Most importantly, it is powered via wall plug rather than USB cable plugged into the PS5. There are precious few USB slots on the PS5, so I'd rather not tie one up with a charging dock.

There is a trick or caution, you need to angle the charger just slightly forward then drop it into the cradle. Verify the two leds on the controller pulses orange to signify its charging. If not just readjust as necessary to reseat. After a couple of tries it becomes a snap.

You need to check the light to make sure it is charging, and when the light goes out it is done. It charges slower than when connected with the cord that connects directly with the ps5 that came with the ps5, but it still works well. Good for charging 2 controls at once.
