This Polk Magnifi Mini soundbar system is fantastic!! I have it paired with my 55" 4K Samsung TV (model: UN55KU6270FXZA) and it has greatly improved my TV-watching experience. As is typical with most TV's, my TV's audio was merely adequate and not really good. I especially had a hard time listening to voice dialogues. The Magnifi Mini takes care of that issue by clearly and loudly projecting people's voices right toward you in a very understandable manner. With its own remote control button setting for voice clarity & loudness adjustment, I really appreciate the flexibility that Polk provides. The TV's default volume levels were never an issue with me but the Magnifi Mini improves and extends the volume range as well. If you crank it up, the sound can get very, very loud to the point that you get uncomfortable. The bass that emits from the wireless subwoofer is a very nice addition to the media experience. Just as it is important to have a nice subwoofer in your car for maximum music enjoyment, having a subwoofer for your TV system adds further enjoyment and it immerses you into the movie's world further. In addition, I really appreciate how compact the Polk Magnifi Mini system is. My TV stand isn't very deep with a depth of about 15". Yet, I was able to securely position the Magnifi Mini speaker in front of the TV. The subwoofer is pretty slim as well, allowing me to fit it between two bookcases. All in all, this is a fantastic investment for anyone who wants higher-quality sound, fidelity, and experience from their TV media consumption. I highly recommend it.

I couldn't wait to try out this sound bar in my master bedroom. I have it paired up with a 40" TV and my room is 20' x 18'. You get everything you need to get started, but the included cables are not of the highest quality, but it really is a very nice addition. You get a HDMI, digital optical audio cable, and a regular audio cable in case you need them. The remote also comes with batteries so you are good to go right from the start. The build quality seems very good on these units. The main unit is small, but has some weight to it and it puts out very good sound for its size. Highs sound great and the lows sound great as well with the wireless sub woofer. I didn't really notice mids that much, but I didn't miss it either. I am not an audiophile, so someone who is might have more to say about the specifics of the sound quality. I do enjoy the sound it puts out and it fills my master bedroom just fine. The remote is a little funky to use at first, but you can control the lows, highs and total volume with three different rows of buttons on it. Night mode works very well and it really comes in handy when I want to watch a movie after I put the little ones to bed, it will quickly turn down the bass for me. It has google cast built it and that is a very nice feature that works very well. I have also connected the speaker up to my Amazon dot for streaming music. The price and size are just right for someone looking for a speaker solution with a small footprint and big sound.

    Great Soundbar Upgrade

The setup for the Polk Audio - 2.0-Channel Soundbar System with 6-1/2" Subwoofer and Digital Amplifier was a breeze. There are only two components to handle, the soundbar itself, and the bluetooth subwoofer. The subwoofer just requires the power cable, which is detachable. The soundbar requires the power cable plus your choice of audio source: HDMI (ARC), Optical Cable, or Auxiliary cable, all of which are included in the box. The key feature of this soundbar is it’s size and available options of entertainment. I connected the soundbar using the included HDMI cable to my 3D TV. Though my 3D TV has 4 HDMI inputs, only one of them was labeled (ARC) like the soundbar. This allowed me to use only the HDMI cable and control everything with one remote. I love this feature because now, I don’t need to be changing inputs on the TV to raise or lower the volume. I can do it all with one remote and without the optical cable, so it reduces clutter. The soundbar itself comes with pre-installed Google Chromecast software. I got it to recognize the test sounds while setting it up but it failed to update the first time. After resetting the wifi on the soundbar, I was able to finalize the update, but none of the apps I have recognized the Google Chromecast as being an option to cast to. My standalone Chromecast was recognizable, so the issue is with the Google Chromecast within the soundbar. Since I already have a Google Chromecast, it didn’t affect me as much, but it’s a feature that the soundbar touts on the box, so be wary of that. Perhaps a future update may fix that. The performance of this soundbar is great. First of all, from all the soundbars I’ve owned (4 total), this one is by far the smallest and the loudest to date. It gives a really good punch, especially when watching TV shows or movies with action. It has a volume dial for speaking characters on screen. As a hard of hearing person, I decided to raise that volume up and it works! I didn’t even put captions on the screen, as I usually do, to hear what the people on screen are saying. The night mode also does a good job of playing the audio loud enough for you to hear but not too loud so as to not wake up nearby neighbors. This soundbar meets my expectations. All the features that I’ve mentioned previously make this a worthy buy. To take full advantage, check if your TV has at least one (ARC) HDMI input. It should be clearly labeled where you connect your HDMI cables on your TV. It is disappointing that the Google Chromecast feature didn’t work right off the bat, but if that’s not something you want, then this bad boy will save you plenty of shelf space. The price for the soundbar in terms of value makes it one of the most accessible soundbars to date. The fact that you can control the TV and the soundbar with one remote (using the HDMI ARC feature) makes the price feel worth it. This is doubled up when you consider it’s actually a loud soundbar with neat options like bluetooth connectivity and the use of optical cables. I have to deduct two stars because setting up the Google Chromecast wasn’t easy, and when I finally got it to set up, it didn’t work. I’m used to setting up things with Google Chromecast, as tech is my forte. Everything else is simple to do. I highly recommend this product for people who want to have one less cable to connect, want to use one remote to control your TV and Soundbar at the same time, and want a more than decent soundbar sound system that can impress anyone who listens to it. Also, if concealing the soundbar is a concern of yours, this tiny device will be your dream come true. Since the subwoofer is wireless, you can set that and hide it anywhere in the room that you want.

When I first got the box, I could feel the weight more toward one side of the box. From previous experiences, I thought the subwoofer was packing a good amount of weight. Well, imagine my shock when I realized the bulk of that weight was coming from the soundbar. It is clearly packing some quality speakers. As you can see in the picture, the weight is packed in a small package. However, that size is not an indicator of its abilities though. I have found the performance to be very good whether I was watching TV, playing games, or streaming from other devices. Since I have an older TV, I think the quality could be even better when I upgrade that. Getting back to the specifics of the Polk Magnifi Mini Sound Bar, I found the WiFi, Bluetooth, and Chromecast connections all work well and with little effort to connect them. I was able to stream via all of those methods with great quality. The only issue that I had with connections was the use of my TV remote to the sound bar. I tried to follow the directions several times, but I couldn't get it to connect. I reviewed the included guides and online materials a few times and still couldn't solve it with those. Ultimately, I love this device with it's size, performance, and price point taken into account. I also love how it blends into my setup and provides the sound I need to enjoy movies, sports, and music. With that being said, here are some pros and cons to help to the value and what can be better. Pros: 1. For most of your connecting points or options, they have provided them for you. The only one missing is the ethernet cable if you prefer that route over the WiFi. 2. The Soundbar is small. but contains enough speaker power to overcome that. 3. The subwoofer is wireless and the connection is established from the time you open the box. This thing really bumps when the right content is being played. The family loves feeling the vibration from time to time. 4. We are an Android house and the ability to use Chromecast is a huge plus. I really think this tool is a winner for Google Home. 5. The ability to elevate the voice over the ambient sounds. The Night mode and dedicated voice controls work well when you need to hear the dialogue over everything else. Cons: 1. I do like the ability to control the voice, but it would be nice to not sacrifice the bass at times. An equalizer with more detail would result in better performance of course. 2. The inability to get the remote from my TV service to control the volume for the Magnifi Mini Sound bar was a bummer. Nobody likes the multiple remote game. 3. If it wasn't for my TV stand, I would have been lost with a wall-mounted TV. I would have had to find a stand to place it on or a mounted a shelf for it.

The Polk Magnifi mini soundbar provides the audio experience of a larger system in a small, discrete package. This system is perfect for someone who doesn’t have the room or doesn’t want a full home theater setup. Speaking of setup, I had the Polk soundbar unboxed and working in 15 minutes thanks to the simple setup and clear instructions provided (granted it is just a soundbar). When I initially started using the mini I felt it was lacking depth. I turned the bass up to compensate, but I still feel the speaker is missing a little mid-range. The wireless sub is a nice feature, but is also found on other soundbars. I can live with the mids of this device since it excels in being less obtrusive compared to my previous system. The speaker can be interfaced via HDMI, aux, optical, bluetooth, and wireless via Google cast. The included remote offers quick access between 3 audio profiles and the various inputs. I found myself sticking with the movie profile and adjusted the bass and voice levels (lacks frequency control) to meet my preference. One complaint is the volume light indicators only display 4 levels, making it difficult to tell what volume the speaker is at visually. Of course, if you have the speaker connected via HDMI ARC this isn’t an issue, but I am using an optical audio cable with my current setup. Also, I don’t think this speaker would be good for a large room or to replace a more traditional home theater setup. If you are looking to improve the built-in audio of your TV or if interested in a discrete minimalist setup, Polk Audio Magnifi mini is a great buy.

    Small Space, Amazing Sound!

The Polk Audio 2.0-Channel Soundbar System with 6-1/2" Subwoofer and Digital Amplifier was exactly what I was looking for to replace my traditional long soundbar set up since I had recently change my entertainment center. This comparatively tiny replace fit perfectly under the bezel of my screen and wasn't a distraction with lights or shape while watching the movie. The subwoofer was about the same size as the one I was replacing, but has a slimmer, sleeker look about it. This sound bar packs a sound punch for both the highs and lows. It was great for voice heavy shows like Big Bang Theory where the comedy lines come quickly and clarity is important. It was awesome for the movies where the dramatic and thematic was perfectly assisted by the subwoofer via bluetooth connectivity but with zero delays! I was impressed with the Chromecast feature as well since this was an unexpected feature. PROS - Small footprint - Lots of sound (highs and lows) - Clarity - Connectivity (Optical, HDMI, Ethernet, Audio Cable) - Chromecast - Sleek, Design - Remote is well designed and easy to use CONS - Subwoofer does not have a flat top like other brands - cannot place other objects on it such as Xbox One Controller Charger, etc. I haven't really found anything negative about this product other than the personal preference about the Subwoofer. I would highly recommend this product at this time!

For not that much money you get an excellent solution for surround sound movies and music. If you don't have the room for large speakers and a receiver or even the room for a large sound bar, I think this system is an excellent choice. Don't expect room shaking bass, because the sub is only a 6 inch woofer, but it doesn't disappoint especially with action movies. The voice adjust feature is very nice as it makes it easier to hear the actors voice, this has been a big gripe at times for me with surround sound systems. It's nice that they include everything you need to set this up no matter which way you decide to hook it up, wether it's hdmi or digital optical. This is an excellent system for someone on a budget, a dorm room, an apartment, or someone with space constraints. With Bluetooth streaming and Chromcast audio built in this can be your whole entertainment system.

This “mini” Soundbar is better than I thought it was, with the right music selection the sound is like crystal clear, and very loud! Is not a true 5.1 but it has a little effect of surround sound, the wireless sub is not bulky, sounds pretty good and also looks good. To all this I can add the very convenient feature of “cast” your Spotify music with a very nice quality and of course non interruption like a Bluetooth speaker because this is WiFi based. Until now is not possible to listen YouTube over WiFi but this system also has Bluetooth so if you want to play some YouTube music from your smartphone, you just need to play the video over Bluetooth and sounds really good, not as good as WiFi but really decent sound. Or just play it on the smart tv and get the sound through the Polk audio. Another feature I like is the Bass and Voice customization, as well as the night mode that decrease the Bass, I thought this feature was not useful but I use it every night. I did a lot of research, had a Harman Kardon speaker and a Sonos One but I returned those, I know they are different but this one was the right one for me for a lot of reasons (software or compatibility issues, poor bass, not Bluetooth connectivity, not loud enough, etc). For its size is going to surprise you, thrust me!! The only negative thing I can say is that once in a while it disconnects from my Spotify but is just to turn it off and works again, I hope they fix this minor issue with the next firmware. Maybe sounds like a sponsored review but is not, I’m just telling my experience with this, definitely worth it for $199 at Black Friday, even now is at 230, I would buy it again!

For such a small device it works very well. The woofer is a great addition as well. I have this installed in my living room connected to my smart TV with no issues. However I purchased a second one used and it was horrible. Apparently there is an issue that happens with the updates that will cause them to fail. I would not purchase a 3rd device.

This is a great sound bar if you're limited on space. The sub sounds great and it gets decently loud. Only issue is occasional bugs that makes it unresponsive, and a constant hiss even when powered off. It's also very overdue for an updated design as it's over 5 years old now.
