Cool but requires primary batteries

Unfortunately 1.2V NiCad or NiMh (The 2 most popular rechargeable types) don't work well because normal "AA's" are 1.5V so starting low means they will not work as long.

Only minus is the amiibo-reading (NFC) functionality is not available on these, so if you use that in any games you will still need a controller/joy-con with that capability. Big Plus - they are very efficient, and last a long time between battery changes. For any family like ours with a tray of rechargeable AA batteries, these are a no brainer.
