Polaroid Flip is great
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wonderful camera. I purchased this cause my generation 1 Polaroid was on the fritz and needed a replacement Polaroid. The weight, the protection I feel from flipping it closed. I really enjoy the camera and the flash on this thing is beautiful.

Excellent except film prices
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros: The camera uses sonar autofocus to automatically select from four built-in lenses based on how far your object is. The lenses work great in any lighting. The flash helps even out light exposure on the skin in most lighting conditions. New foldable design protects the lens from damage and helps seal the camera from the elements. Has a built-in rechargeable battery. Negatives: Film should be stored in a fridge to preserve its chemicals. Black-and-white I-Type film costs the same as color: $17.99 per pack of eight pictures No lens filters available for the Flip. Requires dedication and expertise to get great exposures out of color film. Summary: Excellent camera as a novelty item. They have done so much to improve this model but the higher cost of film holds it back. Considering how much it costs for film the margin for error on bad shots is basically zero otherwise that gets expensive quick. I think this checks every box you could want for a modernized retro product but until the film prices come down this will inevitably be in a drawer like the originals.

Retro camera
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Polaroid Flip Instant camera comes nicely boxed. It comes with a thick strap . The strap is nice ( and needed) since the camera is larger than our cell phones so this takes some getting used to. The camera looks and feels like a retro Polaroid camera but with modern updates and an optional app connections. A package of film came with the camera with eight prints. The camera can be charged with a USB connection and it has a good battery life. My first few photos were not great but were of a typical quality for instant photos and with some practice, they improved. Probably the downside is the cost of the film since when experimenting with how to use this, it is possible to snap some photos that have some flaws. This camera is a good choice for someone that wants prints and instant gratification. It has a sonar auto focus with four zones. This camera would be great for birthday parties or family events where you could capture everyone and instantly provide a printed photo. It gives you that real retro feel with some modern updates.

My new favorite camera!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have fond memories of instant photos, memories of my family at very special moments. Now, I love having the opportunity to capture memorable moments and have them in this format. I have used different digital cameras, both DSLR and mirrorless, but having an instant camera is on another level. Unboxing is simple: the box contains the camera, a neck strap, and a user guide. The camera has a rechargeable battery. The design is very practical, with a cover that protects the lens, which also houses the flash. It has a red button for focusing and taking photos. It has a Sonar autofocus system that determines which lens to use depending on the distance of the subject. At the bottom is the compartment for inserting photos and printing them. You can download the app to make some adjustments, but the essentials for use are directly on the camera. In terms of performance, the photos are of the quality expected from this type of camera. We are talking about a compact device that captures photos and prints them instantly. The photos need to be left to develop for a few minutes in a place out of direct light; they are not studio-quality prints. For this reason, I believe it is important to choose carefully which moments you want to capture. While our phones allow us a fairly wide margin of error, this type of camera does not, especially considering the cost and amount of photo paper included in each package. In conclusion, I can say that it is a good product that is easy and fun to use, evokes nostalgia, and encourages the user to choose which moments they want to capture in a snapshot and preserve for posterity. If you are looking for an instant camera that is affordable, easy to use, has an excellent design, and is ready to take out of the box and use, this Polaroid Flip is a good alternative, and I can recommend it.

WHAT FUN LOOKS LIKE
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Where do I start. Quick and sturdy shipping. Relatively inexpensive price comparatively. on to the gist of things: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------It is just the same old Polaroid Camera that everyone has always loved and most likely always will. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Super simple, fast and easy to use, point and shoot, its that simple. Not the best at super close up shots and not the best at long distance zoom in shots, and certainly not the best at super fast action shots, but for what it is it is the best in a room full of friends and or relatives at any significant gathering, break out this camera and the fun begins. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- And yes almost everyone still believes if you shake it back and forth that makes the picture develop quicker, even though that isn't true. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- And they were nice enough to send along a pack of film with it.

Nostalgia photo ritual
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Polaroid Flip Instant Camera is a charming camera. As a parent of a toddler, I’ve found it to be more than just a fun novelty it’s a storytelling tool that turns everyday moments into instant keepsakes. One of my son’s favorite tasks after taking a picture is to remove the Polaroid of course and then clip the polaroid next to the others and then point out and call out the people in the pictures. It’s a heart warming ritual that I thoroughly enjoy and enables me to connect with my little one. Image quality is solid for an instant camera. You’re not going to get DSLR sharpness, of course, but that’s not the point. Anyone that gets this camera should know that’s not the point. The camera includes features that help parents and casual photographers alike: a built-in flash for indoor shots, simple exposure controls, and a rechargeable battery that is charged via usb c. The companion iOS app make it easy to change the settings on the Flip and the fact that the Flip protects the camera lens and flash when it is in what I call “travel mode” is a big plus. The Sonar autofocus worked extremely well to determine which lens to utilize for the the picture depending on how far the subject is. Overall, the Polaroid Flip is a charming, modern take on an old-school format. For parents, it offers a fun, screen-free way to interact with your toddler, one print at a time. It doesn’t replace your phone or mirrorless camera, but it adds magic to the moments you’ll want to remember. I cherish when my toddler pulls the picture out of the Polaroid Flip and we get to look at the picture together

Instant Fun with this Polaroid!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This flip camera harks and taps onto my era. I grew up with Polaroids and it's awesome that this has come back in style in a sense. I do like the quality and also the neck strap that comes with it. It just looks fun, which is intended to be. One's phone will get the picture, but this flip camera will make you feel the moment with the physical aspect of getting a printed picture rather than a phone one. Granted the phone will be much clearer, but the retro look of the pics are what people want in some cases. It brings extra character into your subject. Being an object or a person or moment. And this is what this camera is about, the moment. The negatives I have on this is minor but not a major deal for me. The eye piece is way short and you cannot correctly get to the eye piece to frame the shot, you have to peek in it and pull away to make sure you have what you want. This takes a little time. The other negative is that the film is pretty expensive. You will pretty much decide if the moment means enough to take in some cases. It's not a bad thing but you cannot just point and shoot and decide which to print out later. Do I like it? Yes, with the phone app, it is a bit better than a plain instant flip. But it is mid tier and ok for what it is and what it can capture. There is a bit of learning curve to get your shot and be careful with the heat! That can affect your film.

Good camera, needs improvements.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this Polaroid Flip Instant Camera for the retro vibe, and it definitely delivers. The outdoor photo quality is especially impressive - colors pop, and the focus is sharp thanks to the sonar autofocus and four-lens system. It’s great for spontaneous shots in natural light, and the prints have that classic Polaroid charm. Indoor shots, though, are a bit more hit-or-miss. Even with the built-in flash, I found the lighting sometimes uneven, and the flash just isn’t powerful enough to fully brighten darker spaces. Also, the red-eye correction doesn’t seem to do much..several of my indoor portraits had noticeable red-eye, which was disappointing. Another thing to note: there’s no user guide included. I had to watch a YouTube video to figure out how to get started and understand the camera’s features. For something that’s not super intuitive, a simple guide would’ve helped a lot. And while the camera looks cool, it’s not the easiest to hold. The shape feels a bit awkward, especially when trying to take multiple shots or frame something just right. A more ergonomic design would make it more user-friendly. Still, once you get the hang of it, it’s a fun camera to use. The outdoor prints are beautiful, and it definitely turns heads when people see the photos. Just be ready for a bit of a learning curve and a few quirks.

Fun, nostalgic, and cool all around
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a passion for instant photography. I fell in love with it about five or six years ago when I was gifted two old Polaroid cameras from my grandparents as we cleared out their old house, a Polaroid Sun 600 and a Polaroid One 606. Both have been fun to play with, but not without some minor annoyances that come hand in hand with instant photography. Since then, I’ve explored some other instant cameras, with Fujifilm’s Instax Evo Wide hybrid camera becoming my favorite of late. So when you open up the box to the Flip, you get the camera, a nice bright yellow/gold neck strap, and a quick start guide. The nice thing about Polaroid’s has always been that once you insert the film pack, you’re basically ready to rock and roll with no other barriers to start snapping shots. The same goes for this camera, though to hone in your photography, you’ll want to make sure you understand the Sonar Auto Focus feature. Apparently Polaroid had invented this Sonar Auto Focus feature years ago and decided to bring it back for the Flip. You know, SONAR, the tech submarines use to navigate in the water by using sound waves to geolocate objects in the ocean? Yeah, Polaroid found a way to use that to detect how far you are from your subject in your shot and will try to autofocus accordingly. If you lightly press the shutter button, your camera will begin searching for the subject and try to autofocus. For the most part, I thought it worked pretty well, though there were a few times where I didn’t hear any adjustment to the focus happing so I assumed it was good to go when it wasn’t. What’s cool about this Polaroid Flip is that it comes with a few features you won’t find on some older models or even some of the cheaper options Polaroid has to offer. These features include a selfie/countdown timer for photos, an ability to adjust the exposure higher or lower, and it includes a screen showing you how many photos you have left in your film pack. Combined with the autofocus feature, that makes for a good number of features in what’s otherwise a very basic and familiar instant film camera. Overall, picture quality is on par with other Polaroid cameras I’ve shot with. If you’ve never shot with a Polaroid or similar instant camera and are expecting eye popping color and contrast, well, this camera might not be what you’re looking for. It perfectly captures the vintage/washed out look that I love for certain styles. I took this camera out to my local downtown’s Main Street and captured some cool shots that definitely look like they could have been taken two to four decades prior. There is an app that can pair with the camera, though I haven’t given that much attention. I’m sure there are some additional features that I’ll delve into at some point, but one of the greatest joys of instant photography is going back to the basics and not using my phone. I mean, my phone already has a camera, if I wanted to play with my phone I’d just use that. Overall, I think this camera packs a lot of punch for what it offers. If you’re looking to get into instant photography, but want more modern features than those of some older models, or just want a warranty instead of buying a used vintage model with the risk of breaking, then this camera is a worthy option to consider. I love the look and feel of the camera, and the sound of the film printing, and the tactile-ness of the whole experience. I’m glad I have this camera to add to my collection, and I can see myself defaulting to it more than my older models going forward.

Modern twist on nostalgic experience!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a semiprofessional photographer I have a wide range of camera options in my collection, from old film cameras, polaroid cameras, to modern DSLR mirrorless options as I tend to like options! I came into this Polaroid Flip camera with experience using the Polaroid Now camera from several years ago and being able to do a side by side comparison of how they have managed to improve the Now to the Flip has been exciting to discover. I have been a fan of the Now, however I definitely like and prefer the Flip for many reasons. One being the overall size, footprint, and ergonomic design, one of the reasons I lost interest in the Now was how non ergonomic it was, making it hard to pack for a trip or even just a day out. The flip feels so much better as I bring it along with me, the lens and viewfinder glass are both protected with the “Flip” mechanism of the camera being stored in the closed position. That also means the flash area is protected, and of course the shutter button. Having all of those important components being protected while not in use is a huge upgrade for sure. The included neck strap is also convenient and with the camera being smaller and more compact, it is easier to carry around my neck or shoulder without feeling so exposed to possible damage. It is important to note that this camera does not come with film unless you buy the package that comes with it, and in a film package is only eight photos. This means it is extremely important to be selective about what photos you want to take, as this can easily become an expensive hobby. In a world with camera phones, it is eye opening to stop and really think about a photo and how we want it to look before we actually press the shutter button. For someone with limited camera knowledge, this will come with a learning curve but it can be very rewarding as you are still able to get the fairly instant gratification of your photos with this being considered an instant camera. The app that Polaroid now has available is amazing and makes learning the new camera and tips on how to get the most out of it right there at your fingertips. I believe social media is currently at a time right now where sticking out and being different is the goal and having an instant camera that also brings such a nostalgic feel with modern touches would be a hit with the younger crowd. Or even the older crowd who is looking to bring back memories from the experience of using a Polaroid instant camera. Overall I am very happy with this Polaroid Flip camera and how user friendly they have made it in this modern era of instant photography!

Great for vintage photo feel
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve got to play and explore this camera for some time now and I’ve really enjoyed it! I didn’t know if I would like it or get much use out of it, because in todays world everyone has a great camera in their pocket or a digital camera which can take photos with amazing quality. I quickly discovered that the novelty of having an instant REAL picture that you can print out and take with you is a huge selling point for everyone today! I guess everything that was popular at some point eventually comes back around! My kids were playing with it and having a blast taking and laughing at the photos. We put this camera and a bunch of film out for their birthday party and it was the hit of the party! They took pictures and hung them throughout the party and put them in tables, etc. Their friends got to take pictures home to hang up in their room and show them to their friends, etc… Just like we used to do back in our day! What goes around comes around! Their friends said they loved it because the never really get to print pictures anymore, and they loved the instant picture they could take home with them.

So Much Fun!!!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So, I got this camera for my son's birthday, he just turned 13, and is currently very interested in all things "retro" so this was a no brainer! We took it on a beach vacation with the family and he was STOKED when he opened up the wrapping paper! He had so much fun taking some snapshots and then his grandparents may have even had more fun because they got to share some stories with him about memories that the Polaroid brought up for them. I would certainly recommend going ahead and getting some extra film to have on hand cause you're going to want it! We also found that while so many of us have gotten used to unlimited picture taking on our phones, using this camera caused everyone to be a bit more mindful in what they want to make sure they capture. It really helped to make sure that we took the pictures of the memories but also made memories for the camera for capture. I cannot recommend enough what fun this brought our whole family on vacation and in celebrating our new teenager!!!

Wish it had better Photo quality
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This review is for the Polaroid - Flip Instant Camera + Color Film Bundle. Unboxing and setup is very simple. The camera has a usb-c port for charging. So this was the first thing I did, threw it on the charge for a few hours. After which just installed the film that came with the camera. The unit is self feels flimsy. I don’t think it would hold up to being dropped to many times. So make sure you use the supplied neck strap. The upper part of the camera folds up, revealing the lens, the flash and the button you push to take the photos. Sweet and simple. You will also find a button to turn on and off the flash along with a button for a self timer option. The picture quality is not the best. I tried it outside in full sun light and also in some darker settings. The quality is just ok. They are all just a little blurry and just not a sharp picture that I’m used to. There are better options out there for Instant photos. But even with not great photo quality this unit is still fun to have and use at family get together’s or birthday party’s.

Not of good quality
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Polaroid is of poor quality. It’s supposed to help take better pictures with the sonar technology and more advanced features but it does a very poor job of taking the most basic picture. The pictures came out either, blurry, overexposed, underexposed or a combination of two of those. The film takes a very long time to develop. The film package only comes with 8 count. The film box states it should be kept away from xray machine and high temperatures, which may not make it good for traveling via airplane. The strap is not flat and is uncomfortable around the neck. The camera is heavy and bulky to allow for the strap to support it with just your neck. You really need to hold onto it while it’s on the strap around your neck. There’s a timer so you can take selfies and has a double exposure button and allows you to take one picture and then it signals you on when it’s ready for you to take the second picture. Even if you close the camera and it shuts off, it’ll remember that you need to still take the second picture to finish the double exposure. Again, because of the issues mentioned above, the quality of double exposure was poor as well. I would not recommend this particular Polaroid camera.
