Blast from the past
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This little Polaroid works just like the ones from back in the day. It's incredibly easy to use and takes fairly decent quality pictures. Don't expect any super fancy features, this is an old school Polaroid in a new shell. It has a flash, a switch to adjust the focal length, and a timer button. It also has a mount for a tripod. It all works pretty easy and seems fairly well built. The film is pretty expensive but, all Polaroid film is expensive. If you're looking for a Polaroid that works just like you remember, this is the one to get.

Nostalgia meets modern day
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It’s so great to see the Polaroid name making a comeback. Way back before the days of affordable photo printers in people’s homes, Polaroid instant cameras were how we took pictures without having to wait on film developing from our local photo studio, pharmacy, grocery store, or photo kiosk. This Polaroid OneStep2 Analog i-Type Camera has the same sort of “retro” look as the original OneStep camera from 1977, which brings all that nostalgia back again. Many of the same features are present on this updated model, but what was most notable to me, was the smoothness with which the photos printed. The camera did what it was designed to do, and was a joy to use. The camera is rechargeable via a micro-usb cable. There is a built-in flash, which you’re going to want to use, most of the time, although there is an override button for when you don’t require a flash at all. Of course there is a self-timer button, as well as, a lighten/darken switch for manually adjusting the exposure of your shot. On top of the camera chassis there are 8 LED lights which, when the camera is on, will light up and display how many photos you have left in your film pack. On the bottom side of the camera there is also a tripod socket which fits most standard tripod mounts. My own experience actually taking pictures with this Polaroid OneStep2, was what I would have expected. I do own one of the original OneStep instant cameras, so was able to compare the performance of both. Picture clarity was relatively the same. Don’t expect digital quality photos here. The novelty of these types of cameras is why I like them. You are able to capture the moment, and hold it in your hand, to keep or share. A minor “con” for me was the included, and rather flimsy, neck strap. The instructions were detailed enough, but at the same time, not all that helpful, and slightly confusing. Eventually, I ended up just figuring out an easier and simpler way to attach the strap to the camera. Take time to peruse the handy User Manual for tips on how to take better pictures with your new camera, which is a good idea, especially given the cost of film packs; that way you don’t waste film or money experimenting.

Not like the old school
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've got better poloroid pictures in our photo album from 1980's. Old camera was similar but took better photos. I was shocked how bad the pictures were. I am not exaggerating. I bought 5 for wedding reception and tested one. Immediately brought 4 back to best buy for refunds. Better off buying disposable cameras.

Loads of fun
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Boy does this bring me back. Fun analog camera packed with new features. Love the color or B&W option of film. The original design is great and feels just like old times. Looks good just sitting on the table even. You can't compare this to digital cameras, not even close but works great for what it is. Its a point and shoot with a exposure setting, flash on or off and timer. Took it to a party and it was a hit. Not really a lot to say other than have fun with this basic camera.

Nice camera but zero film with it
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I gave this as a gift and was embarrased that the perosn couldnt even use it as it had zero film with it. For that price they should at least give you a sample of film to use.

Polaroid Name back where it belongs!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This fun retro throwback is one of the great things about technology in 2018. This camera looks and feels like the old polaroids, but it has been updated and modernized with an internal rechargeable battery, flash, and LED indicators for battery and film remaining. The film is a little pricey compared to the other options on the market, pricing out to about $1.95 a photo if I did the math right. Also make sure you carefully read the instructions on the film, as mishandling during the "processing" could lead to imperfections or mis-exposures. I felt a little bit like the colors weren't as bright as they could be, but I haven't gone through more than one package of the film yet. For nostalgia lovers, this is your gig. One has to remember the old Polaroid quality of the 80s and expect that instead of perfection. If you're looking for a modern instant camera I would invite you to compare this to some of the available instax models. Fun to shoot and play around with! Overall I love it and will probably keep the film in stock at home.

Nice Pictures But Don't Expect Digital Quality
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this camera so I could send pictures to my 92 year old mother who has never used a computer and doesn't have access to one. Also holding a picture in your hand beats looking at it on a phone or computer screen. I had gone digital like most everyone else but I have missed having good old-fashioned photo albums you can pull out and thumb through with friends and family. This camera takes nice pictures but of course they are not digital quality as this is an analog camera. Also it seems that lighter subjects tend to be washed out a little with the flash always on. There is an Exposure Value button to lighten/darken but I haven't had a chance to experiment with it. Hopefully that will help with lighter subjects. I like the convenience of Polaroid in that you get the picture immediately instead of having to take a roll of film to get developed. You still have to be patient though as the pictures take 20 to 30 minutes to fully develop. I recommend this camera for casual picture takers who just want to capture moments/memories and don't care whether they have digital or SLR quality.

Fun and Easy Instant Print Camera
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wasn't old enough to remember the original version of this camera, but it still has a nostalgic feel to it. It's incredible easy to load and use. I've been told that the original version had the flash installed at the top whereas this model has the flash incorporated into the body of the camera. It's definitely better this way to cut down on as much of the bulk as possible. There's also a button that allows you to turn off the flash, if you wish, which I think is good. The camera is rechargeable using a micro USB cable, however, the package only contains the USB cable and no wall charger. I'm not happy about this, but this seems to be the trend I'm seeing with a lot of other products. My biggest complaint with the camera is the photo capacity. It seems that the cartridges only support up to 8 shots, which I think isn't nearly enough in the 1,000+ digital pic storage age. Also, it also makes it fairly expensive to reload. I'm loving the camera a lot so far, but the price of the film may make this a nostalgia impulse purchase that may lose its charm fairly quickly.

Old-School Photo Fun
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Retro instant film cameras really began it hit the market hard a few years ago. Polaroid, one of the original "old guard" of instant film cameras, recently introduced the Originals Onestep 2 as a budget-friendly entry into the market. The camera can use either I-type film or more expensive 600 film. Since the OneStep doesn't need 600 film, I'd recommend you stick with I-type unless you're also using another camera that requires 600 film. The OneStep produces pictures that are larger than most other modern instant film cameras. Each image is about 3 inches square, which is pretty nice. Unfortunately, that also means the film is a bit more expensive than the film used by some other instant film cameras that produce smaller images. It's a trade-off: larger image at greater cost per image or smaller image at lesser cost per image. I tend to like the larger images. Plus, the OneStep looks a lot like the original Polaroid cameras I recall from when I was a kid. As many items are in a retro design phase now, from cars to cameras, I think the OneStep will blend right in. In terms of image quality, the black & white film is terrific. The images show excellent contrast and strong levels of detail. Frankly, I was pleasantly surprised. Color images are not quite as rich, but they are good enough for the medium. Specs from Polariod: Dimensions: 150 mm (L) x 110 mm (W) x 95 mm (H) Weight: 460 grams / 1 lb (without film pack) Outer shells: Polycarbonate + ABS plastics Lenses: Optical grade Polycarbonate and Acrylic lenses, coated Shutter system: Custom design, using precision step motor for shutter Lens: fixed focus lens / 0.6m — infinity Focal length: 106 mm Field of view: 41 degrees vertical, 40 degrees horizontal Flash System: Vacuum discharge tube strobe Battery: High performance lithium-ion battery (1100mAh), rechargeable via USB Neck Strap and USB charging cable included Using the OneStep is super easy. Basically, it's a point-and-shoot analog camera. You load the film by opening the hinged door on the front. Turn it on, eject the film cover slip, and then start taking pictures. The viewfinder is large and makes it pretty easy to properly frame the shot. Just like the Polaroids of yesteryear, the OneStep does not offer much in terms of controls. You do have a shutter button and an EV compensation switch, but that's about it. The USB charger is in a handy location on the back, and the camera reportedly holds a charge for almost two months at a time. Overall, this is a fun camera. It's a little bigger than some of the competition, but is still portable and easy to use.

Nostalgic and great for younger generation
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I took the camera with 8 color and 8 b&w pictures to my 8-year-old great niece's birthday party. All of us adults were commenting on how old the tech is and remember when... My 10-year-old great nephew asked to try it and it was a hit. I think we forget that this generation never saw anything like a Polaroid camera. He's grown up with digital and having to wait to see what he shot was hilarious to him. He was fanning it back and forth like I did as a kid and it was amusing to watch. In today's world, this camera is past it's time for everyday use but for events such as parties or as my nephew said at a wedding reception, these would be a hit. I mentioned they have rental photo booths nowadays, but he reminded me these would be much more fun and no lines waiting for your turn. Just set out a bunch of these with film packs and let your guest amuse each other. The photo quality is a bit lacking. The color photos look exactly like they did in the 70s. In fact, if you were to dress up in 70s fashion and take a pic, I'd bet many people would think the photo was 40+ years old. The room we took pics in had very little outdoor light, but it had plenty of available light from the chandelier and recessed can lights. That said the color pics came out dark and moving the switch to + made it worse. I put it on - and it wasn't much better than the middle position. Black and whites on - came out with a bluish tone and in the middle position, it was a tad bit better. If you're looking for HD pics, it ain't gonna happen. If you're wanting that feeling of taking a snapshot and having a usable photo in 5-15 minutes then this is a fun toy. I think it would be fun for young kids and social gatherings just to create conversations. I'm sure I'll find a number of uses for it in the future. It's definitely not taking the place of my 6d or t5i. The downside is the price of film. I looked online and it was around $16. They need to get that price point down to make it worth buying enough for an event.

When I first saw this I thought of the original
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I first saw these being offered I thought of the original so my interest was to purchase and see if this is better with technology. This camera is very easy to use as the original one back in the old days. I notice it has many options for film choices. If you want something that gives professional photos I would look elsewhere this is like the old camera more for convenience and the photos have a unique look to them.

Fun at a Price
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Who said that older generations didn’t care for instant gratification? This camera will give you a glimpse of what people in the 70’s to early 90’s experienced with a camera that didn’t need to wait hours if not days to have films developed and printed. Back then, there was no digital screen to see what a picture would look like when printed. Polaroid solved that problem with instant films/prints. This Polaroid Originals OneStep 2 works and feels just like those models but with higher quality material. Very easy to use. Just point, click and see your picture show up like magic. It is a camera for nostalgic fun. There is not much new technology with the exception of the battery that charges using USB. The old films use battery but the one for this model doesn’t. That saves money and the pictures are better for some reason. Image quality is not that great but it was never meant to be. Instant gratification has its price. The image showed some greenish shading to it but not too bad. This is not be compared to DSLR or any other type of digital photography. If you would like the experience of instant photos on an retro looking camera, this may be it, but be prepared for the cost. The camera price is fair but it will cost around $2 per picture and you may waste more pictures than you would like. That was what happened in my experience, especially in the first few photos I took.

Great Camera
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a nice little camera. It is so much fun to use this camera, with it's instant pics. Remember using this type of camera years ago. Used at an event and people enjoyed getting a copy of their pics instantly. Easy to set up and use. I have no complaints about this camera. Picture quality was decent. Camera very light weight. Not a lot of focus options, but a nice little camera regardless.

Vintage!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just like the original Polaroids, this one is vintage! It takes nice photos without compromising too much quality. As with the original, the pics on this one so come out a bit dark in my opinion but works well outdoors. Polaroid went for retro and they stuck well to the script. The only downside is you're paying about $2 a photo but hey, it's instant!! Just ration your photos for the right moments and this camera is for you!
