Good game and worth the time if you’re a Pokémon fan

Bought this game because it was the twin to another. Kids love it!!

This new mainline Pokémon game is very similar to its predecessors. If you enjoyed the previous entries, you will enjoy this Sword/Shield. However, don’t have high expectations because it’s a Switch title. Unfortunately the developers cut a lot of corners with this game. The game has very poor animations for 2019 home console standards. Graphics aren’t terrible. They’re similar to the previous entries but with better lighting and texture improvements. The reason I’m giving it 2 stars is mainly due to the fact that the game is extremely easy and it hand holds/spoon feeds the player throughout the adventure. The game basically tells you which Pokémon type to use at each gym, it remembers what’s super effective and what isn’t, it allows you to build a team that covers all Pokémon types before you even reach the first gym (which means you basically one hit KO all your opponents as long as you are using super effective moves which the game tells you). If it wasn’t for me being so addicted breeding Pokémon and catching Pokémon I would’ve beat the story in less than 15 hours. Oh, and breeding is almost pointless now because you can change natures with mints. So breeding is only needed for egg moves now, which makes it so much easier to build a “competitive” team. In summary, I would recommend this game when it drops to $40.

Continues the same style as previous pokemon editions. Newer characters add to the interest. I would recommended this to other Pokemon enthusiasts.
