Many people were disappointed at this game mainly because of the glitches and bugs. However, before even running the game for the first time, I installed all the available patches and updates, so far I have no complains at all.
I must say I was hesitant to buy it in the first place because of the bad reviews, but after playing for a while I can tell it is a great game, perhaps not the best but definitely a good one. I've played all the games in the AC series and this one is as good as the rest. The map of Paris is HUGE, and historical events are embedded in the main story as you would expect. For $20 it's a steal.

There is a lot of missions and chests to find. I've had this game for over a month and have only played two missions related to the storyline. I imagine a lot more activities will open up once I do finish the storyline. Freerun R2 button and climbing into windows can be annoying sometimes as he does the opposite of what you want.

I read a lot of bad reviews about this game. Since there was a drop in price, I decided to give it a try. I don't know why this game got as much hate as it did. I am enjoying it. I can see the game is trying to evolve in its visuals and gameplay. Go ahead and give it a chance. I think it's a good addition to the AC series.

Game is very fun with lots of side missions. The multiplayer missions are nice too cause unlike previous assassins creed games once you complete the game there wasn't much replay value. Not the case with this one. My one big complaint with this game is the combat. Seems they made it more difficult to take on 20 guys and walk away without a cut. Think they are trying to get people to be more stealthy.

As usual, the graphics are top notch. I am literally walking through revolution era France. I love the characters and the intrigue, but I wish there were a horse or horse and carriage (a la origin and Syndicate) that would make getting around faster. I just started the game so maybe this is stuff you get later, but I am getting tired watching Arno climb buildings, run through alleys and jump from building to building. There are not enough fast travel sights to make using them a replacement for a vehicle.

This one just wasn't as good as some of the previous ones. Story is kinda bland. The game looks nice but doesn't always run that great. Still enjoyed some of the basic gameplay of running around stabbing guards but this was a bit disapointing.

The game has some performance issues to get worked out, however, the story is good and it is an attempt to bring the series back to its roots by focusing mainly on assassination type missions.

I've read many a review bashing unity for its lack of a lovable character and crummy story line, but I have to disagree on both accounts. I think the story is quiet well written and Arno is a realistic character... well until he starts climbing 50 story buildings or running across paris without so much as a break, but that's AC for you. The graphics are absolutely stunning and are paired well with a MASSIVE open world filled with seemingly endless opportunities to create mischief, solve mysteries, or just explore. Don't expect the combat to be easy though, unlike the Baddies in AC4 who would wait to attack one at a time, Unity's enemies will stab, club, or shoot you at anytime during combat. So don't expect to survive taking on 20-30 enemies at a time... let alone finding that many in one spot. Beyond the combat and open world lies the outstanding character customization options. Finally, you can customize your assassin to fit your play style. Like to sneak around? Equip some stealthy garments. Like to go in guns blazing? Pick up the garments that allow you to carry more bullets than you'll need. The possibilities for play style and customization are seemingly endless!

The fist few days since this game has released have seen plenty of average to poor reviews. I haven't personally experienced any of the horrible bugs and glitches that a lot of people have posted to the internet. There was one time when the game crashed to the PS home screen and I had to restart. Other than that, there are some framerate issues with large crowds and action.
Technical gripes aside, this is just more of what we love about Assassin's Creed. Sneaking and stabbing with a wacky sci-fi, alternate history plot-line. All the backstory is a bit vague so far, but I am only about 15% complete. The game looks simply amazing. Some great views and landscapes.

I haven't played an Assassin's Creed game since Assassin's Creed II, so I'm not sure how the previous games have been but I really enjoyed getting into this game. I had heard there were a lot of problems so I was waiting until they were patched and I'm glad I did.
The game has very good visuals, and like any other AC game it's fun to travel back in time and travel through historical towns. I really like how they changed the fighting to be pretty open instead of having to lock on to one enemy and everyone else just stare. Now you can engage a group and be able to parry or dodge an attack coming from behind, it all flows very well. I also really like the co-op element added and I have to admit this was the main reason I picked the game up. You can have up to 4 players travel around the city with you and there are about 11 co-op missions that you can do as a group (although some limit the group size to 2 or 3).
All in all, I recommend this game, especially now that the price has gone down.

I read lots of reviews before purchasing this game. I was a little worried because of all of the programming issues other reviewerst commented on. I updated the game before I started and I have had no issues. Game is lots of fun, story line is good, graphics are great. Highly recommend.

I bought this game when it first came out. I traded it in pretty quickly because of the bugs. I heard the bugs were fixed so I picked it up cheap on Black Friday. It definitely had bugs fixed and didn't play like a broken game but still noticed small bugs pretty frequently.
