I love it when it works, but its very frustrating to sync and turn on/off. The power button sticks and its sometimes impossible to get the WiFi to connect. Every time I wanted to use it, I would fight to get it to work. 10 hours battery life? no I took it back. When I want to listen to music I want it now, not 10 minutes later arm wrestling with a speaker.

    Great Speaker

this is a great sounding speaker. i have had a few wireless speakers in the past and this is the best by far. keep in mind that this is NOT a bluetooth speaker (more on that later) as this is DTS play fi as stated from other reviews. this connects to your home wifi and while POLK recommends you have a certain router, i dont have what they recommend and still works fine. i notice on some reviews that they have problems with dropping of or no speaker found i have not had that problem. i even have a mobile carrier hotspot and have used it on that and have no issues some reviews point out that you only have option of PANDORA, but the app also has SPOTIFY, AMAZON prime music and internet radio so a lot more options. you cannot use YOU TUBE as app does not support it a few things of note, this speaker does not have a true POWER button. manual states to plug in AC ADAPTER to turn on. i took speaker to family members house and while we where outside, i forgot to bring adapter. luckily daughter was at home and she brought it so we can enjoy outside. i called POLK the next business day and they mentioned to push the SETUP button on the back until the light turns on. keep in mind that this setup button is to connect to your wifi so if you hold it down too much, it will kick off your wifi and you will have to go thru setup all over again. to turn off you will hold down the POLK button in the middle which is also the PAUSE button. one good thing that POLK just did was as of 3/28 i received an email that Bluetooth adapter was now available. i ordered immediately and received by 4/1 so i plugged it in and now i dont have to use the app anymore and can enjoy like any other bluetooth speaker. SOUND is great...i listen to all kinds of music from latin/tropical. country, r&b, top 40 and talk radio. one thing i noticed, is that this speaker has a lot of bass...some will like that, some wont. while listening to talk radio, the voices sound pretty deep so can get a bit boomy. there is no option to lower or increase bass. also no real option to check battery life. i have had a few speakers where you push a button and it tells you % left. this one does not. it notify you with blinking lights when you have 20% left overall this is a GREAT speaker. i started with 4stars, as no true power button, and is a bit heavy for when you take outside as it is portable, but with addition of the bluetooth, i rate 4.5 stars

The title says it all. The set up is confusing and difficult. The ap doesn’t really help. I love Polk products usually and I absolutely hate returning items to the store but this one was a $150 paperweight that I had to take back.

This is pretty much the same as the Omni S2 only it has a battery in it so it's not tethered to an outlet. It has all the same performance as the S2 but, you can chuck it in the corner of the yard or the deck or the patio and with the PlayFi app from Polk, you don't have to go too far away from the beer to change the tune! This actually comes in handy because of it's battery and the long life. Especially for BBQ's or if I'm running the smoker and have to babysit it for a few hours. This little speaker will keep on rocking the entire time. Doesn't matter if it's a baseball game, talk radio, Pandora, my iTunes library, it will run through it all and the only other piece I need is my cellphone which is with me anyway. I've even brought it to a neighbor's house to play music from my own library at home while we painted a couple rooms in his house. This is an awesome little speaker.

I was impressed by the sound of this small speaker. The WiFi setup wasn't explained well in the owner manual, so it took a little time to set it up. Streams music using my local WiFi from internet apps and from my local NAS or computer. The rechargeable model also has a Bluetooth adapter, so it can be used without a WiFi network to stream from a phone or tablet.

Great sounding portable speaker from Polk Audio

When I was searching for a portable wireless speaker, my two primary focuses were good sound and the life of the rechargeable battery. This speaker fits both bills well and then some. I really like the fact that this speaker has two drivers and two passive radiators as well. It creates a good balance like all speakers and sound systems should have. The battery life is as good if not better than any other comparable speaker of this caliber. In addition to these features it also can be used for multiple uses in your home including being part of a multi-speaker wireless home system and can be controlled via an app for use with your cell phone, tablet or computer. Hope this review has been helpful. Enjoy!!

    Buyer Beware

I will admit. These speakers sound better then sonos. But you will be so frustrated by them that you will hardly get to appreciate that sound. The software that these speakers use is DTS playfi, and it is terrible. There is very limited support with apps so you better be ok with just using Pandora all the time. Also all of the polk omni products I have owned constantly remove themselves from the wifi network. I am at a point now that none of my speakers will reconnect to my network after hours and hours of trying. And no, there is no issue with my network. I have a nighthawk router and have a marantz receiver and chromecast audio that do wifi just fine, not to mention streaming from my smart tv. So I am left with hundreds of dollars of useless audio, and hours of wasted time. So frustrating. And be warned.
