Purchased for my 6 and 7 year old. They love it. It's a bit heavy on the reading at times for kids who just want to get to the heart of the game and don't care as much for story line, but it's a gorgeous Pokemon game and the battle graphics are vibrant and immersive.

"Is Pokemon Sword/Shield the best Pokemon game? No. Is it still fun and enjoyable? Yes! It's visually appealing and I thoroughly enjoyed the story. However, once I finished the main story I didn't really feel the need to continue playing (no catching them all this time). I only picked it up again when the DLC came out. It's certainly not for everyone, but I would still recommend it."

Nintendo Switch products are always a favorite with our grandkids. This is a Christmas present so I am sure we will hear all about it. I will update the review based on their feedback. All I know is that they have all and talkin and talkin about Pokemon toward and Pokemon Shield.

I haven't played a Pokemon game since Yellow for the Game Boy and I took this Switch version as an opportunity to get into the franchise. This game is perfect for exactly that. The story mode is a fun and simple point of entry that explained most of the mechanics more than well enough for me to get on board and learn the ins and outs of collecting and battling Pokemon. There is still plenty of depth that is currently beyond me, but this game hooked me enough to stick with it.

I was so excited when Pokemon Sword and Shield were announced and the games are extremely fun! Yes you miss the National Pokedex but that is honestly a very minor issue! There is enough to keep you playing for quite a while and sub quests and side things to do. Highly enjoy it and recommend it to all ages!

Really fun game! Love being able to trade with others, and a good addition to the Pokémon franchise.

The Pokemon series you know and love. The formula is still intact and has been iterated upon for the current generation. The game looks fantastic and is just more of a very fun franchise. As long as you don't go in expecting the series to be turned on its head, this is a great offering in the series.

A Pokemon game on the Nintendo Switch. The graphics are nice, they made some bad choices when this game launched but redeemed themselves assuming you BUY THE EXPANSION PASS (SEASON PASS). The content is worth it, but would have been nice if it was a part of the base game.

My son loves this game. He has so much fun. It's like if he was actually in the game. He gets so into it. The only thing he says is he chose the wrong partner so he wished he could switch it without having to restart the game so now he wants the Shield so he can choose the partner he wants.

Thought I’d pick this up, got the other edition. Pretty good game.

I bought this video-game for my daughter. She was expecting for it long time ago... and it really worth it! She is a pokemon fan and since the first day she has not stopped playing. I can't tell you much more of the game itself but as a father, I’m sure it was a great gift for my little princess!

Great pokemon game! Love that we can finally play on the big screen, lots of new Pokemon to catch

An avenge Pokémon game with ok Pokémon, boring story and bland graphics.

Love it, highly recommended for any Pokémon fan. Instantly opened it and started playing and played for hours. The storyline is great and doesn’t stray too far from the Pokémon games we all know and love! They even introduced a TON of new Pokémon that are super adorable!

Great game. Much better than the Let’s go and even better than the brilliant diamond game they brought back. This to me is the best Pokémon game on the switch. The family put many hours into this one and we got our money’s worth.

I haven't played a proper Pokémon game since Crystal version on the Game Boy Advance and so far I am loving this game. I'm about 25 hours in, have caught around a 125 Pokémon and have five gym badges and I can't get enough of this game.

Very addicting catching all of the Pokémon and advancing in the game. Also a lot of online and competitive options and in depth breeding and min maxing for end game and pvp. My only complaint is that the game is a bit too easy for the story so that is why I took one star off. Otherwise, the gameplay and graphics and feel of the game is great. This is my first Pokemon game since Pokemon red and blue when I was 13 by the way so I’m just returning to the series.

So far only about halfway done, but already the best Pokemon game I've played. Yes, the Pokedex is smaller, but it's still filled with tons of Pokemon right from the start. The gym battles are fun and have extra little puzzles to solve. The outworld is fun and everything about this game is great!

Was hesitant at first because of a negativity online, but still pre-ordered. This game is great for quick bursts or long play sessions, with many quality of life changes for the better. No, it’s not a revolution, but it’s a comfortable trip down memory lane that constantly puts a smile on my face.

Pokemon Let's Go! Pikachu/Eevee were good games but they were so different from the way the main games played. This goes right back to the original gameplay with a few changes that seem to expand the game for the better like raids and being able to play with others online. 10/10 would buy again!
