Price-matched & Polaris 9650iq is Worth the Money

TLDR—Over-the-phone Price Match and purchase was super easy, and the Polaris 9650iq definitely takes the hard work out of cleaning your pool! I was able to price-match this with Home Depot’s sale price over the phone with a BB Agent. BTW, that over-the-phone purchase experience was awesome and super simple and quicker than I expected! And, being a Totaltech Member, I believe I have GSP/extended warranty at no additional charge (so saving even more compared to Home Depot’s extended warranty option). Now for the product itself, I’ve had it for 2.5 weeks (used about once or twice a week) and love it! It has several cleaning options from deep clean (bottom of pool and side walls) to quick clean (bottom only). I love that I can monitor, program, and control it from my phone with the existing iAquaLink app along with the rest of my pool automations. It really picks up just about everything (they even have additional filter basket options you can buy for fine sand/silt and ultra-fine). The filter baskets are super easy to clean out with a hose, and the cord is tangle-free just like it stated. And, I love that it comes with a storage caddy that makes it easy to wheel around and keep it out of the way when not in use. I only have 2 minor things that I’m not super impressed with: 1) Its turns are not that precise, so the cleaning path/pattern is very random, so being the perfectionist I am, I wonder if it really cleaned every inch of the floor bottom and walls; 2) The manual controls on the app are very laggy and so sometimes I wonder if it received a command and hit the button again too soon…I’ve learned to adjust my button presses to account for the lag in receiving the command. Also, it’s not that great on steps (but that’s okay, I just use my pool brush to push anything off the stairs to the pool floor); and, I have a tanning shelf, that I also brush off, since I believe it needs to be submerged to work properly.

Can never connect to the app, keeps falling from the wall, and keeps spinning around in circles like crazy.

This robot works awesome. I drop in the pool and walk away and do yard work while it's cleaning my pool. The cord never gets tangles like on one of the other reviews on here. This robot is also very easy to work. Just drop it in the pool, hit start and away it goes. I am very happy with this product.

Cord constantly tangles and untangling it is more work thank using a manual pool vacuum sweep.
