I've owned the game for almost over a year at the time of writing this review, while I am a big Pokemon fan, I was let down by a lot of the news of not all the pokemon coming back, However, at this point and time most, NOT ALL, have been added back to the game. The game itself is very friendly if it's your first entry into the series. I'd recommend this game to all ages.

Gift for one of my sons. We used to play together when they were little boys. This game is great! Nice to play with my grown boys and grandkids. Good clean fun game for the whole family! All ages will enjoy at a great price too.

Alot of people across the internet have mixed reviews about this game. But keep in mind this is pokemon. Pokemon was never a game where you got super political about the gameplay, pokemon was always the game where you bought it if you enjoyed it and that's it.

Still a good installation in the Pokemon series, even if the story is lacking compared to earlier games. There are so many unanswered questions throughout the game, it feels rather hand-holding, and there are things such as obligatory EXP Share that I wish were optional, but overall still a good game, especially if you're new to the series!

Bought this for my 8-year-old son and he loves it! Actually, he hasn't put down his Nintendo Switch since it came. Highly recommend this product for Pokemon fans. Very elaborate in design from what little I've gathered while eavesdropping on him...

I had a blast playing through this game! There have clearly been updates to graphics and display since I last played (sapphire/ruby edition in early 2000s). Gameplay is just as I remember and brought back memories for me.

I know there has been a lot of controversy surrounding this game from the diehards, but as a casual (haven't played since 1st gen), I think this game is great! The overworld is massive, the amount of pokemon is satisfying (for me), and the controls are fluid.

I've been with pokemon since 1999 and have played literally every version that's been portable. This is easily the best game they've made since the Gold and Silver series. Really brings me back to how I felt when I first discovered Pokemon. Bravo!

I haven't played a Pokemon game since they switched over to the DS system. I bought this game when I bought the switch, and I was not disappointed. It is a great balance between learning new game mechanics and the old ones from the days of Red and Blue.

Love the Pokemon games. As a fan of traditional Japanese Roleplaying Games, the Pokemon games have been the best option to enjoy new content like that. This one feels more like the older games than the Let's Go titles. Worth picking up

Despite the whole nationaldex complaints, this is still a very fun game. Take it as a reset to help make the game more balanced. My biggest gripe is you can encounter pokemon way stronger than you, and you can't catch them until you get the appropriate badge. Also, catch rates are a mess for high level Pokemon. One saving grace is you can catch lower level pokemon at full health if you are way above them.

My 10 year old loves Pokémon... and when he heard this was coming out, it made the top of his Christmas list... lucky Best Buy had it in stock and I opted for in store pickup... perfect in and out experience... game worked great and my son loved it...

Pokémon just keeps getting better and better definitely worth the money

We loved this game, the graphics and playing are beautiful and make it so much more fun. Just like you are a real Pokemon trainer! It has been fun for the whole family and we love to play it and gotta catch them all! <3

The whole new open world environment can be a little overwhelming, but it was definitely a breathe of fresh air for the game. You can see the what’s happening in front of you, like what Pokémon you are going to encounter and it’s just overall a good game.

My daughter loves the game. It stays true to the Pokémon themes but has some cool new gameplay features compared to the original Red/Blue days. It seems easy enough to pick up too as it’s her first real console/handheld game.

The new features added the game really give a ton of life to the pokemon formula. Gym battles are now a sporting event spectacle and the wild area is so much fun to just run around and see. Raid battles are also a lot of fun to play with your friends.

There are the obvious flaws with this game; it doesn’t include all the Pokémon, it’s a re-skin of past games, the graphics are miserable, etc. While all this is true, the game is still genuine fun at its core, and the wild area coupled with raid battles make for replayable experience that I can enjoy by myself or with friends.

Fans of the series and newcomers alike will find this to be an excellent entry in the Pokemon mainline series! A huge world to explore, tons of monsters to train and collect, and much more to be enjoyed in this adventure! A must buy for Switch owners.

Been playing all of the Pokemon games since Red. This one definitely takes it to the next level. The nintendo switch allowed the developers the freedom they never had before in terms of graphics and gameplay. I am loving it.
