It does take batteries but it comes with 2 AAs which is all it needs. Its pretty easy to set up and i havent had any problems with it. I dont know how durable it is but seems pretty well made. I personally like more dense controllers but its definitely worth its price.

Grandson's Mario Controller

It is very cheap feeling in the hands, and it has a little bit of weight to it when you add the AA batteries that come with it which I like. It does the job, and the extra buttons on the back are a nice touch.
