Storyline: A good but forgetable main storyline is one of F3's weaknesses but the side quests can more than make up for it. Gameplay: A slight learning curve is required, especially for non-RPG players when it comes to inventory management/statistics. Otherwise, your world will be rocked when given a minigun and an open world. Graphics: Highly detailed buildings and rubble often seem slightly warped up close, but is high enough to promote an amazing environment. Audio: Everything from the pop of your first pistol to the far off sound of a gunshot in the wind is crystal clear. Want a real treat? Set a course for a town across the map and WALK THERE WITHOUT FAST TRAVEL OR A RADIO ON. This really brings out the atmosphere and by the end of your journey, you will have stumbled on to a few quests, one or two neat weapons, and a bunch of caps (or loot to sell).

Always buy a game by Bethseda if you want a game to last you over a hundred hours of gameplay and replay value. I found Fallout3 to be quite addicting to play. Fighting enemies are a pain when your character is low level but don't let that discourage you. You will have plenty of time to figure out what works best for your style. Plenty of options. Didn't like how character level peaks at 20 (or 30 with DL), but that gets fixed in Fallout New Vegas. Ending of main story line was rather lame.

I'm an old school RPG guy and this is my first venture into a shooter game. I enjoyed it but takes a little time to get used to the fast button action and fast paced action. A good 1st experience and I look forward to trying my of this style game
