Started out really great, but the repetitive enemies couldn't keep my attention, so I never finished it.

If you enjoyed Dishonored you will not be disappointed. Interesting sci-fi world that reminded me of Bioshock. My biggest complaint is enemy variety, there is not enough.

I was really looking foeprward to this - and walked away happy but saddened. Game is gorgeous, but the gameplay feels a little stilted. Also stressful, because ANYTHING could be an enemy.

If you liked the Bioshock series, then you should enjoy Prey. A lot of similarities in game mechanics and the way tension builds. You won't survive purely on shooting through every enemy, nor will you beat this game without thinking carefully on how you'll approach some of the trickier situations. Clearly a "brains before brawn" game.

This is a mixture of dishonored and alien. @@@@@@@@ in my opinion) I've heard bioshock, but I just don't see/feel it. Lots of side quests & crafting . I think the combat could've felt a little better and there could've been more interesting enemies... besides that... I don't have any major complaints

Enemies can be pretty creepy. Weapons feel fun to use. Story is alright. Atmosphere is great. Overall it's a neat experience.

The story is interesting and keeps you engaged well enough, but it's the environment and gameplay that shines. From choosing how you'd like to progress and upgrade your character to how you'd like to approach situations. Would you like to play it safe and sneak past everything, take everything head on, or make yourself more alien than human and fit in. Or become anything in the environment through mimic abilities. The combat isn't as polished or quick as a FPS shooter, but this fits since your not a marine, or spec-ops trained fighter, your a random person who is in the wrong place at the wrong time. You won't survive purely on shooting through every enemy, nor will you beat this game without thinking carefully on how you'll approach some of the trickier situations.

The team who developed Dishonored made this. It's a wonderful romp in 1st person through a retro-future space station. You can make choices along the way which affect certain outcomes. You find unique weapons, one being a very fun glue gun (give it a chance) that can be used in interesting ways. The enemies are unique in that they are mimics, which are creatures that disguise themselves as ordinary objects, which as you can imagine, makes for some jump scares. There are early plot twists that really ramp up the story. It's a great ride.

I'm writing this review after the release of the DLC Mooncrash and the Prey VR DLC although I bought the game Day 1. Although you can beat the game in 15 hours or less (putting aside the now fully patched game glitch that allowed you to beat the game in 5 minutes) Ive spent 60 + hours just exploring the entire space station, recycling and doing quests. Now that the game is $9.99 in some places you'll get a lot for you're dollar even if you pay $19.99. The DLC Mooncrash is great as well.

There was a certain level of disappointment by many when this new Prey was announced and confirmed to not connect to the original franchise. But, with that in mind, Arkane has proven with its Dishonored series that they have an impressive vision and unique handle on first person fare. They've also continued to commit to this game with new DLC just recently released, so they haven't allowed any sort of consumer hesitancy prevent them from continued support. The enemies have a bit of lackluster diversity in their alien form, but the fact that many can shapeshift to hide in plain sight will keep you on your toes and paying attention to the action. Allowing yourself to focus on one in a group of three will almost certainly guarantee the others will transform into everyday objects out of sight and get the drop on you the moment you go looking for them. @@@@@@@@ Unless you get an augment that allows you to scan objects). And, much like the Deus Ex series, you'll have some hard choices to make, largely on how you want to play. You'll never collect enough augments to MAX every category, so careful planning will be needed when you head into the game, and multiple playthroughs if you want to see how different each playstyle can be. If you enjoyed Deus Ex's spin on FPS with augmented abilities, Arkane's beautiful art style, and an enjoyable story-driven campaign full of choices, don't allow the lack of "true Prey" dissuade you any longer, now that the price has dropped significantly. Grab this reboot and take the time to enjoy this new vision.

I rage quit this game like 3 times in the beginning. It's tough because you are weak and the enemies are very difficult. I was also doing a bunch of side quests to boost up the character. However, if you stick with the main story line first for a while, you'll gain access to great abilities that make survival MUCH more bearable and actually tells a very intriguing story. I really like it because it gets under your skin. Well worth getting if you have a bit of patience in the beginning and expect to die a bunch of times. But use your smarts and you'll be fine. Ultimately, it's a very fun game. I took a star off because the game doesn't really tell you what to do or how anything works, which can be frustrating for the more casual gamer. If you invest a little time and thought, though, it's very rewarding.
