    Great Wired Xbox controller alternative

I've been using this wired controller off and on for a few weeks now on my primary PC. It's been working great so far. Once it is connected to the PC the little light will always stay on. I haven't been noticing any lag or any button difference from the wireless XB1 controller. The grip is smoother and it is a little lighter than the XB1 controller. I don't like the bumper buttons and the D-Pad on the controller but that is more of the fault of it copying from the XB1 controller. I much prefer the PS4 button layout and the mushy buttons rather than the clicky XB1 buttons but the XB1 controller feels better in the hands. The micro USB cable is a good length and is a proprietary cable to the controller. It is detachable with a rectangular head but it has a little groove that can only fit into the controller. Why would you make the wire required and detachable but not allow it to take any other micro USB cable? I had to use an exacto knife to carve the plastic head of a better micro USB cable that I wanted to use. It is a great value if you want an extra XB1 controller, The gold color was on sale for $20. I got it for $15 with a $5 certificate. I would not pay the $30 full retail price for it. At that point it would be better to just get the official XB1 controller for a litter more when it goes on sale.

I saw this controller and had been wanted to pick one up for my PC for a while, so at 20 bucks I decided to buy it. At first, the controller feels pretty good in your hand and everything feels natural. When plugging in the wire to the top of the controller, it was a little bit of a pain, but not that big of a deal. Then the issues started to arise. When I plugged the controller into my computer it would not work. I checked the drivers and even used other drivers for xbox controllers with no luck. After multiple different attempts at troubleshooting I plugged the controller into another USB port and then it decided to work. Initially I thought I had a bad USB port, but it worked just fine for everything else I had plugged into my computer. It turns out this controller will not work on a USB 3 slot, it has to be a USB 2 slot. So don't make the same mistake that I did and plug it into a USB 3. Otherwise, now the controller works ok and without issue.

Good for about a month. Then stopped working

Bought in mid October. For about a month, this actually played very well for a cheap controller. Then about a month after purchase, the left trigger stopped working properly, responding like I was pushing the right trigger instead. I put in a ticket with PowerA on their website, because they claim to offer a 1 year warranty. That's one of the things that made me feel comfortable buying a cheap $30 controller in the first place. Now it's been 10 days with zero response from PowerA. Guess it's time to return to Best Buy. I won't be buying any more PowerA products. Poor build quality and poor customer support do not add up to a brand worth buying.

Made Me Decide to Get A PlayStation Instead

I originally bought this to use on my PC for Steam games that I have purchased only Steam doesn't work with anything but their own controllers. Online information told me this product would work with Steam. I tried it online via Windows 10 XBox app and it didn't work with Microsoft's games either. Maybe it works with the XBox console, but it doesn't work with their Windows 10 app. Since it can't be used for anything useful, I decided to just keep it and give it to somebody who has an XBox console or at least save the long cord that goes with it. I plan to purchase a PlayStation instead since it's obvious to me XBox costs more than it's worth. The person at Best Buy told me initially to get a PlayStation because there is more variety. I'll wait until after Christmas.

I didn't think I would use this much. I figured I would use it only when my wireless remote died. Well, I bought both this wired remote and a wireless remote at the same time. It's been two months and I haven't even unboxed the wireless remote yet. The cord on this remote is nice and long. I can use it when I ride my stationary bike. I haven't had any problems with sticking. The only issue I've had (which I think was an issue with FIFA 19) is that sometimes, the "B" button won't register. When I get out of FIFA, the button works fine. It has two additional buttons not on the wireless remote-other than the cord and the two extra buttons, I don't see a difference.

I bought this one in store at the end of March at $19.99 on sale. Today, after one and a half months, the left stick starts to lose sensitivity. My character seems to "hesitate" while I simply push the stick to order him forward. I don't consider myself to be a heavy user, playing around 10 hours a week. I guess that's what you'd expect from a cheap controller. Still, the product is good enough on all other regards, I think it feels good and it's compatible with win10.

This controller is not for me. I purchased it for my fiancé while it was on sale seeing he has to switch through battery’s so much on his wireless and he hated it. I myself gave the controller a try and also hated it. Upon disliking this controller I was unable to return it because I purchased it during a promotional period and therefore I’m now stuck with it because Best Buy won’t let you return crap that you think you will like during a promotion. Good luck

This purchase was for my son. He wanted the extra buttons but is not quite ready for a scuff. He has no complaints, but I picked up the controller and it seemed very light. Even with the batteries out of a standard controller, they remain heavier than the PowerA. Hoping it will hold up for a couple of years. With that said it is so similar to a standard Xbox controller you will have no difficulty using it straight away.

Being an off-brand controller I was skeptical. I had never used an PowerA device before, but this controller sold me on the brand! I haven't used it on an X1, this was a replacement for my PC controller. The only real disadvantage is the wire, but the cord was a good length. The buttons and thumb-sticks feel great and are very responsive. This controller was on sale for $19.99 and I coulnd't be happier for the price.

If you are able to catch this on sale then it's worth it, but don't expect it to last very long with much more than casual use. My kid goes through one of these every 4-6 months playing Fortnite, while an actual xbox controller lasts about a year or so under the same use. Again, it's a decent controller for the price and a great spare controller or controller for younger kids.

Feels Like A Cheap Plastic Toy & Connection Issues

I recommend going with the PDP brand XboxOne Controllers. I've had one too many issues with the PowerA XboxOne Controllers, from buttons jamming or sticking, right and left trigger buttons popping out to eventual connection issues. Usually around 5 to 6 months of use the controller would begin to disconnect and reconnect with the slightest movement of the controller.

This controller is a major pain, first issue is when you are talking with people on xbox live, they hear a buzzing in your mic because it is connected to your xbox. Also, buttons were activated without me pressing them at some points. worst controller, it could barely last me a month without giving me issues. might as well just get the wireless controller or a used one

Easy and simple to use no batteries because it's a cord at first I thought or cord is hard to use but actually my kid is the one that uses it and remove the remote last because it has a cord attached to the Xbox it's kind of neat go retro try the cord one also the Xbox has trouble linking wirelessly the wire cord can help with that too

Bought this for a Raspberry Pi 3b+ build

I built a Raspberry Pi emulator with a ton of games and the Nintendo controller and USB PC controller didn't work well. I had difficulty with 4 way movement on old games that use a 4 way joystick. I figured try the Xbox controller with the analog stick. It works great. An old favorite, Jr. Pacman works very well with the Xbox controller. Very happy with the purchase.

For the price it's a great controller for what I use it for. I play Forza on my PC with it and have had no issues other than my left trigger getting stuck sometimes but I just used the macronbuttons available on the controller to work around it

Solid controller for the price. I use it for PC gaming and the buttons feel great. Only complaint would be the two buttons on the bottom of controller that are programmable are easily hit by mistake when shifting your hands on controller.

It is a way to help you play better than a regular one but does lack a .12 second response to buttons . Which only is bad if you enter tournaments . But the added feature of the under buttons may help some more than a speed loss hurts . So buy for your way to play .

These work. However you can tell they aren't as good of quality as the actual Microsoft controller. The analog sticks began to stick after a week of use. I bought 2 and ended up swapping for the Microsoft wireless controllers and am much happier.

I broke the left analog stick on (2) of my expensive Xbox one controllers in less than 30 days and refused to buy another one at $60. This was an affordable solution. Although it's not as sexy and doesn't move as fluid it's definitely worth it!

Really a good controller. You will notice a difference in the responsiveness immediately as compared to the wireless controller. Soft grip is nice too. Its a game changer for me, particularly online it seems to give you a leg up. Try it!!!
