I had been waiting to play this game ever since I played it at E3. It's rare that I really get into a big open wild RPG because I find they get tedious really quickly with repetitive cut scenes and fetch quests. This one though is doing it right. There are plenty of skills and abilities and lots of secrets to discover. The enemies are varied and their presentation so far has kept the gameplay unique and unexpected. The cooking and crafting is quick and fun to play around with. They also make it an essential skill to learn right off the bat with cold areas that require you to brew hot pepper meals to stay alive. I appreciate the importance of stamina in this game as well. You can climb anything you want but if you're going up a serious cliff you'd better prep stamina meals and look for a way up that will give you a place to stop and rest. The same goes for swimming. Currents are fast and dangerous. You can't just jump in and hold down the stick until you make it across. You can only swim for so long before you tire and that can be tricky with hidden monsters in the water and currents sweeping you away.

I'm a big Nintendo fan but not really as big of a Zelda fans as others. But I have to say this is definitely one of the best games ever. I have become sick of open world games but this really breathed new life into it and exploring this world is so much fun. The game is one of the most polished games I have ever played

This is one of the best Zelda games ever. If you have yet to play it and are a fan of the series, this is a must play. Definitely looking forward to the sequel.
If you have never played a Zelda game before and are a fan of open world RPGs, you have to give this a try.

This Game is amazing and looks beautiful. I love how it looks on a big screen TV and I still think it is cool how you can take the game and play it on the go. It looks good on the Switch's screen however I find myself not wanting to do too much to advance the story while playing on the go. I do believe the big open world and how great it looks is somewhat sacrificed when playing on the go... don't get me wrong it looks just as amazing but I feel like it needs to be experienced on a bigger screen, but the idea that you can grab it and and go is still a plus obviously. The game reminds me of a cartoonish version of "The Witcher III" which is one of my all time favorite games. There is so much to do and explore, and i find myself like I did in "The Witcher III", where I am spending so much time just looking at the landscape and exploring different areas.

I finally got Breath of the Wild and it is almost worth fetting the Switch for this game alone. The combat can be challenging but still very fun. Exploration is very abundant as the map is huge and you can climb anywhere. It also looks really good for a cartoony game and even better when hooked up to the dock.

Genuinely one of my favorite Zelda titles of all time. There isn't much to talk about here. The graphics are great, the amount of freedom to simply explore and take in the scenery is liberating, and the characters are memorable.

**The only Spoilers in here are time to beat and how to use a skill they don't tell you outright (that you have access to from the start)**
So I've finished the game after doing a large amount of shrine searching (taking about 90 hours), and this game still has me coming back for more. The guys over at Nintendo really made this Zelda title a work of art. It's not too handhold-ie and not too vague that you have no idea what is going on; however, do expect to die a little bit until you "get it" but even before you get it, it's not so punishing that the game can become un-fun (see: the Dark Souls series / From Software titles). It's a great game, and I'll be playing it for a while longer (especially after Hard Mode gets released in a few months).
P.S. If you get the game, you can Shield Surf by holding ZL, then pressing jump at the same time, and while you're in the air press A. It took me a while to figure this out and isn't stated anywhere unless you do certain things, but it is a skill you have from the start of the game. Good luck, I wish I could forget it all and do it again fresh.

This is a great open world Zelda game that I have spent over a hundred hours on. I could get lost in the game just from exploring the beautiful environments and secrets that are hidden within the lush world of Hyrule. Can't wait for the sequel to come out!

Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is a breath of fresh air in the midst of all the games I've played this past year. The world in-game is the largest, and by far, most beautiful I've ever had the opportunity to explore in my 25 years of gaming.
Exploration in this game does not feel like a chore either. It just feels natural to see something of interest off in the distance and then spend the next hour or so making my way there, taking care of random enemies and finding hidden treasures and secrets along the way.
One of the things I love most about this game is that you're not overwhelmed with music: it's carefully peppered in for choice areas in the game to really add to the ambiance. Character designs are just top notch as well. Purah and Prince Sidon are just a couple of my faves.
If you're a Legend of Zelda fan and you either haven't played or currently playing this right now, you need to remedy that and pick this gem up immediately.
If you've never played a LoZ game before in your life, prepare yourself for one of the best games you've ever played and play this game!

As a Zelda fan, I didnt believe things could top my experiences from Ocarina of Time, or Skyward Sword or even Twilight Princess.
I am happy to report: Breath of the Wild is an absolute masterpiece.
1) Exploration. It is massive, it is open, it is dangerous, and it is beautiful. You really feel one against the world in this game. There is so much to see, and nowhere you cannot go! Link is all over the place! From horses to flying to swimming, the exploration is on point.
2) THE WEAPONS! This game totally got this right. From awesome ancient Tron-looking weapons, to flame and thunder blades, to simple clubs and boomerangs, the weapons are so much fun to get and find new ones.
3) It is perfect. The only faults arent even the games fault, its the processing power of the Switch's fault.
10/10 would play 100 times and enjoy it each time

My first experience playing Zelda was on the Nintendo 64 with Ocarina of time. For any real Zelda fan this is a must buy. For any adventure game fan this is also a must buy. Breath of the Wild is one of those very few games in the past couple of years that has really tried to innovate it's games design and in doing so created a very fun and enjoyable game that tells a very fresh tale about Link in a vast open world game. This is a living and breathing world you explore battling a large number of interesting enemies and picking up upgrades for Link aswell as new weapons to keep the combat interesting. The game alone is stunning and for a console that is able to be played in handheld mode your going to be putting ALOT of hours in to this one. Do yourself a favour and pick up the absolute marvel of an experience you will not be disappointed.

This is an amazing game. If you love the Zelda series this game will exceed your expectations. I love how they have added hunting for food and cooking how you replenish hearts. It has great puzzles and an exciting story line. You will not be disappointed.

Started playing this with 3 of my friends and we are all in different areas and took different paths. The open world allows this in the game. We have told each other how great the game is and are all for different reasons. Long story short, love it

The Zelda franchise is my favorite. I love the wide open nature of the game, roaming from region to region, undertaking quests, and side quests, fighting diverse monsters, puzzling over strategies to achieve your goals. Graphics are great, Link is better than ever. Endless fun.

Super fantastic game. It seems really hard in the beginning (you will die a lot) but as you learn the mechanics and get stronger weapons, you'll start to truly enjoy the massive open-world game.

The hype is real if you're into exploring and adventurous battles. I shouldn't be typing this. Go to other gaming sites and see for yourself.
You'll be playing for days, weeks, maybe a month's worth before completing the game.
Recommend getting the DLC. The summer's DLC is great to add more replay value.

Traditionally, I would say Zelda titles are overrated. A beloved series, it often gets points for the title alone. This is the first Zelda game I have played that I feel truly deserves the scores it's getting. The sense of exploration and the fun puzzles truly help make this one of the best games I've ever played.

If you like explore a huge open world, this is defintely one you should play. Combat is a bit simplistic and there are some limitations to your abilities in terms of a stamina meter and weapon durablility but is overall defintely one of the greats
