The Poly Sync 20 speakerphone is kind of a tossup, and it comes down to your personal preference weather you would like it or not. The design of the speakerphone is different from others I’ve seen before…The bottom looks like it’s made out of a PVC plastic housing, and the top has a cloth speaker fabric with a strip of plastic that houses the touch controls. There is a light bar that separates the cloth from the plastic on the front of the speaker. The touch controls are rather odd with a spaceship button instead of a play/pause symbol, granted this button can be customized to your choosing through the dedicated PLT HUB app. The problem with not having a dedicated play/pause button is when playing music, you can’t use it to skip and rewind tracks. There is also a Microsoft Teams button if you use Teams. The USB-A cable is built-in to the bottom of the speaker, which is used for charging. They include a USB-A to USB-C adapter for most modern devices. Lastly, a nice carrying case that has a small slot for storing the adapter is included. The Speakerphone can also function as a power bank to charge any device with a USB-A cable. It also works as a Bluetooth speaker for listening to shows or music. To get the most out of the speaker, there is a free app called the PLT HUB, this lets you change settings on the speaker such as the function of the spaceship button, toggle HD voice on/off and updates the firmware. This speakerphone is also compatible with Siri and Google assist. As for how well the speakerphone sounds...I tried the speakerphone out in two different ways; the first I used it as a conference speakerphone and then I tried it as a Bluetooth speaker for music. The speakerphone has some decent sound to it. It has good lows and highs, but the problem is it doesn’t get very loud. When using it as a speakerphone for a call, the vol had to be at max just to hear it comfortably, anything lower than ¾ and I couldn’t hear anything. On the other end of the call, the recipient was able to hear me very clearly. When I used this as a Bluetooth speaker for music, I was fairly disappointed with the vol level. While the sound was good vocals sounded clear and bass was deep, the vol level does not get very high. Overall, I think there are many good aspects to it, like the built-in USB charging cable, the carrying case, and HD clear audio. Although there are also a few things I don’t like about it. For instance, the spaceship button (this makes no sense to me), the plastic housing at the bottom I think makes it look kind of cheap, but mostly it’s the volume level the volume doesn’t get nearly loud enough for me. For that reason, I wouldn’t recommend this speakerphone.

One of the very first things I observed about the Plantronics Poly Sync 20 was just how aesthetically pleasing it is. Its beautiful. The sleek, contemporary design...the soft contoured lines...the colors...they all blend together to make the Poly Sync a literal piece of art. When you hold it in your hands, you know you are holding a quality piece of equipment. I've had more compliments on the way it looks than I have anything else. But the true artwork is on the inside. Like most everyone else, I have several bluetooth speakers. Some are those "I needed something quick big-box-store specials, and others are on the superior end. That being said, I gathered three or four and played one certain song, and one spoken passage just to refresh my memory on how each of them sounded. Then I did the same for the Poly Sync. I know this sounds crazy, but the Poly Sync gave my higher end models a good run for their money. The sound is rich, full, and vibrant. The spoken passage sounded amazing. The one minor deficiency I noted is that the Poly Sync just doesn't get super loud. Loud enough so that anyone in a conference room or even a classroom would be able to hear, but not loud enough to really jam to when playing music. But then, the Poly Sync was not designed to be a party speaker. But don't get me wrong...it does get loud, just not party speaker loud. A quick side note, the Poly Sync allows users to customize controls. By default, the customizable button is set to Pause/Play for music. But you can change this to any of the available options you want by following a few quick steps. I think that is pretty cool. Out of the box, the Poly Sync is super easy to set up. If you have done any set ups on electronics before, then this will be a breeze. As with all connected devices, there is the downloading of the app, connecting it to your phone, and completing any other tweaks to suit your taste. The Poly Sync was simple and easy, pairing is quick and straightforward, and then you're ready to use it. I called a buddy up just to test out how well it would work in a real-world setting, testing out the Poly Sync's noise and echo reduction. I placed the Poly Sync in the middle of my Family Room, which is larger than most business conference rooms, and while on the phone call I repositioned myself several times to see if he was able to hear me from all angles. I also turned on the ceiling fan, and opened the patio door, and although my buddy could hear a lot of the backgrounds noises like the neighbor's dog barking, he could still hear me just fine, and I could hear him just as well. The Poly Sync boasts up to 20 hours battery life, but I have not pushed it to that point...yet. That makes it perfect for taking it to places that may not have available power. And speaking of power, the Poly Sync can charge your phone or other device with its built in charging option. A great move on Poly Sync's part! It comes with an attached USB-A cable that is almost two feet long, making charging pretty convenient. This connects to your PC or laptop to use as a speaker. I personally do not use many Microsoft products, so I can not attest to how well the Microsoft Teams capability works. But I can say, if it performs as well with the MS Teams function as it does everything else, well, I'm sure its amazing. One other function I am jazzed about is the ability to connect with Siri. This is nothing more than pressing a button for two seconds, and there she is! When it is all said and done, the real question is, "Does the Poly Sync do what they say it can do, and does it do it well?" Not only yes, but it far outperformed my expectations. It is superior in every way, and I see myself using this for years and years to come, both for pleasure, and also for work. Seriously, don't wait...this is the one you have been waiting for! I will sincerely and highly recommend the Poly Sync 20 to not just my friends and family, but to anyone looking for an amazing multi-use speaker.

Recommend to a friend? I wouldn't recommend to an enemy. The app to control it is worthless, it won't update its software and crashes, spent way too much time setting this up. Unless you are a pro, avoid this product or you will just waste your time and get very frustrated.

In a world of work from anywhere a solid speaker phone is a must for those endless zoom calls during the work day. I work from a variety of spots throughout the week and really needed something to use when I didn’t want to use headphones and using my Mac speaker and mic is terrible when there is more than one person in the room on a call. The Poly Sync solved all of my problems with its crisp, clear audio, amazing mic array, and incredible battery life. Using the poly sync is dead simple. Having the flexibility to either connect to my laptop via usb or Bluetooth made it so easy to turn on and get right on a call. The sound quality really is next level. It’s crisp clear and makes collaborating with my team so much easier when it’s easy to hear every word. The mics on the device also seem to work incredibly well. I have yet to have anyone have a hard time hearing me. Another huge point is the battery life. 20 hours of talk time has been way more than I need to get my job done during the week. It makes thinking about charging this thing so much less of a big deal. Overall this checks every box I need to help me get my job done on the go. Not only does it provide amazing call quality it does it all in a super light and easy to carry package. I’m very happy to add this to my head bag

I wanted to like this. Thought it would be a great addition to my work from home setup. Initial setup and configuration was a breeze but this speaker is not optimized for voice; too much emphasis on lower frequencies, even with adjusting the sound mode using the app. In addition, people on the other end of my meetings reported a distinct echo when using this over my headset or even just the PC speakers & mic. Oh well, I’ll just have to try something else.

I really like the Bluetooth and wired option; I was able to switch between conferencing on my phone and laptop with ease with one hooked up wired and the other via Bluetooth. It is advertised as a battery for your phone as well, I would say don’t use it as your day battery it is more like the battery that if your phone is about to die in the middle of meeting this will save you if you happen to have a cord, this isn’t the battery to keep your phone charged up and music going all day at the pool (but the sound is nice at the pool). Speaking of the music functionality of this, it sounds nice, especially for a small speaker, but it doesn’t get incredibly loud, it isn’t going to blast out your hotel room, but hopefully you aren’t trying to do that anyway. It is more than loud enough to use with a group of people at a mobile meeting place and the mics are amazing, talking with other people they say that it is extremely clear, like using your phone directly clear. That is one of the most import things to me, this was true with MS teams connected on my phone as well which hasn’t been true with all Bluetooth devices, I try to use with MS teams on my phone. It charges and connect to a computer via USB A, there is a USB C dongle but this I found lacking as the connector was a little large and there is nowhere for it to be stored besides in the nice bag it comes with, the USB A on the other hand wraps around the bottom and snaps in place, as I use USB C way more now a days I would have much preferred a USB C end and a C to A adapter as those can be quite a bit smaller as well. This is really the main issue I had with this device. It is plug and play and overall, a great mobile option for meetings and some music.

I wasn't sure what to expect with the Poly Sync 20, but I was pleasantly surprised at all it could do. At it's core, this is a conferencing speakerphone, for use in apps like Teams and Zoom. So it is geared towards people who work from home, or travel a lot and do a lot of conferencing. However, it offers some other useful features, even if you never use it for calls. First off, it also features bluetooth, so it can be used as a portable speaker. And its sound quality is actually really good for a speaker this size. Perfect for traveling. Second, and this one completely surprised me, is that it can be used as a portable battery to charge your phone or other devices. That's a really great feature for travelers, and just adds to the convenience of this product overall. If you're a traveler, this potentially combines 3 different devices you'd have to pack into one. And to top it off, it performs all these functions really well. I've already commented on the quality of the bluetooth speaker. As far as call quality on conference calls, it is really good. The speaker is really clear and sounds better than my separate speakers. And it picks up my voice really well and definitely works better than the built-in mic on my laptop, and almost as well as my professional grade podcasting mic, without taking up nearly as much space. As a portable charger, it also works extremely well. They claim it has 20 hours of battery life, but with so many mixed uses, I don't even know how I would divy that up, but in normal use, it'll probably last you at least a full work day. Just be sure to keep it charged every day and I think you'll be fine. My only issue with it, is that the USB cord is permanently attached to it. It at least has a space to wind it up when not in use, which is really convenient. And also, not having to worry about misplacing the cord, or carry around an extra cord is also nice. However, if anything happens to that cord, that's it, the device is basically useless, unless you want to open it up and replace the cable yourself. In the end, this is just a minor gripe, and not one that would keep me from giving this thing 5 stars and an enthusiastic recommendation.

Setting the Standard for Tele-Comms Speakers

I've migrated to the Poly Sync 20 after years of using a Jabra puck for work. My typical day consists of roughly 3-5 hours of virtual meetings and conference calls since I've transitioned to full time work-from-home 4 years ago, so I've had a good chance to evaluate the Poly Sync 20 over the past two weeks, and I can say without hesitation that it's a big upgrade over the Jabra. The most immediate and noticeable upgrade is in the sound quality of the Sync 20. It has a much nicer sound profile than the Jabra I've been using, and is even suitable for casual music listening. The Jabra, by contrast, has sound quality that's poor enough that music sounds bad on it, but that is adequate for voice calls. It was immediately noticeable how great the Sync 20 sounded after plugging it in. On that note, it should be mentioned that this thing is completely plug and play on both Windows and Mac. It was instantly recognized on both platforms for me, and the Teams functionality worked out of the gate. My company uses Teams as the sanctioned employee instant messaging platform, so this speakers fits in very well with my usual work flow. The Teams button is actually quite handy; it allows you to bring up your Teams instance regardless of what you have going on on your screen. Additionally, the macro function is quite nice too, offering a customizable way to quickly perform various actions. I haven't used it much thus far, but once I find the solid use case, I'm sure I'll use it daily. If you're looking for a speaker to up your tele conferencing game, the Sync 20 has to be at the top of your list, especially if you routinely use Teams. It offers great sound quality and great functionality and is likely an upgrade to any WFH'er's current setup.

Working remotely and having weekly meetings requires that I use headphones most of the time. It can get tiring having to wear headphones over your head for extended periods of time, or to have earbuds in your ears most of the day. The Plantronics - Poly Sync 20 was the perfect solution for all of the meetings and to avoid having to wear headphones all day. I love how easy the Plantronics - Poly Sync 20 is to use and all of the features that it has. One of the best features is the built-in USB cable. You can just plug it in and get straight to your meetings, phone calls, music, etc. Another great things about the Plantronics - Poly Sync 20 is that it is designed for use with Microsoft Teams, which is what we use at work on the daily. We highly rely on Teams for just about everything we do, so having the Plantronics - Poly Sync 20 has been great! The volume is great and the audio is clear. You can also use the Plantronics - Poly Sync 20 as a speaker for your phone, so it truly is an all purpose speaker. You can also link assistant devices to the speaker, which is even better. I really love the Plantronics - Poly Sync 20 and use it every day. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

As someone who teleworks regularly, this thing has been a blessing. It really doesnt get easier than this portable speaker. My company does not allow software that has not been approved to be installed on any of our devices, so the fact that this is literally plug and play was perfect. I simply plugged it into an empty USB-A slot on the dock of my laptop, enabled bluetooth pairing and in a few minutes, I was up and running. My office uses Microsoft Teams primarily for meetings, but we also use WebEx and Zoom as well. We also use UC-One for VOIP service and that was pretty much where my problems began with other speakers. I had connection issues and bluetooth disconnecting mid call, but the Poly Sync has not had one hiccup. Before I got this one, i would have to use my iPad to take phone calls instead of my laptop. Using the iPad required me to establish a secure connection with a token and then make sure I could stay connected to my network continuously or I would have to repeat everything. The Poly Sync simply works. I didnt have to do anything fancy other than change my settings for the microphone and speaker and everything else worked. I think they put alot of thought into this product. It has decent weight (not too heavy and not too light), plug and play with no software downloads required for use, carrying case and the ability to be used as a portable charger for your phone if needed. The only complaint I can make is I wish the cable was a little bit longer, but I was able to make it work with my setup. All in all, this is a quality product that just works. I would definitely recommend this.

After a few years of working from home, I got a little tired of using a headset for my Teams meetings. I was often plagued with Bluetooth issues where my voice was delayed and / or distorted. Using the Poly Sync 20 is a big improvement. I am happy that the device offers you the option to use it as a wired or Bluetooth device, so you have quite a bit of flexibility. I personally use mine plugged into my computer's USB port. The sound quality for meetings is very good through the speakerphone and my co-workers have told me that my voice sounds better than before. My voice does not get distorted like it previously did. The device has buttons to mute yourself and modify the volume. There are also dedicated Teams buttons, but they did not work from me when I use Teams in a VDI environment. You can connect the device to your phone to act as a speakerphone and a music speaker. The speakerphone capability works well, but if you are looking for a device to play music on, I would recommend going for a dedicated music speaker. It plays music fine if you have a use case to play music while you have the device with you, but the sound quality of a Sonos or Bose speaker will be much better. It also has a USB input that allows you to recharge a phone or device from its internal battery. Overall I am very happy with the device and would recommend it for its primary use case. But if you are looking primarily for a music speaker, you might want to look elsewhere.

I have long been a fan of Plantronics/Poly devices - even since the days of wearing a wired headset. The Poly Sync 20 is OUTSTANDING! First off, it's the perfect size for balancing great sound with portability. The sound of this speakerphone is truly way above expectations; sound on calls, Teams meetings, and even music sounds rich. People on the other end of the conversation didn't even know I was on a speakerphone. Pros: - OUTSTANDING sound quality - Extremely easy setup and pairing with both Mac and PC (also phones) - Fully-duplexing (no echoes) - Full integration with Teams (though you can use it as a standalone device if you don't use Teams) - Long battery life on each charge - Roughly 3 days of moderate use in between charges. - Includes a very nice, high quality pouch for traveling - Charges fairly rapidly - USB-C connectivity Cons: NONE! This is a must-have device for anyone who is looking for an outstanding speaker with the bonus of having a fully-duplexing speakerphone. I even use this device to listen to music in between phone calls/Teams meetings.

I have searched for a long time to find a speaker phone to connect with my iPhone to use for work. All others had a glitchy delay with the blue tooth. The Poly Sync 20 connects to your computer via a USB cable or Blue Tooth. Easy to connect and link with phones. The blue tooth connectivity went extremely well and was easy. I connected it to my computer and did a team’s call and connectivity was as simple as plugging it in my laptop and I was up and running. It offers USB-A and comes with a USB-A to USB-C adapter. Even comes with a case in the event you want to take this with you on the go. There is another USB port on it so you can charge your phone while you use it. There is an apk for your phone and you can make customizations. The Poly Sync 20 has a battery pack so it can be charged and used on the go. As I stated before, I have owned many other devices like this before and they always disappointed. The Poly Sync 20 met every expectation, voice quality was great and there was no lag when you start speaking.

I've had the Poly Sync 20 in my home office for about a year now - and I absolutely love it. I am now getting this unit for my cabin, so that I no longer have to travel with this unit. The Sync 20 has an incredible-sounding speaker and the voice quality via the speaker is great as well (many of my colleagues have this same device in their home office, so I regularly hear others using this device). I am on this device 3 to 4 hours per day on average. I also like the ability to touch the mute button on the device (versus clicking the Teams app, Zoom app, etc.). And I like the ability to touch another button to drop the call. I have this unit connected to my mobile phone via Bluetooth, so it is super convenient to take a cell phone call via Bluetooth on minute and then take a Teams or Zoom call the next minute via USB connection to my laptop. Hands-free all the way! While I don't use this unit for music, it would certainly do in a pinch. All in all, I highly recommend this unit - it is a must for my home office.

New to the brand Plantronics and so I went in with no expectations from this speaker, but I am glad to share that to my surprise, the sound transmitted from this from the meetings to music or just playing videos on my computer has been great. I had another Bluetooth speaker connected to my PC prior to getting this and I already posted that speaker for sale. I am going to keep this one as my PC speaker and obviously use it for the Teams/Zoom calls. I work from home on most days, so I have at least one meeting every day, and I have been satisfied with my use of this product for the last couple of weeks. Additionally, the built quality and box presentation speaks good from this company. Again, I had never used their products, but it definitely doesn’t feel like you are buying a cheap speaker. No issues with Bluetooth connectivity, but I personally leave it plugged in with the provided USB cable because that’s my preference. I highly recommend this product if you are looking for some speakers for your PC that you can use for music, entertainment, and business meetings. It checks the boxes for me!

I am super impress with the Plantronics Sync 20. I have about 7-10 difference conference calls a week. I’ve been using difference headsets (Bluetooth and wired) for these conference calls. They get the job done but people on the other side usually say I sound muffled. I’ve also had conference call where others needed to listen in so I had to use the laptop speakers (not good). The Plantronics Sync 20 is a great addition to my work from home/office/hotel/airport/ everywhere lifestyle. Here is what I like about it Pros - The speakers plugs in VIA USB A port (comes with USB A to C adaptor) - While plugged in charges and control works on computer - Can connect VIA Bluetooth or USB plugged in both work - Acts as a portable speaker. - Clear audio on both sides - Bluetooth setup was simple on phone and laptop. - Cool feature can be a portal battery pack (charge phone) Cons - If connected VIA Bluetooth it act as a speakers first not as a headset - Integrated USB cable I’m not a fan. What happens if it breaks ? Overall, I would recommend this to those who travel or are on the go.

This is the best speaker I've found for working with Teams. The sound is clear and crisp for movies and all that I play on my computer. So it's an excellent speaker with the the teams interaction, but since I've started using these I never have the usual drops and problems when using a speaker for teams. HIGHLY Recommend.
