The gimbal lock that came with the mavic is good if you install it properly, but it doesn't protect the camera at all. The camera can cost upwards of $300 to replace if it gets damaged and then your $1000 drone is worthless, so it doesn't make any sense to NOT have this.

Not a significant benefit to clear DJI plastic gimbal lock and clear bubble camera guard included with Mavic Pro drone. Polar pro is may easier and faster to take on and off but does not lock the gimbal or protect the camera as well as stock DJI plastic parts.

I prefer this gimbal lock over the original one due to the fact that this one has a cover for the camera lens. Also, it is designed to fit over a lens filter as well so you don't have to take your filter off every time.

Needed to replace cover for my mavic lens. This covers good if you put an nd filter on the lens. If you don't it will still move around.
