Extremely comfortable - superb sound!

This headset is lightweight, has wonderful spongy earpieces that are extremely comfortable, and has superb sound quality. I really like the control features - the on/off switch is also used to pair with blue tooth, there is a switch to select the noise cancellation setting, and the microphone can be flipped up to mute audio. Another well designed feature is the small bump on the volume control that lets you know you found the middle of it (while its on your head) so you can go up or down easily. The charging port is very convenient to slip the headset on and off of. The only negative about the charging station is that it flashes blue initially, which is disturbing when in the same room as I'm sleeping even though it's across the room.
The software on the desktop was easy to download and install, but I wish they had a mobile app for controls. I really wanted to give this headset 5 stars because it is by far the most comfortable ones I've owned, but the one drawback is they do not stay on my head if I bend over or am walking around the house with them. They seem to slip on my hair and fall off. If I'm sitting at my office desk - no problem. Also, I did hear some interruptions while using them in blue tooth mode on my phone. For a computer application - definitely 5 stars. For mobile use, only 4.

Plantronics has pulled out all the stops with the Voyager Focus 2. It has been a very pleasant experience using it for conference calls and streaming audio. In the box you get the headset, USB-A Bluetooth adapter, USB-A to USB-C adapter, charge stand, and carry case.
Noise canceling is top notch. Given that the headset is on the ear and not over the ear, I wasn’t expecting the noise canceling to work as well as it does. I have a lot of construction on the property next to me and I can hear all of the hammering, sawing, and heavy machinery all throughout the workday. With the Voyager 2’s active noise canceling on, I can’t hear any of it. This is beyond impressive given that the headset is on the ear. I’m not sure how Plantronics managed to do it to this degree, but that is impressive. Also, the acoustic fencing of the mic worked incredibly well according to everyone I asked about it in conference calls. All of them pointed out how clear my voice was on the calls.
It integrates with Microsoft Teams. When I first connected the headset to my Mac, Teams automatically recognized that I had connected a Teams compatible device. With previous headsets that I’ve owned, I would find myself double muting myself (muted headset mic and muted in the Teams app). It can be a bit frustrating when this happens. With the Voyager Focus 2, since it integrates with Teams, it will mute teams when you press the headsets mic button. That prevents you from being double muted since you control the app’s mute with the mute button on the headset.
The fit and feel of the headset is comfortable. It’s lightweight so wearing it all throughout the workday wasn’t a problem. All of the controls were easy for me to find while wearing them.
Battery powered headsets have worried me in the past because I would likely forget to charge them and only find out when I need to use them. This is not a worry for me with the Voyager Focus 2. It comes with a cradle which also charges the headset. At the end of the workday, I can just set them on the cradle and I know that they will be fully charged before starting work the next morning. Plantronics says it will work for up to 25 hours of talk time, but I won’t run up against that limit since I’ll just set them on the cradle at the end of each workday. If I put them into the carry case and take them with me on a trip, I would have plenty of time to get to a point where I would need to plug in a charge cable.
Plantronics has an app that works on Mac OS and Windows. Instillation was very simple and straight forward on my Mac. The app will show battery power level as well as let you set special features of the headset. I didn’t experience any problems with the app. The instillation was quick and use of the app is straight forward.
I’m really liking the Voyager Focus 2 and I will not be going back to my previous headset. Plantronics you have done an amazing job on these and I can’t speak highly enough about what you have accomplished with the Voyager Focus 2 headset. I would recommend these to anyone looking for a very high-quality headset with incredible noise canceling features.

Nice Wireless BT Headset For Work

I use the Plantronics Focus 2 Unified Communications Stereo Headset primarily for speaking with clients.
The headset is a comfortable on-ear style of headphones with a good quality boom mic. It is very comfortable to wear and feels much lighter than I would have expected.
Sound quality is strong. I have no problems hearing my clients, and they indicate I come through loud and clear on their end.
I really appreciate the Acoustic Fence technology and use it at times. I sometimes work from my home office and sometimes at my regular office. The Acoustic Fence can be handy at either one, as it really almost completely eliminates outside nosies from being transmitted to the other end of the call and from your ears, too. This is a godsend in certain situations.
There are three levels for the ANC Acoustic Fence feature. And you can change on the fly with a simple slider on the left earpiece.
The headset connects via BT. For best results when using a computer, you should use the included USB dongle. You can also connect via standard BT with a phone, tablet, or computer.
The charge stand is handy. Just make sure you click the headset in firmly so that it gets sufficient contact to charge. The charge stand has a USB cable to plug in to either a USB power outlet or a power brick.
I appreciate the fact that flipping your mic to the up position automatically puts you on mute. Bringing it back down turns off mute.
The outside face of the left earpiece is a rocker panel that lets you control volume. You can also click to answer or disconnect calls.
Be aware there is a minimal lag if you have the headset charging and pick it up to answer a call. There is no lag if you're already wearing it.
One last note, I really appreciated the thoughtful packaging touch of using tape with an easy peel edge.
All-in-all, this is a winner.

Lightweight Durable Stylish and great sound

Out of the box this headset has a nice thin design. A really light and comfortable headset with ample cushioning over the band for the top of your head which flexes for adjustability and also the ear cuffs. The ear cuffs are not the usual over the ear design that I normally see. But they are comfortable. They extend on both sides and twist for fitment on just about any size or shape head. It really is a stylish headset with adjustable boom flip down fold up microphone. It also includes a charging stand and nice padded carrying case.
You can use this as a wired or wireless headset with it having a micro usb outlet on the bottom of the headset. It does have active noise cancellation and the button is placed for ease of switching on, 1, 2, or off. The sound in my opinion is great for the size of the speakers. It is nice crisp and clear on the highs and a decent mid bass when listening to music. The bluetooth range is excellent. I could go throughout the house and never lost connection or had any cracking of sound.
Overall their well built stylishly designed and well worth the price. I'd highly recommend to others

The Plantronics (Poly) Focus 2 Unified Communications stereo headset is comfortable and can be adjusted to provide a comfortable experience even if you have to wear it all day long. The over the ear headset speaker fit comfortably on top of your ear with nice soft padding material, in addition there is a plastic band which connects both earpieces with a foam bridge (sling) that is well padded to provide a comfortable feel while resting on your head. If you don’t care for a headset that rests over your head, this one still feels comfortable. In addition, there is a boom microphone to pickup your voice, you can flip the boom up and which mutes the microphone, pretty handy when having to talk to someone near you, while you are speaking to someone on a call (it also has a small button on the microphone boom which will also mute/unmute). The microphone picks up your voice without a lot of background interference you find in many office or call center environments. The microphone boom can be used on either side of your head as it rotates about 270 degrees, so if you prefer the mic on the left side that is easily accomplished. The are also touch volume and call controls on the side of the speakers, with audio volume up/down variable pitch tones when there is no content or call being played, interesting how that works, frankly a nice touch.
How does the unit sound? in has Advanced Digital Active Noise cancelling (ANC) which works very well in suppressing background noise, using a medium, high or off switch on the top of the outside earpiece (usually the right side). It can also play stereo audio and does a pretty good job with sound reproduction, I played one of my favorite goto FLAC audio tracks and the detail was excellent for a “work” headset. The headset dynamically adjusts the frequency response based on content, voice conversation or media. In addition this headset auto picks up a call when lifted up and placed on your head and vice versa when you take it off you head, muting the call. Now some of the advanced management features and integration with typical office phones requires the Voyager Office Base which was not provided in this package (the generic charging stand was included). In addition to get the extended range and Poly software management features you need to use the supplied Bluetooth USB-A dongle, however it will connect to your device PC or Mobile Phone using the native Bluetooth connectivity, so dongle use is not mandatory. You can also connect directly to your PC by using the provided USB-A cable.
My overall impression of the headset is that it is well designed and ergonomically comfortable for people that either take calls all day or participate in Microsoft Teams or Zoom meetings all day. The only downside is the microphone boom does not seem long enough for some users, for instance it is fixed and although it rotates up and down you are not able to push it out away from your face. For me and my fat face, some positions seemed to put the microphone boom in contact with my face and I couldn’t find a way around this issue, leading me to believe it may have affected my voice pickup.
Pros:
- Clear and performs well for calls or playing back content
- Geared to call center users or those which have to have conversations remotely even for long duration.
- Tech specs are all there: Bluetooth 5.1, effective Active Noise Cancelling, frequency response.
- Ergonomic and mostly comfortable.
Cons:
- Boom mic design did not work well for me, too short and was difficult to position without being right near my face or contacting it.
- Extended range or telemetry requires use of supplied Bluetooth dongle.
- Office phone connectivity requires the Voyager Office Base, the one supplied with model is for charging only.

After spending 2 hours trying to set-up these headphones (website navigation, searching for the manual, downloading their app, even getting on their Chat), I couldn't get them to work. What a hassle. And no phone support so someone could walk you through the set-up. Why can't these bluetooth headphones be "plug & play"? After reading the manual, I found that even the device itself is complicated. You really need to be motivated if you want to use this product. I've boxed them back up and will be taking them back to the store!

Fits A Purpose, But Not My Favorite

I've been using the Plantronics Voyager Focus 2 for about a work week now and I have a pretty good feel for it. In my opinion, they're a very niche product. I can see if someone wants to wear it for silence and to only hear the device they're on (online meetings, phone calls, etc), but they just seem extraneous to me.
The good:
1. Easy to set up and connect. You can use the dongle or use built in bluetooth. Pairing is super easy.
2. Comfort. They are on the ear so you can wear them much longer than in the ear (at least I can).
3. The sound is nice and clear. Noise canceling is ok, but doesn't work as well as over the ear pairs I have.
4. The microphone is designed to work on the left or the right, which is a God send for this kind of headphone.
5. The buttons are logically located and easy to find without fumbling or searching.
The not so good:
1. There is a slight delay between the computer and the headset. Not too uncommon with Bluetooth, but more noticeable for some reason.
2. The software lets you do some nice customization, but requires the dongle to connect even though I can pair the headset without it. The software is not necessary though, just a nicety.
If you are a writer or typist or someone who wants to block out the outside (mostly) and be comfortable for a long duration then you might find these to be a great addition. If you are doing business meetings then I think they are pretty bulky (especially if it's video).
In recap: They work, though with a slight delay, and they are comfortable and easy to use. The noise cancelling is pretty good for on the ear, but definitely doesn't block out everything.

Full disclosure these are the best headphones I have ever seen or are used for work from home environments. They are incredibly comfortable for long periods of time or use these for full eight or 10 hour shifts, and it doesn’t seem to get really uncomfortable for any part of it. The battery doesn’t seem to ever die. Well I’m sure it does it just will take longer than the 8 to 10 hours that I work to kill these. The charging dock is super easy doesn’t take up much space on your desk and the audio quality is bar none. I use this for about two weeks made several dozen phone calls, join several meetings, and even trade some gaming with it. My only complaint about this headset is the lack of base for gaming. Guess what? These headphones are not built for gaming they are designed for work from home environments, or in office environments. The set up process was easy for these. It was literally plug and play on my windows computer or Mac. If you are in the market for a new headset for your office or at home office you will not find a better set.

I am very impressed with this headset. It synced very easily to both my phone and my computer, which is a huge advantage over standard Bluetooth wireless headphones. For some that uses both their phone and their laptop while at work, it’s very convenient to have dual syncing capabilities. When I used the headset for work calls - typically on Microsoft Teams Meets - I found the clarity to be great. My co-workers were able to hear me clearly. In addition, I was able to hear them as well, with no issues. The microphone seemed to work well, as I had no problems with my words being understood. The only (small) flaw I can report would be, the microphone can be a little more visible that typical Bluetooth headphones, making it a bit cumbersome. When I used earbuds, they are barely visible. This headset is obviously a little more noticeable, both with the microphone and the headband. However, it’s very lightweight. Overall, having the ability to seamlessly sync multiple devices, and the speech and hearing clarity, make this well worth it.

I received this while on Christmas leave, so couldn't evaluate it until I returned to work yesterday. I connected the USB charging stand, thinking it would link to my laptop through the USB port. No, I did not read the manual before I began :) Seeing that it wasn't connected, I then activated my Bluetooth pairing on the laptop, and looked at the quick start guide to see how to activate it on the headset. Within seconds I had it linked to my work laptop, and could use it for phone, Zoom and Teams calls.
The audio quality is very nice. I spent some time just listening to music playing on iTunes on the laptop. The noise cancelling quality made the music sound nice, but I noticed that after a couple of hours the headphones were a bit uncomfortable to wear. That might be something personal to each person. And it might be the glasses I wear making it a bit uncomfortable pressing against my ears, so just take that as a consideration. It's certainly possible that with long term use the headset will conform better to my head, and/or my head will simply become more comfortable with it.
People on the other end of the phone call said the audio was clear. The noise cancelling function worked well on phone calls as well. Only donning the headset for calls, and then taking it back off, eliminates any discomfort from extended usage. And as I mentioned, I'll likely get used to it anyway. It's really nice not being tethered to the computer by the cord during a call, as I can get up and move around without worrying about the cord.
Since I can't install software on my work laptop, I installed the Poly Lens software on my personal computer to see what it offers. The software allows viewing battery charge state, a lot of settings that are only available via the software, and the ability to update the firmware in the headset. Since it comes with a USB receiver, I could connect the headset to my personal computer, which doesn't have Bluetooth.
