If you are a fan of a previous pokemon game you'll love this game. It still feels like a pokemon game while adding in a bunch of new features and gameplay aspects such as the big open wild area. I would consider it a must buy for many switch owners.

Super fun game! Have been playing non-stop since Christmas.

I’ve been playing Pokémon since Yellow Version on the GameBoy so you can clearly say I’m a big fan. Besides Let’s Go Eevee/Pikachu, this is the 1st storyline game that’s completely new on this system. Of course the other game is also a storyline but it’s almost more of a remake of the original while adding newer features while this game is just completely new. The graphics are amazing & all the features they implemented catch your attention. I was sad that not all the Pokémon leading up until now aren’t added to the game but a good chunk of them are & recently they’ve been adding sort of like expansion packs for once you reach a certain part of the game. I absolutely love this game & highly recommend it. It’s amazing as a 1st game even though it’ll have the most of almost everything compared to the previous games.

This game blew me out of the water with the graphics and story. This is definitely one of the more challenging Pokémon games, and I loved actually getting to fail at some of the gyms. I am still not done but I might immediately play it again!

This game has been very enjoyable and keeps a lot of the elements of the classic handheld series. The pokemon battles are reminiscent of pokemon stadium and colosseum which brings back good memories. While it's easy to level up quickly, the story maintains a good bit of challenge to still require some strategy, though it was easy to get through the game without fainting a single time.

After ~25 years we finally have the Pokemon I dreamed of as a child! Well, sort of... Pros: - It's the classic Pokemon system but in full HD! - Lots to see and do, standard story/music/gameplay - Hours of excitement if you must catch 'em all - Nice, large open world with minimal loading Cons: - If you've played one, you've played them all at this point - Graphics are great on handheld, merely so-so on a larger (65"+ 4k TV) - Missing some Pokemon, has most of the classics so not a huge deal for me but this really isn't acceptable from a supposed full fledged entry - Seriously, there are now so many Pokemon...we really don't need a new 100+ with each game when we're missing older generations of Pokemon by the hundreds.

I'm just your typical grumpy middle-age male who still plays Pokemon and and if anyone tells me that I am too old to play Pokemon well they're going to get a kick in their shins.

I play this every day. Very addicting to say the least.

Pokemon has made it to the Nintendo Switch, and it is better than ever. Love the new way to explore and find new pokemon as well as the look for this new area. The new pokemon are fun and the story is good as always. I definitely recommend.

To start, I've been playing Pokemon since Red on Gameboy. I've played every installment since, and this version is more of the same. That's a positive and a negative. First, this game is EASY. Not much strategy needed and it's pretty straightforward. Open world is fun, but not sure the end game will keep me around playing much longer. Main story is basic, but entertaining.

Really enjoyed the story. Map style took some getting used to but overall like gameplay, graphics and controls. My one complaint is that once the story is complete, there are minimal options to continue to train when you’re not battling a friend in the same room. Most other options will balance the pokemon to wipe away any advantage you gain from the many hours you put in.

I really have been enjoying this game (I just completed the fifth gym). It’s definitely not too challenging and it looks really good. The first hour of the game is pretty slow but it picks up from there.

The game plays perfectly fine and it was so nice to have a Pokémon game for the switch, to bounce between handheld play and TV play, but I wish Game Freak put a little more love into this one.

One of the top games that you can get for the switch. This one is a must-have. They have upgraded everything from the graphics, to story line, have sooo many pokemon to catch. Lots of bang for your buck.

Most definately my second favorite Pokemon game behind Acerus! Great story, a little bit more room to move around freely in the game and the graphics are amazing!

A lot of features are missing (National Dex), but the gameplay is great, and the story is also pretty good. However, some of the animations feel a bit rushed and lazy. If you're fine with that then this game would be a fun experience.
