The Polk Audio- MagniFi Mini AX Atmos Soundbar with wireless subwoofer is a great choice. It takes up small space but gives full, rich, big sound. It connects via ARC using an HDMI cable for the best sound, but can also be connected with an optical cable if your TV doesn't have an ARC port. Set up is easy and straight forward. Connect to the ARC port with the included HDMI cable, plug the power cord into an outlet, turn the TV on and set sound to ARC if it's not already. The soundbar powers on when the TV does and powers off when the TV is turned off. Plug the subwoofer into an outlet. The soundbar needed an update right away. It gives the info on the front so you know what it's doing and when it's ready to use. Once the update was finished, I connected the soundbar to the subwoofer by pressing the buttons on the back of each, they gave the indicated beeps and connected. The instructions are well written and the setup is a breeze by following the steps. I then connected the system to Google Home as it is compatible for voice commanding the volume. Everything connected and working as it's supposed to. The sound is amazing. The bass is deep, rich and thumping. 3D mode enhances the surround sound effect with Dolby Atmos and fills the room. The base vibrates the walls and floor. For movies, you can use the 3D or switch to movie mode which optimizes the speech and sound effects instead of the music. Music mode will do the opposite for shows by enhancing the music and can be used for streaming music. This soundbar can connect to your phone via bluetooth to stream your music also. There is also a night mode to which reduces the bass and volume while improving the voice. If that weren't enough, you can also adjust the bass and voice levels with the remote to get that just right balance. Wi-Fi lets you use Chromecast or Apple Play to stream music with Google or Siri voice controls from any room in the house. So many features, such big sound and it doesn't take up the entire tv stand.

Hello, the wireless subwoofer speaker receives its signal from the soundbar via RF. Some routers tend to emit signal interference that could cause connection issues. In most cases, repositioning the wireless subwoofer or router will correct the problem. If we can assist, please don't hesitate to reach out. 800-377-7655 (Product Support) Mon - Sun: 9AM - 9PM EST PolkAudioMarketing

Polk has always been known for quality and great products. With the Polk Audio MagniFi Mini AX Atmos Soundbar with Wireless Subwoofer you get the legendary sound in and amazing package. The system comes beautifully packaged and easy to unpack. The setup took about ten minutes after figuring out where I wanted to place it. I hooked up with the HDMI and it worked seamlessly. Having my Xbox connected it was very simple to get the Dolby Atmos enabled. Once hooked up I played movies the sound was absolutely amazing. The movies scenes made me Feel like I was in the actual movie because of how much it surrounded me in the room. The base and sounds were crystal clear while the high notes were able to hear perfect. Testing out games on it was a very enjoyable experience as well. I felt like the bullets zipped by me as the sound fully filled the room. Playing multiplayer games I could hear other players behind me or to the side which greatly aided me in getting victory’s. I highly recommend the Polk Audio MagniFi Mini AX Atmos Soundbar with Wireless Subwoofer.

Why does this get such high ratings? It sounds super flat — the built in tv speakers sound better. Hopefully we will be able to return it!

Sounded good for about 2 weeks, then the sub started making a very loud “popping” noise. Had to unplug the sub to watch anything. According to my research this issue is not uncommon.

Hello, and sorry to learn of your frustrations. The Polk Audio soundbars communicate with the wireless subwoofer via RF signals. Wireless routers can sometimes cause interference between the sound bar and the wireless sub. If you hear a popping noise, relocate the wireless subwoofer to another location in the room. TVs have been getting bigger. Polk is pushing in the opposite direction with their MagniFi Mini AX Atmos soundbar. The bar is about 15 inches long which will sit comfortably in front of any set. It can’t be wall mounted unless you add your own shelf. The connections are on the back and the controls on the top, along with on the remote. Sound quality was very good compared to other soundbars I’ve used. There’s very good separation for movies and TV shows. The soundbar has modes for Movies, Music, 3D, and Night. Movies is a relatively flat equalization with a slight emphasis on vocals / dialog. 3D spreads the sound out a little extra, but I didn’t find it to be natural for music or movie dialog. Music mode adds some punch on the upper frequencies, as well as a little bit of bass emphasis. The subwoofer adds some extra kick to all programs. This has some nice, room filling sound, even in a larger space, like my 15’ x 30’ family room. Set up was very easy. I connected the included HDMI cable between my TV’s HDMI 1 port (labeled with ARC out) and the soundbar. All the source switching still takes place on the TV. Sound was easily controlled either from the soundbar remote or from the TV. I was able to configure the soundbar for use with my Fire TV remote as well in about 5 minutes, by going through the Fire TV set up. Connecting the subwoofer was via Bluetooth. It came paired already with no set up needed. Overall, the set up an listening experience was about as easy as I’ve had with similar devices. While I wouldn’t compare this to a full component based home theater speaker set up, it brought some of the movie theater experience home in a compact package. Polk also makes surround speakers designed to pair with this soundbar, but which didn’t come with this package. When they’re in stock again, I plan to purchase them to add to the overall experience. The star comes off due to the decision to market this without the surround speakers included. It seems a misnomer to call this 'Atmos' ready without including all the needed elements.

Solid sound but weak bass, great for smaller rooms

This is a good sound system for someone who wants to add a little more definition and loudness to a TV for movies and music. For being small, I can say it does pack a punch and in a smaller room this system is the perfect addition to a TV that doesn't have the best sound. If you're looking for thundering bass and loud theater sound, you may want to look past these as to me, the bass while good was no where nearly as loud and hard hitting as I'd hoped it might be compared to another soundbar and subwoofer that I have downstairs. In terms of features, I like the display and how it's hidden inside the soundbar. It looks great and works well. The wireless casting is cool and setting up Google was not bad but it did error the first time it updated which I'm not sure if it actually did update or not. The remote control has a rubbery feel that I don't really care for and it feels cheap but you don't really use it a bunch if you're using a TV that has the Audio Return through HDMI (which is the best way to use this system). It's super easy to setup and use right out of the box with an HDMI cable for the return audio. As said, you can crank this system up loud and it sounded good but the bass is not as strong as I'd hoped. I think in part because the subwoofer is firing down in to the carpet which I'm sure doesn't help it. For smaller rooms this system would be perfect as it's definitely a step up from the built-in speakers and a step up from cheap soundbars that are out there. For that I'd recommend this but if you have a large room with carpet and are expecting that cinema thundering sound and bass, you'll want to consider other systems.

Small but Mighty soundbar with wireless subwoofer

Polk MagniFi Mini AX soundbar is replacing my leading brand soundbar of this size mainly due to its advanced 5 speaker array and wireless subwoofer. Mounted the soundbar below the 60 inches television for having true surround sound with wireless subwoofer. It has got deep bass, 3D soundstage like larger sound bars and have the option to pair with SR2 wireless speakers to enjoy 5.1 DTS or Dolby Atmos surround sound. This is the new model like its previous generation with minor design changes and the support of Dolby Atmos. Setup was extremely easy through the HDMI cable that is included in the package to your TV’s ARC/eARC or using the Toslink optical connection. It has got a LED display on the front of soundbar to clearly see what options like volume/input or sound mode when making any settings change for easy viewing. It connects to Wi-Fi through Google home app like all Polk products and has inbuilt Chromecast, Apple Airplay2 for easy music streaming. Only one HDMI port is available due to its size and so HDMI Passthrough is not an option. Buttons to pair subwoofer or optional rear speakers is also available at the back along with an USB port that can be used only for Service and not for USB sticks/external hard drive. Once it was connected to the Wi-Fi it prompted to update the firmware and was successfully updated in few minutes. This soundbar differs from the competitor’s brand of same price range with its wireless subwoofer, tweeters, and drivers. This model AX has two 0.75-inch tweeters and three 2-inch drivers along with its larger subwoofer that houses 7-inch woofer for delivering heavy bass and fuller treble tones. Remote that comes with this soundbar has several buttons to adjust or finetune the sound. It has buttons for adjusting the bass, voice, and sound delays. There are also different modes like Movie, 3D, Music, and Night. This soundbar also works with your existing TV remote and can be easily configured to fire tv or apple tv to turn on/off and adjust volumes with those remotes. Overall, for its size this soundbar outperforms in its class that can replace the sound of your TV speakers. Voices are clear due to its VoiceAdjust technology, bass is heavy and it’s great for any small or large rooms. If pricing it not an issue and need a soundbar that doesn’t take a lot of space on your media center and need good Dolby Atomos sound with heavy bass and subwoofer option, then look no further and get this.
