-world Pokémon game is possible, but will take much more of an overhaul to the franchise than this version offers.

A fun game in the series, while generation 8 was pretty lackluster, Scarlet and Violet are a breath of fresh air! An open world where you decide in what order the story plays out!

If you enjoy pokemon then this really is the game of all time. Minus the power point level performance. (Not Best Buy's fault)

While there are a bunch of (less than) fun glitches in the game, the story is pretty spot on as a journey of you and the friends you make.

It’s actually been a pretty addicting experience going out and hunting all new types of Pokémon. The Tera typing feature allows for a lot of new interesting combinations on older Pokemon. For example, a Growlithe with a Dark Tera Type so it get’s a boost on moves like Bite and Crunch is a cool and unique idea.
This game also features co-op, which my girlfriend and I have been using a lot to play together. It’s limited in some areas, but allows us to keep an eye out for Pokémon we’re each interested in. Can’t wait to see how they expand in the idea in future games!

Some missing features from legends would have been welcome, and there are some technical issues, but overall this is a fun return to the classic style.
