Thanks to COVID, I had the chance to play Pokemon Shield for the first time since childhood. I still love the playing experience and franchise, never gets old. I appreciate the few changes from the old school Pokemon that made it easier to play without having to grind as much and be able to focus on the story. Also worth noting that the current sale price ($39.99) is better than used prices at GameStop right now.

My son loves the game but he beat it quickly. So we bought both sword and shield.

Was skeptical after purchasing detective pikachu for the switch but this game does not disappoint. Good graphics, challenging battles and a variety of activities makes this a must buy.

Pokemon Shield takes the Pokemon formula and makes a few changes for it's console debut. The Wild area is the first time a Pokemon game has a camera that can be freely controlled with the right joystick. There are online raid battles and more elements that makes this new Pokemon game a step in the right direction for the future of the franchise. There is also a $30.00 expansion pass rolling out this year that will add new elements, story and over 200 returning Pokemon/New Pokemon not in the base game. Pokemon hasn't evolved much since the first game but with this Switch release the Pokemon Company seems to be stepping into new territory for the franchise.

I bought the game for my 8 year old son, according to him, the game is very good, fun and a good interaction. I particularly found it expensive but the intention is to make them happy !
