Halo: The Master Chief collection delivers the best that Halo has to offer and boy oh boy does it look good in glorious HD! What's not changed: All the maps, the story, and every area of the games as you remember them are here. It's all been kept in tact perfectly. What's changed: *Graphical overhaul on all four games, more so on Halo 2 then any of the bunch and honestly that's the one that has always been the fan favorite and Microsoft did go all out to clean it up and it looks amazing. *The cut scenes have also had an overhaul in Halo 2 which have been nicely redone here by Blur Studio, they are also slightly longer then the original. *Halo 2 Anniversary multiplayer uses the six remastered maps, while a standard Halo 2 multiplayer includes all of the game's released maps with a full graphical update but no remastering. * The Collection multiplayer includes Mission Setlists, curated lists of levels selected from throughout the series. Extra content: *Access to Halo Nightfall *Access to Halo 5 Guardians Multiplayer Beta (not available until Dec 29th) Overall if you love Halo you're buying this collection. It set the bar and it's not lost it's appeal after all these years. This is pure fan service at it's finest and it's worth all the hype, and all the wait, and makes buying an Xbox ONE a worthy purchase.

If you like Halo you are crazy not to pick this up! It has all 4 Halo games in one game. The graphics and game play have been updated to fully utilize the Xbox One. The only issue I have is multiplayer has been buggy since launch. However, with that said, 343i is working day and night to get this issue resolved. Once 343i gets these issues ironed out, there is nothing more I can complain about.

What is there to say, if you are a HALO fan this is a must have -All four (4) Halo games on one disk. If you have never played any of the HALO games before than again, you are getting four games to enjoy and this will get you caught up a ready for HALO 5. The QUICK: 1) Play what you like, as you like it, the way you like it 2) Four classic games looking better than ever 3) Worth it just for Halo 2 & Halo 4 4) Multiplayer maps and modes from all four games The DIRTY: 5) You have to Download the Multiplayer content 6) Multiplayer issues even after the BIG updates. I purchased this because I wanted to re-play HALO 2 again...It has been a while. Add that I can replay the other three games and I was SOLD. Day One Purchase.

According to the description on the Best Buy website and also on the Microsoft online store it says this is a collection of 6 games. However When you go to play the games you will be prompted to pay more for the very first game in the storyline Reach and then later ODST. I already had most of these games, so essentially all I got with this is Halo 4 and I will still be stuck paying extra for odst. It’s best to dig out your old games if you have them because at least they will be compatible to play on the Xbox one or series x.

I received this item damaged, and customer service told me that they can't replace it because there is no more in stock, but if I decide to keep it, they can refund me the 10% plus $3.00 for compensation. When I called again to accept the refund, they told me that this refund didn't exist and all was be a confusion. The customer service was very deficient and they don't help me in anything. Is disgusting that I am a member from Best Buy since two years and they can solve a problem like this.

Great Nostalgia Ruined by Incomplete Multiplayer

The single player experience is great - fans of the Halo franchise, or newcomers will be getting the best Halo experience available. The games look great running at 1080p, especially the first 2 which have benefited from a lot of improvements during their individual re-masterings. It's great to instantly switch between "classic" and "remastered" visuals - though it's odd that Halo 1 won't let you do it during cutscenes even though Halo 2 will. Multiplayer, however, is a mess. Having worked in game development for almost 10 years, with Microsoft even, I wouldn't have imagined a game with this many bugs would actually get launched in this state. To date I have never successfully played a multiplayer match because every time I have tried I have met some kind of disastrous issue. For example: I bought this game for my brothers and I to enjoy together (we live in separate cities/states) - we formed a Party, joined matchmaking together, and somehow each ended up in separate games. Issues like that and a range of other baffling bugs (loss of control on load, crashes, loss of voice chat for no explanation)... It just makes this a really hard recommendation. It especially sucks to come in to a game thinking it's 5/5 stars, a great experience, just to hit these bugs and feel like the carpets been pulled out from beneath you. I still feel ripped off and I don't think Microsoft is doing anything quickly enough to remedy the situation. The patch to fix many of these bugs has been delayed... and they announce plans to compensate players who bought the game *literally* a day before I did. It's insulting to suggest a "cut off" for reparations when literally EVERYONE who bought this game is suffering from the same poor quality. I'll be more hesitant to continue supporting 343 with Halo 5 - especially after seeing how the beta only rendered at 720p. Come on!

Bought this game on release night. Great deal of a game.. you get Halo 1, 2, 3 and 4 with soon to come ODST. Campaigns and multiplayer combined, updated graphics and 60 frames per second, compared to the old and outdated 25/30 frames per second. Of course MM (matchmaking) has its issues, but 343 shells out updates and patches constantly.. in-time it'll be all fixed.. Finding games alone is pretty quick.. with parties not so much.. like i said.. soon to be fixed!! Graphics and frame rates really make this game killer!! Campaign is super fun, always is! Matchmaking has everyone.. your everyday try-hards, MLG pros and the dreaded NOOBs! LOL!

What drew me to console gaming

I hadn't done much in console gaming since the early 80's, until the first Halo C.E. came out - it was what made me buy an Xbox. I played on some of the other consoles in the interim, but never bothered buying anything, I did my gaming on my PC's. Halo changed that, and defined video games for me. And each iteration fleshed that out some more. This collection is great, since it gives you the enhanced, re-done graphics for a few of the games, and even now includes things like Reach (which it didn't when it first came out). Graphics are great, the story is great, and of course the music - Halo C.E. was the first video game that I had to go buy the CD of the soundtrack, it was so incredible. Only complaint is the controller changes over the games, but you can do things to help make it a bit more consistent now. Great price and a great way to get all of the previous versions in a single disc, designed for XB1. Not bad considering that the original Halo 1 was out on the very first Xbox... They did a great job porting it forward.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection is a must-have. The campaigns look and play great on Xbox Series X, and multiplayer still hits like day one. After years away, this instantly took me down memory lane, same epic soundtrack and iconic missions, but smoother and better than ever. If you love Halo or FPS games, this collection is essential.

It's pretty much what you would expect for the most part. The revamped Halo 2 graphics look great, and there is a boatload of content in the game for the price. However, the Multiplayer is a mess right now. When it works, it works very well(typical Halo matchmaking slowness aside), but when it doesn't you don't know what will go wrong, even going so far as crashing the entire game. I'm not really surprised that there are early issues with a game with so much in it, 100 maps, dozens of modes, basically 4 games reorganized into one package on a new system they weren't originally designed for. If you are reading this three months after release and the issues were never fixed, then consider it a 2.5 star, but for now I expect it to get fixed sooner than later.

    Halo MCC Worth Getting?

The answer is an overwhelming yes. All the major issues that plagued the game during it's first few months after release have been corrected and have made the game a more positive experience than it was back then. This collection provides the owner with content and that's putting it lightly. As stated, you get all 4 campaigns, every single multi-player map. Yes, the multiplayer does work now. Wait times last about 30 seconds, worst being 60 seconds. Not like at launch where you would have to wait 20 plus minutes. And some of the content that was missing at launch has been added, so there's even more content than ever before. There are still some minor issues that I've come across, one being, to make the multiplayer matchmaking process more functional, after every match, you get taken back to the multiplayer menu screen to restart another search. Meaning if you find a decent squad, chances of staying together without partying up is slim. Another issue I've encountered is due to all the video vignettes that play through every menu screen, it causes a slow down of certain items or screens, so the response time isn't immediate. Not really a major issue but does get to be a bit annoying at times. So, if you have hesitated in getting the game because of all the issues that it had in the beginning, I can attest that almost all of it has been corrected and truly makes this collection worth getting. Halo MCC provides content to just about every type of gamer out there; whether you are a single player lover, a multiplayer combatant, or an achievement hunter, it has something for everyone.

    Halo Collection

When the original Halo was released in 2001 it revolutionized the video game industry due to it: being the first major console first person shooter to use thumb stick controls, console multiplayer, advanced graphics, game physics and AI. Fourteen years later and the level design, story and gameplay still hold up compared to modern games. Instead of simply releasing a poorly ported collection of the Halo series, 343 studios went above and beyond and completely remastered the first game as well as upscale the resolution for the entire collections all while keeping the multiplayer intact. I highly recommend you give this collection a try!

It seems to be really popular so far this generation to just re-release a previously succesful game from a past generation. While that's applicable here, it's not a bad thing. For the price of the game you get-- 4 games worth of campaign modes, 4 original games worth of multiplayers, a remastered Halo 2 multiplayer, and the beta for the Halo 5 game. There is so much value here that no matter what you situation you find yourself--someone who loves campaign modes, someone who only plays online, or someone just looking to catch up on the stories of Master Chief-- that it is a no brainer to buy this game.

Halo ce for xbox classic is what started me on my path into video games and to be playing the remastered versions really takes me back. And the cinematics are GORGEOUS in halo 2 anniversary and to have 4 halo games for the price of one is a no brainer. To me these games have it all excellent value excellent story excellent gameplay. This is a must have for any upcoming fps gamer. I love the lore of halo and this game with all the terminals really does it for me. And this digital series that Ridley Scott made ive only scene the first episode but it looks really good.

Bought on launch day. Everything was a travesty. Framerate issues and sound issues. And don't get me started on the multiplayer. Fast forward a few months and 10+GBs of updates/patches and the campaign is great. Halo 2 Anniversary is beautiful. Multiplayer is playable but just barely. Hopefully for Halo 5 as its a completely new multiplayer and not four older games pushed together on a new system.
