WOW. was never a gamer until this came out. Every one needs to follow "Bethesda's" lead in open world platforms, there is nothing more fun than going where you want to when you want to; not corralled in like cattle to follow a certain path like most games out there.
Now with the special edition you can add mod, this goes beyond fun to be able to add certain monsters, weapons, places....In all reality this game could go on forever.

Yes it's the exact same game from 2011!

The first time I played Skyrim was on November 11th of 2011 when it was originally released; and back then I absolutely loved it. So when I heard Bethesda was making a Special Edition I knew I had to get it. Ironically though, the game is the exact same version from 2011, which means all the same bugs made it in, hence making certain aspects of the game annoying.
Now don’t get me wrong, not that it’s a super big deal, but considering Bethesda had 7 years to fix all the annoying bugs including broken dialog loops with non-essential NPCs, broken non-essential quests lines, and most annoyingly dragons killing off entire villages when fast traveling in, just to name a few, is still disappointing.
I logged over 350 hours back in 2011/2012 and was hoping to do so again, but considering I’m a completionist I’m not willing to log that many hours again just to be annoyed with the same little things all over again. Thus I decided to only play through the game’s main storyline for nostalgic purposes, and surprisingly I ended up being satisfied.
Nothing new has been added to the game, however there is an additional feature that allows you to download modified content created by the Skyrim gaming community, but in exchange you lose the ability to earn PS4 trophies. I would definitely recommend giving Skyrim a onetime play through unless you are a completionist or have played it before hoping all the little annoyances have been removed from the 2011 version.

Skyrim is a massive world filled with caves, hills, mountains, rivers, streams, ponds, lakes, ancient ruins, castles, villages, wildlife, dragons and bipedal races. The map is a massive expanse that includes a wide variety of biomes and weather. I didn't finish the main story in the game right away, because I was side-tracked by the rest of the world of skyrim. I was always wanting to know what was over the next mountain or what was up ahead if I followed the river. The leveling system in the game allows you to build your character for the way you want to play. I have put countless hours into the game, because of how big it is. I'd recommend it to everyone and especially those that like to explore and find all the secrets and little details in a game world.

Skyrim is an excellent RPG originally released on PS3. This is a PS4 remastered version of the game that includes all the DLC as well. There is so much to do in Skyrim. It has an open world to explore and lots of weapons, spells, & abilities for your character to develop. You can even get married to another character and build a home for when you are weary and need a rest from your travels. This game is immense with its epic story and dragons to kill or tame. Hear the tales of the Dragonborn and become a Legend in Skyrim.

Skyrim V The Elder Scrolls Special Edition, truly a classic & must have for video game fans out there & the best version of Skyrim out there. The graphics are amazing & so is the action. The visual graphics make you feel like your actually in it. The combat against your enemies is simply amazing. There is alot of DLC to be aquired if this is your type of game. If you see this version out there & the price is right, this is definitely a must have for any video game collection!

It's difficult to ever feel completely satisfied with a play session of Skyrim. There's always one more pressing quest, one more unexplored tract of land, one more skill to increase, one more butterfly to catch. It's a mesmerizing game that draws you into an finely crafted fictional space packed with content that consistently surprises. The changes made since Oblivion are many, and result in a more focused and sensible style of play, where the effects of every decision are easily seen. Featuring the same kind of thrilling freedom of choice The Elder Scrolls series is known for along with beautiful visuals and a stirring soundtrack, playing Skyrim is a rare kind of intensely personal, deeply rewarding experience, and one of the best role-playing games yet produced.

Elder Scrolls continues to be a quality RPG, and Skyrim is one of my favorite games. Character and gameplay customization, tons of areas and quests, and lots of replay value.
I had the PS3 version and spent many hours exploring the map and following the seemingly endless quests and interactions. It's been awhile since I had played it, so when I found a deal I picked up the PS4 version, which has the expansions. It's as good as I remember! I normally wouldn't re-buy a game, but Skyrim is a modern classic.
I was surprised to find one area on the open map so far that was buggy, but since it was in the open it was easy enough to get around it and it wasn't a game stopper.

When I first played Skyrim on my PS3 years ago it blew me away. The beauty of the world, the size of the game, and all the incredible secrets to find. Now you get all that with many improvements such as improved graphics, a more steady frame rate, and all the DLC. After playing for almost 400 hours on my PS3 I am still surprised by how much there is to explore and new things to find now playing the Special Edition on my PS4. Creation Club and mods are available to download and add more to your game. I personally don’t play with mods because I’m trying to platinum the game and don’t want to do a fourth playthrough of the gigantic game. Creation Club is my alternative to mods because they don’t disable trophies although the Creation Club store is lacking in content at the time of the review and some things are a little overpriced.
While the game still manages to give you impressive vistas and more detailed environments many of the 3D models in the game aren't smooth. A few other things stand out that make the game feel dared too like textures not displaying in the distance, limited NPC dialogue and really bad AI; especially from your followers. All the glitches from the previous version are still in the game so be prepared to deal with that yet. Combat was never very good and playing it now it stands out even more after having many years of more polished and refined gameplay in games. Also there is no first person view while riding a horse which can be very immersion breaking.
Overall it’s just a prettier version of the original game with a better frame rate. Much of the game hasn’t aged very well but the massive open world still offers plenty to do and lots to explore. If you’ve never played Skyrim or an Elder Scrolls game before and you like open world RPGs then this might be worth checking out. If you have played Skyrim before and want to play it again then I would absolutely recommend checking this out as it is the best way to play it on console. 4 out of 5 Stars.

While there isn't much new content, this special edition does come with all DLC and mod support. The improved graphics are good but not that much of an improvement. I would highly recommend this game simply because the game is still amazing. If you have never played this game it is a must buy and if you are looking at replaying it you will not be disappointed.

This game will blow you away! The graphics are stunning and the world is so full of life. You can be whoever you want to be in this game. It has a great story but it is very non linear and has a huge open world for you to explore. Definitely a must buy.

I had gotten the original version for the PS3 and liked it very much. This version looks even better on the PS4. But like the old PS3 version this version can be a little buggy. But Bethesda seems to be providing updates to the game periodically. A plus is to be able to play with Mods although the mods are not as diverse as PC or X Box One mods due to some limitations placed on the game by Sony.

Been good getting back to Skyrim. Still has a few small bug's, but overall has been great. Anyone who played the PS3 version knows the longer you play into the game the worse some glitches, and crashes get. Haven't had those issues, hopefully a little more power from the PS4 will prevent those from being as problematic? So far the few bugs I did encounter were fixed after a patch/update was installed. The mods are great, though don't expect it to be as encompassing as the mods on PC. And, some mods have caused game crashes, but they are negated by saving often. Is a good idea to have an alternate save file if you are installing mods on a game you have been working with for a while. They can have consequences, though it doesn't occur often. Had one save corrupted, but it hasn't occurred again in some time now.

As an active Skyrim player since its release the remastered version is just about amazing in every way, the game itself received a huge face lift and the land of skyrim is more beautiful the ever. The only 2 cons I have with it on the PS4 is that it has very less more space for mod support with the Xbox version having 5gbs of free space for it, but that's Sony on there part. The other con which is small but only for pro users like myself is the game runs a little choppy in some places you can see it briefly, you lose about 2-3 frames not a huge complaint but It would be nice if Bethesda released a patch to be able to run the game in 4k like it tries to on the PS4 Pro or 1080p 60fps since the console has the power but that's on the developers hands to make a patch for it. But the game is amazing mod support makes it endless it has all DLC in it. Is it worth 60$? In my opinion it isn't it's about 40$ since its a remaster but if you love everything in the elder scroll series you won't mind dropping 60$ on it. If your new to Skyrim and wanted to try it? Please for the love of Talos try it out. Also take about a week off of work. Thank me later :)

Before Bethesda answered the MMO call they excelled at solo rpg's. Skyrim was the last (so far) and most in depth of the Elder Scrolls line but it could arguably be the best. While it lacked some of the character freedom the originals had (such as making your own class and assigning the skills for that class or having unarmed as a combat option) it has a deep story with vivid destinations and great follow through to deliver a top notch gaming experience!
The PS4 was a great transition to remaster the graphics so that somehow, Bethesda managed to make the bleak, gray landscape come to life! Would love to see the other games get this treatment!

This is my third time purchasing Skyrim. First for the PS3, then PC, and now the PS4. This version comes with the DLC, and also supports mods. In addition, the game saves tell you what character they're for, so it's easy to keep track of different characters you've created. Visually, the environments look good, although they would be considered not the best by today's standards. Despite that, this is a game that I find myself returning to when I just want to wander around and have adventures. A fine RPG.
