Before I purchased Zelda: Breath of the Wild, someone described it to me as 'beautiful'. I didn't understand how a video game can be beautiful until this became part of my game collection. A 3D world that encompasses everything in the world around us; mountains, streams, oceans, trees, horses, birds, insects - the list goes on. The content is so realistic that it makes me reflect on the amount of talented coding that went into this game. Add to that the puzzles to solve to win valuable 'orbs' so you can have the necessary tools you need in the many battles with monsters unimaginable. There is no pace - you choose. Sometimes I play just to enjoy the scenery. I can honestly say that I will not rush to beat the main evil force - Like a good book I don't want to scramble to finish, I don't want this game to end. Accolades to the game developers - you have truly created a masterpiece!

Hands Down Best Nintendo Game Ever

I'm a avid Legend of Zelda fan, I've been playing the series for years. I had very high expectations for this game from all the trailers and hours of pre-release footage that Nintendo released. I bought the game on the release date and got it home and immediately started playing and right away you clearly notice the difference from the other games. It only takes a couple minutes to become completely immersed in this massive world that the creators masterfully constructed. The worst part about this game is simply trying to convince yourself to stop playing. After a week and a few days of playing I've accomplished quite a lot but with the scale of this game I still have an enourmous amount left to accomplish, but to tell the truth I hope I never do accomplish it all because the game is just that good. Whether you are new to the series or a die hard fan, you will be completely satisfied!

My son (11) absolutely loves this game! He is always talking about Breath of the Wild this and Breath of the Wild that. I haven't played a minute of this game and I feel like I have been there because of how excitedly he talks about it.

I haven't owned or played a Legend of Zelda game since the SNES days (A Link To The Past). I was worried that my tastes and values as a gamer might have outgrown the Nintendo brand and Zelda behind it. I'm glad I took that plunge and bought the Switch along with Breath of the Wild so that I could be proved wrong. Everything about this game and console oozes charm. It's also nice to be reminded of how meticulous Nintendo developers are in regards to detail and level design. Honestly, playing this game makes me realize how lazy developers have gotten in regards to level design. The graphics are astounding. It may only display in 1080p and be constricted to weaker hardware than the competition but Nintendo devs know how to utilize every resource available to ensure you have something beautiful to look at. The nostalgic old school gameplay where you find a key item in an area that seems to be just out of reach but you know you'll be able to return later to collect it when you have the proper tools is so classic Nintendo, refreshing nonetheless. Its a must play game. Don't think. Buy.

The visuals and the atmosphere are unparalleled. The open world approach frees it up from some of the constraints that have frustrated me in previous Zelda games. It's fun. It's not without its flaws, but those are tolerable. Just a great game.

I have always been so interested in the world and the characters of Legend of Zelda, but I never really connected with any of the games... until Breath of the Wild. This game takes all of the little things that added up to make me not want to invest my time or energy in old Zelda games and throws them out the window. (Link can jump now!) It takes all the old inconveniences of open world games and throws them out too. (You can climb any mountain, as long as you have enough stamina to get the job done.) All of this would be enough to make me fall in love, but then they went a little further and made the game beautiful. While not graphically "impressive," Breath of the wild still manages to be one of the prettiest games I have ever seen or played (and I imagine it will always be so.) I love this game and after 80+ hours I haven't even beaten the main story. There are far too many mountains to climb and areas to explore. If you have ever been interested in Zelda, buy this game!

Not joking when I say this may be one of the best games of all time. Great game for new and old Zelda fans. The open world is amazing and the story is fantastic. 10/10 game and has a ton of stuff to stick your teeth in.

This game is huge. You can pretty much go anywhere and the game won't stop you—open world. You can climb things and get to places even if that's not the intended way to go. My only gripe is that the weapons don't last at all. Maybe the Master Sword will—when I get to that—but everything else breaks or takes damage all the time.

I'm not the biggest fan of open ended games, but Breath of the Wild is freaking sweet! The story is great, the combat, is extremely satisfying! The only complaints I have is that on occasion the frame rate drops, and the cartridge doesn't taste the best. Other than that, 10/10. Possibly The Best Zelda. Definately Best 3D Zelda.

Open world can be a bit of a drawback

The game is exactly as it is advertised, open world. But that means a lot of time getting from place to place in the beginning. Then there's the weapons that degrade so fast... But those things are about the only real drawbacks. Once you get past those points, the game really is enjoyable. Graphics work well, no screen tearing, things are smooth. Controls are good, and work well. Gameplay is enjoyable. There's a lot to see, and a nice bit of difference between fighting and puzzle parts of the game. But being such an open world, it's not a game you'll win quickly. It takes time, but that's part of the appeal. You won't finish it in a day and a half and wonder if it was worth it. You'll get your money's worth out of it.

This game has it all. It is like going to another world and being able to explore whatever you see. Cooking food from items hunted or collected. Riding various animals or contraptions. Fighting all sorts of enimies. Just pure fun for the explorer at heart.

Gamer's Club Unlocked is a tremendous value; I saved 20% on top of the sales price of this game, which I had been wanting to play for a while. The breathtaking visuals for a Nintendo game along with an immensely deep story with seemingly infinite replayability makes this a tremendous option for any Switch owner.

This is an excellent game that exceeds previous Zelda games. The game play was developed very well, there are endless things to do. The game is also good for a variety of ages, as younger kids enjoy wandering around and older kids/adults enjoy the missions and puzzles.

I've sunk so many hours into this game. The open concept is super freeing, but I still feel like I'm working towards the ultimate goal of the game, to defeat Calamity Ganon. You can storm the castle almost as soon as you start the game, but I am delaying it as long as possible while I explorer every corner of Hyrule!

Honestly this is one of the best games I have ever played. It's a lot of fun and has so much depth to it. You could literally spend hours just exploring and doing random stuff. It's easy to get off track but thankfully there is a guide that helps you with the main story. You will really like this game so I highly recommend it.

I'm constantly impressed by the sense of exploration. It's definitely not a kids game, though. They could definitely watch someone older play, but the game itself can be quite difficult and offers very little "hand holding" for moment-to-moment gameplay.

Wow this is Zelda? I've not played a Zelda game since the GameCube Nintendo has not made something I've been excited for in a long time. The Switch changed that and then there's playing Zelda. Other than the weapons having a limit of hits before breaking this game is fantastic. The shading is great and there's voice acting.
