First off, I never write reviews. This game is so awesome and so under appreciated that I feel COMPELLED to write my thoughts on this game. It's a mixture of all the best elements of 2D Super Mario Bros (small part of Sonic), mixed in with stunning HD graphics. GAMEPLAY It's a pretty simple concept ... Jump, Hit, and run. The first few levels are warm ups and ease you into the movements. After that the difficulty starts to ramp up quickly and you find yourself replaying spots a few times. Whenever you die, though, you don't really feel like you lost because the level replay is really high. There's also a lot of level secrets which is really fun to find and discover. MULTIPLAYER CO-OP Incredibly fun experience!!! First thing that happens is all your friends say "what a weird game" soon to be followed up with "I think this is my favorite game of all time" ... Very hard to put down when you have 4 people jumping and bashing through levels. SOUND AND MUSIC Fun, quirky, energetic, well fitting, and at times stunning! The music score is incredibly well produced and a lot of the SFX match pitch and harmony to the score (I enjoy a lot since I'm a music producer) GRAPHICS All the animations are super fluid. Graphics are super HD quality (vibrant, beautiful, etc). Is the game 3D? Nope. I can assuredly say that this game would not be as cool looking if it was in 3D. The 2D sprite graphics have a certain appeal that can't be replicated in 3D because all the art is hand drawn! Don't hate on the 2D! REPLAY VALUE Very high. Replay with friends. Replay to find secrets. It's a blast.

For those of us that grew up in the 2D side scrolling era of Super Mario World and Sonic the Hedgehog, Rayman: Origins will come as a breath of fresh air. With its crisp hand drawn art and massive feeling levels, it clearly pays it homage to the older greats while still being unique with fast paced movement coupled with Rayman's specific quirks.

Frantic action requiring quick reflexes. Tests true gamers from the 2d platformer era with beautiful hand drawn art.

When I purchased Rayman I wasnt thinking it was going to be very fun, but I needed a game to play with my girlfriend. We both fell in love with this game, and look forward to the next Rayman game. All we wish was that the game was longer than it is. The levels dont take very long to complete.

I bought this game because remember playing this game about 15 years ago and enjoying it. I really like the way they have updated the storyline and graphics. My husband says "it's kind of like Super Mario Brothers for grown ups."

Rayman Origins is a platforming game, that despite its bright colors and cartoon like demeanor is hard. The game does throws many obstacles the player's way, and the player can and will fail...repeatedly. Thankfully the lack of a lives system and a generous checkpoint setup make failure, less of a punishment and more of a learning opportunity. The control setup is also simple, it does not require moving in a 3d space, meaning that the game design and the player's attention is more focused on what is going on at that particular point. This means that the game is also fast paced and at a high enough skill level, each stage is a small obstacle course that completed easily and is interesting to see. The game also has a local multiplayer option where up to four people can play, help, and more than hurt each other (intentionally or otherwise). In short Rayman Origins is fun, but hard, and after the first few stages the player has some idea what they are getting into.

If you grew up with Sony Playstation's Rayman series of games, then you'll love Origins!

Rayman Origins is just so much fun to play. I can't say much more.
