This is a very enjoyable game but the problem is the game is NOT ready for release. I would have preferred a December release or even early 2015 to get all the bugs worked out. UbiSoft is patching the game but I couldn't play past the intro level. The frame rate was horrible and the game eventually froze. The story is very similar to Ezio's in Assassin's Crred 2. I wish the story was more original but Ezio is the best AC character so far so I'm going to overlook it.

Great looking game and story but it feels less due to last years in installment. Black flag was real a step ahead of this. Unless your a true novelist your wont appreciate the subtle changes made.

If this game wasn't so buggy, I'd give it a higher score but I just can't fully support a modern game that wasn't ready to be released. Even with the patches I see atrocious glitches and the free running has actually been made worse than previous installments which baffles me. The redeeming quality is in fact the story which surprised me. If you haven't played Black Flag, go play that instead since it's one of the best ones. But if you really need a quick fix, it's still a relatively good time. Try harder next time, Ubisoft.

This game is good. I waited for the patches to fix the glitches before I bought it, but it seems totally fine now. If you are a fan of the AC franchise, it's def worth checking out.

It's an Assassins Creed game, has good mechanics, interesting story. Only downside there's a lot of bugs and glitches. But overall enjoyable if you've played previous installments.

There is nothing to be said about this game if you are an assassins creed lover. Except for the glitches upon release, this game is all that it was played up to be. I love it.

I loved the story. The characters were well fleshed-out and the plot was engaging. The gameplay took a little while to master but made the experience more satisfying.

If you have played a member of the Assassin franchise everything here is familiar. So far I have seen little that is unique to only this game in the series. Perhaps the newest addition is the ability to own and build Social Clubs. That is fun and rewarding.
On PS4 the game is astoundingly gorgeous. Paris comes alive and is chock full - sometimes over crowded - with life. Buildings glisten and stained glass windows shine. There are some really cool elements where the whole environment is falling apart that are also wonderful eye candy.
Gameplay has improved somewhat and inherited elements from other Ubisoft games.
There are a few issues. One is that there are bugs. I got stuck and could not move my character at one point and simply needed to quit and start the game again. There are places where the frame rate suffers or the ability to move the character suffers from rendering speed issues.
The world is huge. Huge!! This is great in terms of giving the gamer value for the money but can also be a little daunting. There are so many things to do and so many variations that it is some times difficult to make decision about what to do.
Crime is rampant in revolutionary France. And this too can get a little too much at times. During a specific quest, you can end up having two or three public events (crime) that distract you. There are times when the cut between live in game action and a cut-scene is jarring.
Over all I am very happy with my purchase and expect to spend a serious number of hours on this adventure.

I got this on launch day (Limited Edition) and had an update for the game and the PS4 before playing. The game is flawless after playing it for 5 hours in single player. I never experienced any frame rate drops, nor glitches yet. So I say go buy this game! Its fun, and incorporates things from the past AC games but all polished up.

I have always liked the Assassins Creed games. They constantly added in more and more things you can do and in the last game it was a huge feast of entertainment. With the Next Gen series they went back to basics in a lot of ways. You can't own a boat, can't go hunting or foraging, can't disarm or throw people. But what you can do is truly awesome!
For the first time in an AC game the combat is hard. The AI will surround you, attack at the same time, shoot you and will very frequently kill you! I am usually quite good at the Arkham/AC fighting systems and in this one the AI will blind you with flash bangs and in general make your fight a feat.
The graphics in AC Unity is top notch. There are bugs every now and then but the amount of technical detail they put in this game is staggering. I will be walking down the street and actually people watch. IN A VIDEO GAME! There are scenes where there are hundreds and thousands of characters on the screen, all doing their own thing and making the world feel alive.
Also for the first time AC has included COOP. To do this they took out the competitive game play that they had in other AC games (that I actually loved) and added in full free roam 4 player multiplayer player. On top of the free roam they added in missions and heists and while I wish they were a bit more random with enemy placement, etc, they are still a load of fun!
I recommend this game. There are some bugs and issues that creep up but it won't stop you from loving this game.

Very fun Assassins game, one of the best. The visuals are top notch, very populated lived in world with lots to do. If you’re a fan of Assassins Creed and haven’t played this yet, or if you’re new to the series and aren’t familiar with the games, this is a great one dive in to. Assassins Creed games can be a bit repetitive at times, but when the formula is done right you can have a lot of fun for a lot of hours. I’d say Unity is top tier Assassins Creed and does not disappoint.

Assassin's Creed Unity has some great things going for it in terms of beautiful graphics (the attention to detail on the exterior as well as the interior of Parisian buildings is AMAZING), huge areas to explore, the ability to play with other people right in the game and have your spoils add to your in-game character, and customization for the main character Arno.
It also has a few things that will get on your nerves, namely the load times for training, practicing, and fast travel, the lack of information regarding certain chests and doors you may need to open during missions. I recall the countless minutes to hours I spent trying to get through early co-op missions only to realize that the chests I needed to open could only be done so with a higher lockpicking skill than I had this early in the game. I guess it will give players a reason to go back when they have attained the right level, but some of those missions are pretty tedious and the reward may not be worth the added time required. Also, the old multiplayer option of killing other human controlled assassins on a level does not exist in this new version and I miss it. Playing with other human controlled assassins to complete a common goal can be fun, but I really miss being able to stealthilly take down real players by myself.
That aside, I really enjoy this game and think that a lot of people will as well. A definite game to get or give this holiday season.

Ambitious game but loaded with technical issues

Assassin's Creed Unity is an ambitious game in terms of world building and NPC count. The amount of characters on screen is staggering, the artwork is outstanding and Paris in the French Revolution is represented surprisingly accurately to an almost 1:1 scale. However, the game buckles under the weight of its ambition.. resulting in low framerate throughout especially during high densitu crowd moments. The game play is standard Assassin's Creed formula with minor changes to platforming controls and parry system so that it's harder to dispatch 15 foes at once. There are a ton of side missions with main story being around 12 to 14 hours first time through. The story is presented well through solid voice work and cutscene direction. The game features some out of game mechanics that are an annoyance like the ACU Companion app unlockables. Game suffers from a myriad of glitches like game crashes, NPC bugs and jittering/ghosting. If the technica issues are fixed via patch then this would've easily been a 4/5 star game especially with the online co op, which is also subject to technical faults.

The newest installment to a franchise that has been labeled by many as a "cash grab" at this point, AC:Unity brings nothing significant to the table except for the setting. If you are looking for a novelty Creed game, then this may not be the game for you. However, if you are a fan of the franchise, then exploring Revolutionary France will be a joy! Not every moment is as crisp as there are still outstanding bugs that will detract from your experience, but these are not horrifically obtrusive!
Fight for glory! Fight for (a seemingly English-dialect dominated) France!

I am a big fan of the assassins creed franchise and this is another great game for that franchise. it is a true next gen experience with more characters on screen than ever before. the city of Paris is greatly detailed and vast. Lots of actions and good story. only gripe would be that there are a few glitches in game and in co op but those should be fixed with patches coming out.
