A minor update to one of the most "okay" pokemon games. If you've played the original Sun or Moon, there is almost no reason to play this version. I didn't love Pokemon Moon, despite being a fan of the series. Playing Pokemon Ultra Sun made me realized I hated Sun and Moon. These games are incredibly slow and treat you like you've never played a video game before in your life. I suppose if you want to play Sun/Moon you should skip the originals and play this version, since it does introduce some upgrades. However, they are still the same boring Sun and Moon games. If you want a good Pokemon game play any other Pokemon game.

If you have played the original sun and moon then you mostly know what to expect here. There is a slightly expanded story line and new Pokemon that weren't available before.

I've been a Pokémon fan my whole life, but only played the games regularly in its first generation. Returning to the franchise in earnest with Ultra Sun, I was pleased to see how many quality-of-life improvements were introduced to the gameplay; little things like being able to run right away, quick access to your Pokédex; icons to denote where Pokémon live on the map; and many more. It just makes the game a lot easier to play--allowing you to focus on the more important stuff like training your Pokémon, catching new ones, and battling--which is as easy as ever. I think it's great for old fans, and new ones alike.

Same game as original Sun game. Just a few differences. More Pokemon to catch though. 400!

The game is pretty good and highly recommended. Players will have fun catching the Pokemon and going after the Ultra Beasts while stopping Team Rocket's leader Giovanni who's formed a new team called Team Rainbow Rocket comprised of every villain leader ever from prior Pokemon game criminal organization teams except for Guzma I believe since he's just a schoolyard gang bully leader who's entire thing is thinking their big stuff but are very pathetic at what they do..almost as if that's the whole point of them. XD Fans of Pokemon or RPGs in general go play this game, you won't be disappointed.

This game is fun, lots of pokemon are in it, and the new Z move and how the gameplay changed is a big deal and makes it a refreshing move for the series.

Pokemon fans will enjoy this, it's another pokemon game, good for adults and kids.

What a game! From all the new features to adding some nostalgia with aspects from the past games of the series, I could not put it down.

Ultra Sun is a fun update to an already great game. The added return of Giovanni is a little nugget of coolness for longtime Pokefanatics.

Amazing graphics on this game! I don’t personally play it but my son does and looks amazing and he has lots of fun loves it!!!

Its one of the best pokemon games, it has everything for a pokemon fan hope its not the last one for the 3ds.

This game was advertised as being an alternate take on Pokemon Sun which is only half true. The game feels more like the original Sun but with a few add-ons and a couple of changes. That's not to say it makes it a bad game because it's still enjoyable and the post-game content is MUCH better now.

Full disclosure I have not played Sun, only this version of Ultra Sun. I would definitely recommend this game for people trying to get by for Sword/Shield. The 2DS is a cheap option and this was a no brainer as a first game for it and it’s been awesome. Grinding to beat totems, Pokemon that glow. Storyline isn’t minding blowing but they tried. Remember their main customers, young kids. It’s great, buy it play it.

I have been playing Pokemon games since the original Red and Blue was released. The throwback to the original Pokemon in this game with the aloha versions are nice as any person who has been playing since the original has an affinity for the original 151 Pokemon. Anyway, the new Pokemon are better than some of the previous ones and the design of them has some decent thought put into them unlike some other ones (looking at you key-chain Pokemon). The game has hundreds of hours of content, a lot that I will never particularly use but could be fun for some other gamers. Anyway, well worth a buy and a great game.
