Customers are saying

Customers express satisfaction with the Voyager 5220's sound quality, comfort, battery life, and Bluetooth connectivity, frequently praising its lightweight design and range. However, some customers reported issues with the fit, occasional connection problems, and a perception that the volume could be improved. A few also felt the price was somewhat high. Overall, positive feedback on sound and comfort outweighs concerns about fit and connectivity.

I have had several Plantronics headsets before and all have worked great until I lost them, ran over them or left them in the rain. They were all the model before this. battery life, sound quality and comfort were the best. The only complaint I have is that it not quite as tall as the old ones and so the ear bud does not stay in my ear like it used to. If not for that I would have given it 5 stars.

I have been using this Bluetooth for around two months now. It has very good noise cancellation, battery life and is very comfortable. The only concern that I have is that it will sometimes stop giving the voice prompts " Power on, Power off, Phone connected etc. I have found that unpairing it from my phone and pairing it back fixes it. Not sure if this is caused by the Bluetooth or the Samsung galaxy s6.

I have used Plantronics headsets for years so I knew to expect good sound quality and have not been disappointed. Connectivity and range are great and battery life is legit. My only complaint is that it doesn't sit snugly on my ear. It always feels like it's about to fall off. It never has, but I'm constantly fussing with it. Probably a more secure fit for someone who doesn't wear glasses.

    Best Plantronics Ever

Bought the 5220 at Best Buy about a month ago. I have had many plantrontics in ear bluetooth communicators, the last 2 being the Plantronics Voyager Legend. The Legends were great on my end, but depending on where I was in my house or out and about, friends would tell me that I was cutting out. It was not constant but enough that they had trouble hearing me, so after the second one, I went to Best Buy and bought the Voyager 5220 after reading the specs differences. Now this problem had been on an iPhone 6s Plus and 2 different Androids, so to me that ruled out any phone problems with the 2 original Voyager Legends. The 5220 is incredible. It has yet to cut out or be unstable in any way whatsoever. When I switch from the phone to the 5220, callers tell me that whatever I did sounds loader and clearer. Maybe it is the bluetooth 4 vs. the 3 on the original? It was more than worth the money! USB C would have been nice. It comes with a USB micro cable and a cigarette lighter plug in charger for the car. No power brick for in the house, but I have so many of those and cables, no problem, but it would have been nice. It comes with 3 sizes of ear tips but no felt covers like the original. I have leftovers, but again, would have been nice. All in all, this is definitely the best Voyager that Plantronics has ever made. A little pricey, but again, worth every penny plus a few for stability, clarity and comfort!

I have owned other headsets and this on of the best. It is light weight and very comfortable. Battery is long lasting and he calls are clear. I have had no complaints from people on the other end saying they can't hear me or the sound is muffled which was a constant compliant on other devices. At first I was worried about the size of the device but when wearing the device is mostly concealed behind the ear so this has not been an issue. It was a great buy and I would buy it again!

Good audio quality from the earpiece and the mic, good battery life, voice commands to answer or ignore calls, and so light you forget you're wearing it. Delivers on all the reasons I bought it. And unlike some headsets, this one doesn't battle with my eyeglasses for "ear supremacy." They play nice together.

This is my third Bluetooth, the exact model over the years. It blocks noise to the other side of the line. Fits very well and good battery life. Before they were including the little sponge like cover to fit inside the ear but the stop and it does come out on longer period using it. But does not bother although it would be great if Poly includes them back.

After nearly 3 months with the product. This product is very good and it’s just what I needed. The main problem I had was that it didn’t connect to my work computer right away the same way I was able to connect to my phone. It could be a problem with the work computer’s bluetooth connection, but I don’t remember what I found at the time. I had to buy a separate adapter so the computer could connect to the headset. I really love that I can connect the headset to my phone and computer at the same time. I’m able to listen to music from my phone and I can answer work calls from computer right away. I hear the ringtone from Teams to interrupt the music, which is good and bad. I tried messing with my settings so that I can ignore notifications from computer when I’m listening to music on my phone, but I had to keep messing with Teams when I answered the call since my music kept wanting to kick back in and ignore the caller. I had to revert back to the original settings. I also don’t like that the music from my phone will stop when I receive a message from Outlook or Teams and I have to manually press the play button on my phone again each time that interruption happens. Taking phone out of my pocket a bunch of times to do this is annoying throughout the day. I love that I can walk away from my desk at work and go grab something else around the office while we’re in a meeting without losing reception to the speaker. I’ve had quite a few times where the earpiece cut out for a few seconds for no reason and I wasn’t sure if it was faulty wiring. Minor annoyances, but a fantastic upgrade from a wired headset. I bought the charging case as well, but I wish it was in a bundle the way the Elite model is sold. I wish the battery life is longer on the Voyager, but the Elite provides a longer battery life. I’m able to charge my earpiece in less than 90 minutes (I do this daily). I am very happy that the earpiece connects right away after turning off car stereo if I am on a phone call. This product is worth the money. Buy it and make your world more convenient.

Better noise cancellation than Voyager legend

Decided to pay the premium to be early adopter since my two voyager legends were starting to have reduced battery life. Also, I tend to wonder away from my phone and need the enhanced bluetooth range this model has. I can get a good 60 feet away now. It has the same comfort as the legend and battery life. Works with the same app on your phone. Noise cancellation has improved. Callers could barely hear airport announcements which were so loud hurting my other ear. The volume buttons have moved to the top which takes a little getting used to. I like the fact it will now charge via micro USB or magnet. Mute button has changed sides but does not matter since you would use two fingers to mute.

My husband has always been a fan of the "thin backed" style for work. I bought this one to replace the old one I washed in the washer machine...oops. I was nervous about the back, but he put it on and was surprised about how light weight it was. He said it was incredibly comfortable and he uses it every day. The sound quality was on point. I also went ahead and paid the little extra for the replacement insurance since I tend to wash all his tiny electronics in the washer lol. Hope this helps!

I was on the market for a new headset for making business calls. Call clalrity, as in the ability for people to understand me clearly was my most important criteria. In that regard is hit it out of the park!! Great call quality on both ends. Easy to pair to my phone. Reasonably comfortable, at least as good as others. Only downside is the battery life is kinda low, but not awful. For the price, you can't beat it!

When it comes time to replace a bluetooth headset I spend some time researching what I'll buy next and when I washed my 3rd Plantronics voyager legend it was time to get a new headset. Now mind you my last 4 headsets have all been the Plantronics voyager legend as they've been the top of the game for multiple years. the audio is crystal clear, the mic was a great pickup, I could drive in a convertible with the top down and the boss would think I was sitting in my office, no joke. So if something was going to beat the legend it had to be pretty awesome. The 5200 has 4 mics (vs the legend's 3) for better audio catching and filtering, the speaker is clear and crisp, and I like the button design over the toggle for volume personally. The biggest change I'm excited about is if you hold down the button on the boom for about a second and a half you can have the headset connect to the google now agent on your phone (I didn't test S-voice or siri). This is the feature which made the most sense to me, though I wasn't going to sacrifice the operation of the other features just to get this. My only complaint is, there's yet another proprietary new connection for charging the headset BUT for some reason plantronics also included a microUSB you can charge the headset from which is a very nice addition. My wish list would be a more water resistant/water proof version of this, I'd gladly pay more for it, but maybe I should learn to check my pockets before doing the laundry. Overall I loved my Plantronics Voyager legend and didn't think I'd ever find anything better but the 5200 is my new favorite and I'd imagine it will be for many years to come.

The fit is a little loose that's the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. That said, the sound during phone calls is very good. Even people on the other end say it's like I'm not even using an ear piece. The noise cancellation is GREAT! I was talking on the phone outside in the wind and the person I was talking to said I was perfectly clear, they couldn't hear the wind at all. I highly recommend.

    Voyager 5220: Worth every penny!

I was a little hesitant in purchasing this BB Exclusive Voyager 5220 only because of the price point. When there are cheaper alternatives inches away on the shelves it can be difficult to opt for one of the more expensive choices. Then I read the reviews, put trust in the reviews, and ultimately bought it. I'm very happy I did as the sound clarity is excellent (even with the windows down). Fit is extremely comfortable with the stock ear bud (you have two additional in the box). Battery life is good so far and recharging is fast. I do have one small negative. This unit can be charged via the micro USB [included] cable. The problem is the access cap that must be opened on the Voyager is a pain to open. So difficult that I didn't want to go through that process again so I ordered the Plantronics Voyager 5200 charging case/charging stand for $32.00 [even though it states "5200" in the title, it works with the "5220" wonderfully). If this charging application/unit was included that would have made things outstanding. The micro USB charging option is still there if I don't have the stand/case or need an emergency charge somewhere. I'm happy as is and would recommend the Voyager 5220.

The sound quality is great. People do not know I am using an earpiece. It took a little getting used to at first. It was hard to put on. Now it is second nature. It does not latch on very strongly though. This would not be a good choice if you are going to be active. For office or driving use, it is very comfortable.

This is the only over the ear Bluetooth I've used for the past 6-7yrs. Nothing has changed and I'm actually glad about that cause it works great!!! Even on the freeway, with open windows, I can have a conversation and the peraon Im talking to doesnt even know it. They hear no wind noise. No bacground talk or voices. High pitch sounds do make it thru to the caller but, that's even rare! It has a pretty good range as well. I can be across the house and it's still rock solid! The only downside is the 6hr talk time. After about 1.5yrs, the battery doeant seem to hold as good of a charge, but then again, I use this daily and ALOT!!! Sometimes I even listen to music with it, and no one even knows. Lol

Quality is amazing. This is the second time I've bought this headset. The other one conked out but it put in its time for sure. The noise cancellation is awesome. It worked well outside and I never had any complaints. 6 hour talk time and is interchangeable with different blue tooth devices.

I like this product, even though it is an older version of an ear bud. This is the third one I've purchased, over a 7 year period. I have the portable battery charger, which makes it handy in case I forget to charge it at home. Has good outside noise reduction and others can her me well. Also, works well for other audio (podcasts, videos). Excellent product for the money.

I'm a commercial driver and this is my 4th PLT in 11 years the first was the Legend. All day use and comfort. 6hr on a full charge when new, 5 to 4 in successive years with heavy use. They don't stop working, I still use all of them with less time on a full charge. As for noise suppression my truck is loud but call recipients hear only occasional electronic sounds generated inside the cab. It works so well I have to remember not to raise my voice volume when my environment is loud to me. Cons, sweat wins in the end after years you will hear just fine but the mics in the boom do not pick up as well so call quality to your party suffers. Last, once you turn it on leave it on for the day. Avoid constant on/off switching, better for the battery and the switch will not wear prematurely. Treat it like your phone on for the day recharge when spent.
