Only has voice commands but even those are limited compared to an actual Alexa Echo device. It was tricky setting up device and switching between different hdmi's can be annoying and unresponsive. Trying to return it if we can find the receipt.

I bought this soundbar in-store along with a couple TVs and was excited to use it as I have several Amazon Echos already and lots of smart home devices that work with it. This system was pushed very hard by the home theater "expert" working there. First thing I noticed after linking with my Amazon account is that the microphone array on the Command Bar would require that I was literally six inches from the speaker or yelling at it to even get alexa to respond. I tried a couple things like rebooting and whatnot thinking it could just be a fluke but I never could resolve that problem. The biggest issue I had was that I could not get it working AT ALL with multiple TVs, using multiple connection types including HDMI ARC, optical, and both HDMI ARC and optical together as was oddly suggested by the manual. When I finally somehow got sound to come out of the bar from my televisions it was INSANELY quiet even turned up to full volume. I ensured that my TVs were not set to variable audio and they were in fact set to fixed so that was not the issue. I went back to the store this morning and returned it and instead bought the Samsung HW-N450 and it blows the Polk Command Bar out of the water on sound, both highs and lows, and was $20 cheaper! While the Polk Command Bar is a great concept, the actual execution of the product is horrible. I wouldn't recommend this thing to my worst enemy.

One of the most important components to a decent home theater is sound. The Polk Command Bar with Amazon Alexa Built-in gives your home theater the top quality sound you need. The Polk Command Bar consists of two parts, the soundbar itself, and a stand-alone subwoofer. The subwoofer is designed to connect wirelessly to the soundbar, eliminating the need for a wired connection. This lets you place both components in optimum locations without worrying about the connection. I especially love that Amazon's Alexa is already built in. This Alexa is just about as fully functional as the dedicated units from Amazon, with only room to room messaging and a couple other items not implemented. And even those are coming with future updates as Amazon continues to empower third-party solutions. The Polk Command Bar is simple to hook up, whether you are using it with a cable and TV or another source. I used it with an Apple TV, and everything worked great. There is a TV HDMI output, saving you the expense of splitting the HDMI output from a cable box. I definitely recommend the Polk Command Bar, not only for a great sound solution for your home theater, but it can serve as a home hub and information system as well.

Polk, a known maker of quality audio equipment, has created a kit for the home that is both simple and fully featured. Most of us want high-quality sound without having to also buy multiple cables and spend lots of time setting up a complex system. Amazon's Alexa has been added to the Polk Audio Command Sound Bar. The small limitations it has now, should be fixed by Amazon in future software updates. One feature I noticed which was not ready was sound bar to Echo messaging. I enjoyed that my experience with movies, TV series and Bluetooth audio devices have all been impressively upgraded with a sound bar and subwoofer. 260W of total output power pumps out high-quality sound, which is very important to me. Placing it below the TV on a table or mounting it on a wall gives this sound bar versatility that other more complicated home audio solutions do not have. Its 2" design is enough to leave a small gap between where my TV is in my living room. A pair of HDMI ports on the back, a slot for an Amazon Fire TV unit, a USB port, and an HDMI out for the TV, all help to keep down on cable clutter. Polk placed the tweeters in the sound bar at either end with the more powerful center channel drivers in the middle, where they belong. Most audio from movies and TV shows are center channel heavy. This single sound bar produces an impressive home theater like experience. I am happy with both the audio and Alexa voice assistant experiences. Getting them to work correctly on the first try was impressive. Polk understands how we need to keep things simple.
