Beautiful game with so much content. Puzzles everywhere, a whole world to explore, incredible amount of gameplay. I'd never played a Zelda game before, and my expectations were blown away. Highly recommend

Breath of the Wild is indeed a Breath of Fresh Imagination from the devs at Nintendo. It takes every mundane trope from all 3D Zeldas before it (e.g. strict linearity, relatively small/closed-world maps, and few side quests/side-content) and reinvents them all to such great success. It's the best composition of elements from Sandbox and Dungeon Crawlers to date and many games like God of War 4 as well as Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot take heavy inspiration from it. That said, the lack of structure defined by the game that is not explicitly shown to the player in a sequential manner can result in a lot of meandering around the massive map trying to figure out the best course of action, which can cause the player to become lost without a guide.

To be fair I haven't played a Zelda since Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask... but still. The open world is impressive and the gameplay was amazing. The perfect reintroduction to Nintendo and video games in general for an old gamer who finally found some extra time and money to play.

This Zelda has been the best I've played in a long time. After being sorely disappointed by Skyward Sword, and then waiting through delay after delay for this one, it's refreshing to see Nintendo put out something so detailed. It's definitely worth the wait. The attention to detail in this game is phenomenal--it's challenging at times and forces you to be creative in your puzzle solving and in your combat strategies. While the graphics aren't on par with the realism of some of the newer PS4 or X1 games, Nintendo has gone with an aesthetically pleasing artistic style and many of the views are stunning. Both me and my girlfriend have put more than 100 hours into this game and still get sucked into it after playing for a few moments, even after beating the final boss.

Breath of the Wild doesn't hold your hand or baby the player. It's an open-world adventure game that is enormous with plenty to find and do.
Just be sure to carry plenty of weapons and shields. You'll break them. A lot.

Very fun game and interesting story. I don't like a lot of single player games but this ranks one of the best for me. It is my second Zelda game and it is a great release title. Hours of play and fun without the leveling system that most games use to increase character abilities.

I've never found myself so immersed in an open world before. A lot of times, open world games look outwardly impressive, but are really just filled with a bunch of tedious side quests to give the impression of a fully developed world. BotW doesn't have or need any of that. The land of Hyrule itself feels like a fully fleshed out character that exploring every nook and cranny is incredibly rewarding. The exploratory process that causes players to tell themselves, "Just one more shrine," or, "Just one more Korok seed," is addicting to the point where I found myself losing track of huge chunks of time, and before I knew it, the sun had set and I hadn't eaten all day. I know some gamers took issue with the deviation from the linear formula that has been a staple of the Zelda series for decades, but this is honestly the best Zelda game I've ever had the pleasure of playing, and I hope Nintendo continues to employ this framework in future titles.

Having grown up playing the original Zelda game in the NES, I had high hopes for this new Zelda game. The game did not disappoint. I love the new art style that was used for this game. It's not realistic but it does not need to be as this is a fantasy game. The game is huge! I have been playing since March 3rd when it first came out and I think I'm only about 70 - 75% complete. I love that the game does not hold your hand, you're basically on your own to do as you please once you exit the initial cave. You can attempt to go straight to Gannon from the beginning or you can explore and complete shrines and side quests to prepare for the final battle with Gannon. This game is definitely worth getting if you're an old Zelda fan or if you're a fantasy RPG fan as well.

If you own a switch and don't own this zelda, you are doing yourself a disservice. Let's be honest nintendo doesn't strive for that realistic look that the other systems do. That being said they excel at what they do and the images are fluid, open world concept is greatly appreciated.

Daughter loves the game and has been playing for hours. The graphics are great and great storyline. Would buy again. Now I am going to have to get Zelda 2 when it comes out very soon.

Open-world greatness. I love the animated style graphics and the bright colors. I have to admit I've been spending a little too much of my time in Hyrule running around as Link. This game was the reason I bought a Switch and I couldn't be happier, buy it you'll have fun.

This game is BEAUTIFUL. I've really enjoyed searching all the dungeons, and there are a ton of puzzles on here, too. Only complaint I would have is it seems like a lot of the weapons will break easily. Not hard to find other ones, but it did get annoying.

My son can not stop playing this game. He throughly enjoys playing this game. It is fun. I also like that this is the best game on the Switch at this time, so you are able to focus and get the best out of the best game.

My daughter had it and needed me to help her out. Dang it, I got hooked. Love the puzzles and very open play style. More fun than I remember having on some of the previous Zelda adventures, and really like it on the Switch.

I love open world games, and this one is fantastic. the graphics are beautiful, the world is vibrant, and its just a joy to play. Fans of Zelda and fans of open world games will love this adventure. the ability to take it on the go with the switch just makes it more fun.
