PowerA - DUALSHOCK 4 Charging Station for PlayStation 4 - Black You've planned this guy's night for days. You've got the snacks out, a cooler of drinks ready, TV set up and your PlayStation 4 raring to go. Your buddies start to show up and you can't wait for the gaming action to begin. You fire up the console and get out on the battlefield. Everything is going great, your team is taking down enemies left and right and you're sure that victory is yours until suddenly your soldier stops moving. Frantically, you look down to realize your DUALSHOCK 4 controller has died. How embarrassing. Now you have to interrupt the action so that you can plug in and give your controller some juice. Avoid this inconvenient scenario by storing your DUALSHOCK 4 controllers on this Charging Station, and next time, guy's night will go off without a hitch. This Charging Station can charge and store two DUALSHOCK 4 controllers to ensure they are powered up and ready for game time, as well as to keep them neatly stowed away. The attractive, compact design won't take up too much space and makes an eye-pleasing addition to your media setup. You'll know the moment your controllers are fully charged thanks to LED indicators, and the AC adapter plugs into the wall to keep your PlayStation 4's USB ports open. Once the gaming action is done, put your controllers right back on the Charging Station, and you'll know that they'll be ready to go next time. This DualShock charging system is worth every penny because keeping your controllers always charged up makes it more convenient for when you're ready to play your video games so definitely purchase this to Best Buy and get any protection or replacement plan for this item and Best Buy will take care of you

When I say this is a must have if your kids has this gaming system. We learned our lesson quick a couple years ago when we purchased our other son the Xbox One. He literally was going through a 16 pack of batteries in a week it was insane. Those regular batteries don't last at all. We we're stressed out like wth did we get ourselves into. We spend all this money for this gaming system now looks like we will have to spend just as much on the batteries or more for a lifetime. After doing research we found this similar product for the Xbox so when we purchased his Playstation this was a must purchase along with it. Trust me you will spend the cost of this control charger on batteries easily in just one month. We even tried the rechargeable batteries and our sanity still wasn't intact. This here is a must purchase, you'll thank me later. :)

This is officially the third unit I've owned. I recently sold off the second unit (which was a manufacturer replacement) after selling my PS4 bundle to upgrade to the Pro. First, I will say that this is probably the best unit, aesthetically speaking. The way the two controllers sit back to back looks nice. That's (unfortunately) important when living in a home and the feng shui has to be on point. The most frequent issue that I have come across is that one of the ports will either stop charging a controller, or it won't charge the controller at all. Therefore, I am left with just one port to charge two controllers. I understand, I do not always use two controllers, but when I need two to play with others, it becomes a hassle when one of the two controllers dies quickly. I've merely had this new unit for approximately 2 months, bought with a new system and an extra controller, and it's already having issues. There is a 2 year manufacturer warranty, but it's definitely an issue that it's happened so often. I'm sure I'm not the only one.

I purchased this on sale, got it home, read the instructions and set it up. I plugged my 1st controller in (they're not exactly easy to line up to enable charging) and it began charging immediately. I plugged my 2nd controller in and the device would not allow it to sit straight, preventing it from charging. I contacted Power A and they asked for a photo (same one here), saw their device was defective and not only sent me an entire replacement, but upon my requesting that they start the warranty for the replacement unit on the day it was delivered from them to me, they agreed and apologized it was so. So this device seems to come from a good company which supports both their products and (best of all) their customers. The replacement has worked perfectly and I highly recommend this Power A dual PS4 controller charger! My photo is of intital, defective unit.

The charger looks alright but it takes up to much space as you are required to keep it sideways; if you turn it to face you then it becomes very difficult to impossible to grab the controller in the back without having to pick up the whole thing. Another problem is how 'sticky' it is, most of th time you have to use two hands to pick up a controller; one to grab the controller, and one to hold down the charging station. It's not really a problem but it does get really annoying. And finally the angles are horrible; you're not putting it in vertically, horizontally, or snapping it into place, you just have to either have a light shinning on it to line up the holes with the plug or just get lucky. When I used my PS3 controller charger it only took a week to get a hang of how to plug them in, with this it's been almost three weeks and I still have to guess. And it definitely doesn't help that you have to put it in sideways, while the thing scoots around on you. And to top it off it's already broken. I was just watching netflix when one of the controllers jumped off the charger. After closer inspection I found that the locking mechanism had broken on one side, this made it possible to only charge 1 controller at a time.

I purchased one for my Playstation 4 when i first got it, and it has been an excellent device. It is very easy to use and is very convenient. You just put the controller on top and push it into place, where it will lock into position and start charging. When it is down, you push it back down to retrieve it. It is very smooth and fits the controller perfectly. When a friend got a Playstation 4, I bought this as a present for them, but there was a mechanical error in it, so that when you pushed down to retrieve the controller, it would delay and roughly snap up. In contrast mine was very smooth and nice. I had it returned to get a new one. It was much better, as it no longer snapped up. However, it still has rougher action than my first charger. In addition, the cable doesn't perfectly fit into the spot under the device holding it, so it just falls out. If all of them were as good as my first charger, I'd rate it a full 5, but 2 out of 3 devices were inconsistent with minor issues. They all still charged well and were still very convenient, giving me a spot to store the controllers.

I'm giving this product four stars even though we had a problem with it. I see a few other people had a similar problem but ranked it only one star. The manufacturer stood behind the product for me so I don't feel the need to rank them too low. I took off the one star because I don't think I should have had a problem with it in the first place. I bought the first one at my local Best Buy on Dec 26, 2015. It worked great for about six weeks before we noticed that one side was not charging. I contacted the manufacturer, gave them the info they requested and they sent us out a replacement at no charge. That said, the charger works great and keeps the controllers topped off and ready for the next adventure. Some of the chargers I looked at required a dongle that stays attached to the controller, I like this one because it doesn't require a dongle. I highly recommend keeping either your original receipt or a clear .jpeg image of the receipt with the item's serial number in the pic also, just in case, for the length of the warranty. (2 years on this one)

I love this thing. I originally purchased the $15 Power A single charger for PS4 (Model: 1346333-01 SKU: 4466201) and promptly returned it for this one. The $15 charger is absolute garbage. GARBAGE! Don't buy it. If you did buy it, you need to get right back into your car, drive to Best Buy and exchange it for this one. Seriously. This is twice the price, but you'll thank me, I promise. Here's why I hate the cheaper model and love this model: the single charging station doesn't come with an AC adapter, so you MUST either have an USB wall adapter, or use the USB ports on the front of the PS4. If Sony had put a USB on the back of the system, I would have been OK with it. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra $15 for this one. You're welcome.

    Just What I Needed

This charger is exactly what I was looking for. Charge port along the front of the controller will not hold a cable anymore due to being plugged and unplugged so many times, so I resorted to buying one of these in hopes that it would solve my problem. Turns out it was just what I needed! When setting the controller in to charge, you have to gently push the cradle down until it clicks and the light bar should start to glow indicating that the controller is charging. When you're ready to play again, gently push down on the cradle to bring the controller back up before trying to remove it from the cradle. The base does what you need it to do, but it's NOT indestructible so be mindful of where you place it and how high off the floor it is.

I've had this for 3-4 weeks now. Charges 2 controllers well and quickly. It's different than a charger I had for my PS3 and IT's controllers. This one doesn't have a snug fit when the controllers are docked. It doesn't affect the chargeability at all, it just takes some getting used to. You line up the curve of the PS button, push down, it has a spring-loaded "give", and it starts to charge. Also, the light on the controllers will light up yellow when you dock it at first, and will blink yellow while charging, but there is no light or indicator telling you the controllers are officially charged. I had one weird thing the first week where all of a sudden it wasn't charging. However in troubleshooting I unplugged it and plugged it into another outlet and it charged just fine. I took it back to the original outlet and have had no problems ever since. Maybe the wire just had a loose connection. I wish there were USB inputs on this so that we could plug/charge our two additional controllers, but we just rotate them and it's worked out fine.

This charger serves it purpose as a dual charging station. It allows users the ability to simply place the controllers on the dock when finished them so that they'd be ready to go when you next choose to use them. "PROBLEM IS" the next time you're ready to grab the controller and play, the battery may be dead. I placed both controllers on the charger the night b4, both lights on the controllers showed that they were in fact charging. Next day I'm using 1 controller and the battery became low. I grabbed my 2nd controller from the station only to find that it was completely dead. And this is not the 1st, or 2nd, or even the 5th time I've had this happen since I bought this charger. Sony can we get a media remote to use for apps like the WWE Network or Blu-ray & Netflix so we can stop wasting batter life on the controllers while watching please... The Xbox One has one. It sucks, but at least they have an official remote

Man, I was a dummy for not buying this thing right away when I bought my PS4 a few years ago. I have not had to use any cables or wires for well over a year now. No more tripping over anything. I can just charge my two controllers all day/night (in a convenient place), and keep playing for hours on end (much to the dismay of my wife). I even discovered that one controller that I thought had died because it wouldn't charge with the cable, starting working after I charged it using this product. It charges the controllers from the bottom inputs. I even had brought my "dead" controller into some electronic experts who told me the thing was dead. So much for being experts. I am glad I kept a hold of it and can now use it again thanks to this product!

After checking out reviews of the handful of DualShock 4 chargers out there, I chose this one, and I'm not disappointed. It may not be a flashy design (it uses the standard amber charging color on the controllers instead of using red/blue), but it works well and doesn't take up much space. Since the connection is through an auxiliary connection below the PS button and not through the micro-USB port, the connection is firmer and the controllers are very stable on the charger. The only real trick is to make sure you push the controllers straight down until they latch firmly in place. The controller light glows amber (just like plugging it into the PS4 console), then goes out when the controller is fully charged. Simply press down on the controller and it will disengage and pop up, ready to use again.

It's a not a very user-friendly device. The cradles' connection points at which each controller is plugged in takes much more finagling than the Energizer™'s product. If this product does have a lighting scheme for indicating if a controller is being charged and/or how much it has been charged, it's not apparent with the sort of clarity (red glow vs. green glow) offered by "PDP Energizer 2X Charging Station for PS4." Without this lighting scheme, there isn't a very clear means for determining when a controller is fully charged. Also, it's spring-loaded cradle feature is more of a nuisance than a clever design feature. This product claims to have LED indicators for charge levels. If it does, they don't functional. Upon properly mounting a PS4 controller, the controller's light bar glows a shade of yellow for a brief moment, but never again shows any lighting indicator thereafter. It's only pro is that it takes up very little space.

I was very sceptical and done a ton of research about this product. Well, I always do that. I was reading the reviews of this product on every website selling this model, then finally zeroed into Best Buy. Best Buy was the cheapest from all other stores or e-stores. Now about the product - Believe me this product saves you tonnes of problems with too many wires. The stand is robust though the instructional pamphlet doesn't tell you much about how to use the item. But once you figure out figure out how to place the controller it becomes very easy. 5 stars for the price 5 stars for the easiness and no hassle of wires.

This charger works well to ensure that two PS4 controllers are always topped up on battery. The controllers plug into the charger using one of the ports on the bottom of them and a spring loading mechanism on the charger makes it relatively easy to get them into the correct position without looking. I've got a very old PS4 controller and a current revision (with the light bar showing through the touchpad) and they both work fine. My only complaint is that this device wouldn't work well if you had more than two controllers that needed to be plugged in - it's not set up in a fashion that would lend itself to keeping multiple chargers adjacent to each other.

Not so bad but not great, it could be easier to put the controller back on charging station, you need to position controller on dead center to snap it in but it seems to be too light and moves on the surface too easy. I guess it is ok if it stands somewhere right in front of your eyes but as soon as you try to position it anywhere where it will not jump right on you it gets difficult to put controllers back because you need to be very precise. Also, it does not have the option to plug it in into a USB port, it has its own charger which needs to be plugged into a wall outlet so there is one more cable to make a mess and occupy one more outlet.

We purchased this because we have a ps3 charging station and love being able to charge more than one controller at a time. I was a little hesitant because our ps3 charger for some reason will always tell me my black controller is fully charged when I know its not but it will charge my other two just fine. I love that I can charge two controllers at the same time I get tired of having to leave the ps on at night just to charge the controllers and then have to switch controllers out in the morning to charge the other one..if you want to charge the controller you put it on the charger and push it down until it clicks. I love that when it is charged I can push it down again until it clicks and it can just sit on the charger until we are ready to use them. There was one time I tried to charge the controller and it wouldn't light up as if it was fully charged but hasn't happened since

With the recent upgrade to PS4, I've found the controllers battery life to be less than the PS3 controllers. So, I've had to keep a controller plugged into USB input on front of PS4. Not a HUGE deal, but the cable hangs down in my entertainment shelving. This charging dock uses AC plug to charge and keep your PS4 controllers charged, thus eliminating the need to take up one of the 2 USB slots on front of the PS4. Definitely not a need to have, but I now have both controllers ready at any time I'm ready to play, which is a nice to have. $30 is half the price of a game, and could be considered a little high for a molded piece of plastic and power cord, but the convenience is decent. If it lasts for the 6-8 years I expect to get out of the console and helps preserve the batteries in my controllers, it's "price per usage" is pretty solid.

Been through 2 of these charging stations. You have to place the controllers on the station and push down. After a month the first one we purchased, on side of the charging station stopped staying in the down position to charge. So we just used the one side and switched between our two controllers. The other side stopped working the same so we purchased a new one thinking maybe the first was just a lemon. It was 2 months after our second purchase the push down stopped working on one of the sides again. We are lucky to even get a chance to play weekly between work. The controllers pretty much just sit on the station waiting for us to use.
