This works best on a clean non-slick dashboard surface. It is very adaptable to the curvature of your dash. Holds the GPS very well as you can adjust the view angle the way you want it. Lot better than sticking it on your windshield using the provided suction cup one.

This keeps my GPS in place where I want it. No more worries about it sliding all over my dashboard. When I'm done driving, I just pick it up and can put it in the trunk or under the front seat.....no more suction cup mark on the windshield that tells people that there is a GPS device in the car.

The friction mount doesn't hold as well as I had anticipated.

Based on reviews by others, I purchased this GPS mount with my Garmin GPS. I already have a "bean bag" mount but that slides all over the place. This mount, for now, has a sticky underside and holds the GPS securely in place. Happy with this purchase.

Did not read the review but knew my wife would not the 6 in GPS unit I purchased for her on the window. Much to my surprise when we received the mount, realized it was flexible and was able to conform to her dash perfectly. Great Great mount.

I removed the metal pin and turned the top in the opposite direction so it fit in my spouse's car above the steering wheel but not in any way obstructing his ability to drive and see his GPS without really having to take his eyes off the road.

This gel pad was surprisingly stable on the dash board of my truck. It conforms to any shaped dash and doesn’t move. I’ve purchased it for work and have driven with it for thousands of miles and have never had it fall.

Look it's not fancy or a game changer. It looks exactly like it's intended to perform and it does just that. I used it along with my 57lm gps for a 2900mile trip from WA to GA and it made it easy for me. The product performs and does what it's supposed to.

Smaller and more stable than those 'bean bag' style base units that you connect the suction cup mount to. And you'll never need to worry about the suction cup disconnecting! And it doesn't slide or fall over.

There wasn't room between the dash and the windshield to use this mount. I had to go back to the original windshield suction cup. But, it would have been a great mount for a different car.

Bought this because I drive several different vehicles and hate window mounting all the time. This is much easier to use, just grab and go to whatever you are driving next. Works great and holds your GPS as well as the mount it cam with.

The stock rubber suction cup mount for the Garmin is a joke. The suction lasts about 15 minutes and then the unit topples off the dash onto the floor. This Portable Auto Friction Mount for Select Garmin GPS stays put.

I have a Ford conversion van and my husband is sitting in his wheelchair and wanted to be able see the information on the Garmin GPS. This mount helps to keep the unit seated on the dash.

I use the friction mount with my Nuvi 2595 in a Silverado truck. The dashboard is curved downward toward the windshield. The friction mount stays where I placed on the dashboard around sharp turns and sudden stop and go driving. Better than the old mounts that were sold.

This portable mount is very sturdy. However, I had to return it coz my gps nav came with a mount of its own. But this is good for people looking for a sturdy mount for their car's nav.

Sits on the dash and has enough "sticky" surface that it doesn't have to fully lay flat. Nice to have the screen at eye level, but out of the way so it doesn't interfere with your view of the road.

My garmin GPS was popping off of my windshield. With this mount, I was able to stop that from happening again. The base is mold able to fit the curve of the dash. I can position and reposition, or put it away if I don't need it.

Although the footprint is a little larger than most, it is moldable and stays in place. On sale this mount couldn't be beat. I was tired of the windshield mount always falling off in the hot sun and this item fits all of our cars.

The adhesive on the bottom that holds the mount to the dashboard doesn't stick very well on dashes with curves but it sticks enough to not fly off when you hit a bump.
